Dear support, I got an e-mail from Microsoft, that they're not gonna allow regular password authentification coming September and I've had trouble connecting one of my two hotmail.com-accounts for months now (the apparently common problem where it claims that the password is incorrect - which it isn't). I thought, it's a perfect opportunity to fix both these issued by getting the OAuth2 thing to work. I'm on Windows 11 using TB 115.12.2 I can't get it to work : ( I did all the steps in this article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/microsoft-oauth-authentication-and-thunderbird-202 except that I couldn't select OAuth2 for my former smpt outgoing server (sorry if I'm using these words wrong, I really have no expertise in this area) "smtp-mail.outlook.com" - it's not in the dropdown menu. I tried forcing it in over the confid editor (which worked, I mean, I could open the pop-up again and it would have the OAuth2 selected), but no mails. I tried to instead just put in that office365 server that is given in all the examples (since I don't know how anything works, I thought I'd give it a try). There I could regularly select the OAuth2, but it still didn't work. I should get some pop-up or browser-thing or something to do this fun verification thing but I don't and I really don't know what to do.. I tried resetting everthing back to it's former state but now my main hotmail-account also has the wrong-password-problem... : (( Do you have any good ideas? I changed setting for 'unsent message' from 'alert me' to 'no'. Suddenly 'in' for ljboland@verizon.net show no read nor unread 'in box' and the Sent messages do not appear as tho there are none but on top ' 2201 messages' is shown.

I can't get my comcast.net account to work since installing 115.12.2. Is there a way to go back and install the previous version of Thunderbird. I've tried comcast's support and that have not had any success in helping me. The previous version worked fine.

I have been fighting this for a while but I do not receive emails from people with gmail accounts. My email service is from gmx.com that I access from thunderbird. Several months ago I suddenly stopped getting my wife's emails. She now texts me if she needs to send me something. Now the same problem with my daughter's gmail account. I have not received emails from some others that are probably also gmail accounts. I don't seem to have a problem getting emails from accounts other than gmail.

If I go to the gmx site, the emails are there but they are not being downloaded by thunderbird. Thunderbird does download all the other emails, just not the ones from gmail accounts. I have checked my message filters and there are no filters that reference gmail. How can I fix this?

Just received an email stating that after Sept 1, Microsoft will no longer support the use of third-party email apps without use of 'Microsoft’s modern authentication methods'.

What does this mean for Thunderbird?

I can't setup a new Gmail account because (1) Thunderbird won't let me finish the setup until it tests the account at Gmail, but (2) Gmail won't let me finish setting until they they can sent me a setup email to me at my new address on Thunderbird. It's a Catch 22. What do I do? Thank you.

Any anyone ever had Thunderbird Email Filter REALLY work? I never have.

- Some emails do get sent to my Junk Folder (where I have it assigned to go to). - Some emails are noted as Junk, but not filtered to the Junk Folder (please see Image). - Some emails are still coming thru as normal emails, with no notification.

I've added an Image of how I set the Email Filter for every SPAM email.

I got an email from Microsoft saying my Live.com or Outlook.com email accounts won't be supported in Thunderbird UNLESS I change the settings to OAuth2 in incoming and outgoing server settings.

I even REMOVED the email account and re-added it making sure it was OAuth2.

But for my live.com & outlook.com email accounts I continually get prompts for passwords from Thunderbird. Sometimes I can't even click the RED X at the upper right to shut the prompt down. I just happens over and over until I give it what it wants.

I am tempted to shut down all Microsoft email accounts and switch to Gmail.

I have Thunderbird version 115.12.2 (64-bit) I used Windows 11 23H2 build 22631.3810 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1020.0

Any idea how to stop these prompts?

I like Thunderbird much more than any other email program I have ever used, and would like to keep it

Hi, I am planning the switch from GroupWise into a hosted mail solution - using Thunderbird as the client. I have with issues connected Thunderbird to the current GW server but I only see and get 4,000 emails in the Sent folder - the server has well over 11,000. How can I force Thunderbird to read them all? Best regards

Why every time i run thunderbird and if i leave it open too often it bring me the error message for all hotmail/outlook mail accounts i have???

What the heck is happening and how i can solve this?

I downloaded Thunderbird 120 and installed. All I get is error message saying windows is searching for thunderbird.exe and nothing else. Old version has disappeared and I can not uninstall - get same searching for uninstall.exe. I have tried re-downloading it and re-installing it 4 or 5 times, still nothing. help please.

Tried installing v115 latest on Ubuntu. Hangs when I try to set up email acc and it tries to log into the Gmail server. "Danger ahead" displayed on page with no option to force it to proceed.

Thus please dispense with any solutions for this and just inform how I can install v91.1.2 using apt-get

I see you list the versions but I see no where on how to specify which version to install.

I have a new computer and when I go to Thunderbird to download it downloads, asks me for a donation, which I paid. Then the next screen says Just one more step. Finishing installing. Nothing happens and there is no icon to click on. Any ideas what may be wrong?

Windows 11 root drive failed. With new drive and fresh install I reloaded my email from back-up and all went well!

Of course I lost email between last back-up and drive failure (as expected). I have subsequently been able to recover data from the failed drive and I can see the data from the time between back-up and drive failure.

Is there any mechanism to merge those message back into my active mail storage?

How can I change the subject prefix (Re:, Fwd:, etc.) ? I would prefer "RE:" to "Re:" for my outgoing mails. "mailnews.localizedRe" handles recognition of incoming subject prefixes, but I found no pref for my outgoing mails. Thank you!

Does "mailnews.localizedRe" still work? If yes, how?

The (preinstalled) default value is "AW,Aw,aw". But when I reply to a message whose subject line begins with "AW:", Thunderbird prepends it with "Re:", so that after a few back and forths we have silly subjects like "Re: AW: Re: AW: Re: AW: .............. ".

Has "mailnews.localizedRe" stopped working? Or how can I get it to work? Thank you!
