Hi,

I've downloaded T-bird on two computers- a windows platform and a mac. It works find on the windows platform, but on the mac, while it appears to have populated from my email account (IMAP) with no issues, the search feature always returns nothing. On the windows computer, it works fine.

If relevant, it's open on both computers at the same time, but that doesn't seem to cause any issues, as they're pulling from a web-based email account.

Any ideas about how to make the search feature work on the mac? I search for words or names that I know are there, but the results are always empty. It's important, and I need to get it up and running quickly.

When I start a email message search, I am bombarded with bad suggestions for email addresses. These include addresses from everyone I've received email from even though I have deleted these entries in collected email addresses and my personal address book.

The addresses could be from old purchases or ebay responses or anyone I've ever received an email from. I have deleted most of the emails entirely, yet I still get all these bad addresses when I search.

Is there a way to clear the history in search or remove the email addresses where I have deleted the email?

I've attached a Home Depot search as an example.

There's an article that says we can change where attachments are stored by going to tools, options, attachments. However, I have no "options" under "tools." Thanks in advance.

Can not find how to do FireFox on the new setup. HATE the new Fire Fox emailing format!!! One thing is the ongoing back and forth with others I sent an email. Usually to reply, just had to click on reply and send my response fro the just sent email. I HATE THE NEW SET UP!!!!

I repaired my inbox yesterday. I had many messages still in that inbox but after the repair I only see 5 messages. I looked in the directory my profile points to for my email and can see a large Inbox file - but I also see a very small Inbox.msf file. It is almost like the process of rebuilding is pointing to another Inbox file. See the picture attached.

I even tried to take a previous copy of the Inbox.msf file from a backup (it was 800 kb). I deleted the old Inbox.msf file and replaced with the larger 800 kb file. When I opened Thunderbird, it started to something: "Building summary file for inbox" and about a minute later those same 5 emails show - instead of the full Inbox I would have expected.

Is there anyway I can re-associate the Inbox.msf file process rebuild/repair to the correct Inbox file (the one that is 737 meg in this case)? I sure would like to get my inbox messages back (and file them away i/o leaving them there vulnerable to this kind of problem in the future).

Outlook email accounts are duplicating and asking for passwords which are in the password manager. T/B does not accept the entered password. Gmail accounts are also duplicating and adding weird passwords. Just started last week. Probably has something to do with the new Microsoft Authorizarion rules. It is a mess. I have been a lifetimme used if Mozilla and Thunderbird.

I first mentioned this in r/Firefox, and was asked to re-post here.

My FF just updated to 127.0.1 even though I have "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" and told it to wait. This was on a Windows 11 box. Everything seemed fine, but then one of my tabs crashed. I selected the reload tab option, at which point it informed me it could not load the tab because a background update had happened and I was now required to restart Firefox.

I'm not certain what version of FF I was on, I believe it was either 126 or 126.0.1.

Now, to be completely fair, I cannot with 100% certainty say that I clicked on the update later option. That said, as I _did not want to update then_, and I have put off the update before, it seems unlikely I would have made the mistake, but I wasn't recording everything I did so I can't play it back and prove it. My initial reaction was to associate it with the tab crashing somehow, as everything was working as expected right up until that moment.

I have Windows 11, Firefox yahoo email. I must have clicked somewhere that consolidated all my email to the left in a narrow format. Can't locate where to correct it. Also had no luck attaching a screen shot. Next to the condensed email, is another column that is blank except for the white envelope. Is there a place where I can change the format? Thank you.

I can't stay on this site for very long at all, and do my best to write out what I need as quickly as possible then leave. I would never contribute to answering any questions other then my own because how bright it is will eventually cause me pain.

In my view, it represents an amateurish view on website design and likely has an impact of skewing the regular user base to people that don't mind it.

After masking them with my duck duck go service, I can't find the link to verify my emails. Where can I see any return responses using my mask email?

When I used to take screenshots, they would be automatically named with the date, time, and part of the text captured regardless of language. A few days ago and with no reason I can discern, it now saves any non-English screenshots with something like this "Screenshot 2024-06-23 a[...].png" instead of "Screenshot 2024-06-22 at 08-02-28 Politics Policy Polit[...].png" (usual for English text and what I used to get with all languages).

Which means I have to manually rename screenshots. Does anyone know how I can fix this because I am working on a project with lots of screenshots for topics from different languages?

Not always, but frequently when I delete an email from an inbox, the other emails are hidden for awhile. This occurs whether I am pressing Del while the email is visible, or pressing Del with the email selected in the Inbox. If, however, I immediately open another folder and then re-open the inbox, all emails are instantly visible. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a "feature"?  ;-) Regards, Dave

have been using Thunderbird mail for about 3 years. It’s template selected the incoming and outgoing servers and ports etc..successfully. I've been connecting to Prodigy mail/ATT I had to change the battery and it doesn't work anymore. Can you help ???it checks the password until it shows an error message that the servers password or etc are wrong. I know the password is right since I can log in directly. Messages :

1- Configuration found in ISP Database

2- Checking Password (for a few minutes

3- Unable to log in at server..probably wrong configuration username or password

4 then nothing

Why won't Thunderbird send emails when connected to NordVPN? I have spoken to Spectrum and NordVPN and both of them have suggested that Thunderbird is the issue. I have confirmed that my SMTP settings are correct. I can send and receive from the Web client's site. I have turned off NordVPN and the sending process works as expected. However when I turn NordVPN back on, my outgoing emails are blocked.
