My Thunderbird Email is not working

When I open my Thunderbird email I get the following message. "Sending of password for user haytaian did not succeed. Mail server pop.optonline.net responded: Service Temporarily Unavailable"

However when I go to Optimum.net via Google, my account opens up. I need access thru Thunderbird to get my work done.

The recommended POP server is mail.optimum.net on 995, SSL/TLS, authentication = normal password, User Name = part of address before @. The outgoing smtp is the same except the port is 465.
