1. Which method to you use to paste?
2. What exactly are you trying to paste into?
3. Can you paste into Firefox chrome input controls?

I am using simple cut-paste. I am not able to paste anything (text/image etc) , anywhere (search bar, address bar, composing mail etc)

For me it happened 2nd time in past 5 days. After whole day extensive use of Firefox I just face that it stops responding to clicking on the link as well as copy-paste of the links. After Firefox restart everything works...

Just one bad thing and another problem arise: i must restart Firefox in safe mode only as some of my add-ons causes startup problems but I could not evaluate which of them...

Rytisas: I think my problem is not same as yours. I am able to visit link by clicking on them, copy text, cut text etc. Everything else is working fine, just problem with paste

When I restarted the browser, the problem was solved...but it I do not restart the browser after one day the problem still arrives..

Anyhow I have the temporary solution now

Yes, pranaymahajan, there are few variations of the problem :D Good thing that it's solved after Firefox restart. Also I should notice that problem still exists when turning off the PC ;)

There is another thing that I would like to bring to your notice. When I am closing the browser by clicking at the close icon, the firefox.exe process keeps running in the background. You need to explicitly kill the process in order to proceed further. This is another bug that I have encountered

I'm having this problem as well. The paste option just doesn't show up at all. It's only while I'm running Firefox Portable.

Paste shows until I copy something and then it disappears when I try to paste. Ctrl V does not work either.

You should try terminating the process firefox.exe from task manager whenever this problem starts happening.

For me this promblem gets resolved after terminating the process firefox.exe, but it again stars to happen after some time. So temporarily try using the above mentioned solution until firefox has a fix for this bug

looks like a lot of different reports here but can I get some help sorting it out?

1) What version of Firefox are you using? 2) Can you COPY from firefox? (That is to say if you select text from this page, can you paste it somewhere else?) 3) Are you using any extensions? Can you try running Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode?

Hmm... and a last question: did you have Firefox open for a while and/or watched a video (or a few) before seeing this copy/paste problem?

The first to do if there are problems with a Firefox 4 beta version is to create an new profile and possibly disable hardware acceleration.

Create a new profile exclusively for the 4.0 beta version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

• Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Too many issues using Firefox. IE 7 and IE 8 no longer work well either on yahoo. It it ain't broke leave it alone
