Firefox will not have removed your McAfee AntiVirus protection, and would not be able to do so. It would be pretty inefective protection if Firefox could just remove that from your computer !

What may have happened is that McAfee was providing some additional optional (Free !?) software or tool designed to work with Firefox which is now broken or in need of an update by McAfee in order to continue working with Firefox.

You may also note Microsoft Windows 10 already includes basic security software including a Firewall and AntiVirus. Firefox itself also by default has some Malware and Phishing protection

Please make sure your McAfee software is paid for and fully updated and state

  • What the component is that is not working for you ?
  • The full name and version of your McAfee software ?

I do note you have a plugin called SiteAsdvisor maybe that is the part of optional bloatware from McAfee

Firefox on Windows does not impact the separate insert name antivirus clients software in any way. Your McAffee antivirus is still fine in protecting your PC with what abilities it has in doing so.

The issue is the McAffee Extension version you have was not compatible with Firefox 47.0. The Firefox Extensions provided by Antivirus clients needs to be updated for each new major Firefox version .exe to work.

There may be McAfee updates for the Firefox extension.
