For some time now when I click a link to something from a different web page it opens in a new window. Or if I select the option "open new windows in a new tab instead" then any links to a different website open in a new tab. For example If I search for something in Google, then click any of the search results. The result opens in a new website. However If I click something else from the Google website e.g. "Shopping" Then this opens in the same page.

The results is very irritating as I end up with hundreds of windows (or tabs) open.

I suspect this is a setting rather than a bug as it is 100% of the time.

Any ideas guys? I would love to go back to normal browsing

被選擇的解決方法

its according to the website your viewing. Some website code is wriiten to open the link in same page/tab or new page/tab.

if it opens more than one page per click, then check out for malware/thread.

AAhh thanks.

you stimulated me to think of this problem another way. The problem was not a firefox issue it was a Google setting issue
