I'm experiencing an issue with Thunderbird that started unexpectedly. Whenever I try to access my email, I get a warning message saying that "The site certificate is not valid for this server. Someone may be trying to impersonate the server. It is not recommended to proceed."

I'm not sure why this error has suddenly appeared, as everything was working fine before. I haven’t made any changes to my email settings or installed new software recently. Has anyone else encountered this issue or knows how to resolve it?

I am trying to update my Thunderbird settings to account for the new MSN authentication process. Everything worked fine checking the cookie settings and updating the authentication method for my MSN account imp server. When I went to update the outgoing server setting, there is no OAuth2 showing in the authentication box. Aside from normal password, there is encrypted password, Kerberos/GSSAPI and NTLM. I think my current version of Thunderbird, 128.1.0esr, is up to date. Are you able to explain to me what I need to do? Thank you for any assistance you can give.

I had about 170 notes in my Notes APP on my iphone. I didn't know that there was an email sent for each to my email folder. I had a lot of emails in my Inbox, so I started deleting them. Since I didn't know the emails from my Notes APP were in there, they were deleted. After doing a lot of looking I finally found the Notes in the Trash folder. For some reason they have now disappeared from my Trash folder. There were a lot and they looked different than normal emails. I know I didn't delete them on purpose or by accident. I don't know where they are. Do you have any idea if they can be found anywhere? I had notes in there going back ten years. I just don't understand why they would disappear. I don't know when this happened, though. It could have been one to two weeks ago. Thank you, Nancy

Hey, I am wondering: If someone has a Mozilla Account, would it be a separate account from Thunderbird? Do users also need a different username and password if they are also using Thunderbird, or does their Mozilla login work for all services under the Mozilla umbrella?

For lack of anything better I'm using TBird as an HTML editor.

I'm writing a rather long paper that includes many images. Backing up as I go, I use the 'Export Message As > HTML Format > Messages And Attachments' ... and it works fine and processes the images this way:

Anyway -- this is kinda hard to explain -- as long as I was 'working within TBird' everything was fine, but I ended up modifying my HTML via text editor to do a few things that were impossible to do in the graphical TBird screen (tweaking some math equations). So now my draft message needed to be updated with the new HTML. I use 'Insert > HTML' and paste in the entire contents of my paper and then Send it to myself. I get it back, open it and there's no images, just blank boxes.

But ... and this is interesting ... if I then take that message and save it again as HTML (as above) then if I view that HTML in FireFox, voila! It shows the images. So how can I take my HTML, import it to an email and then 'Edit As New Message' or whatever trick is needed to have the paper back with it's images intact? I hope that's not too confusing.

email sign-on repeatedly asks for imap and other parameters to be re-entered on both google email and mozilla thunderbird. Please try to help and/or call me at 614-218-5719 EST

The new edition released today doesn't allow the Keyboard "Return" Key to accept the recommended spelling correction. You must now click the "Replace" Icon in the Check Spelling Pop-up. Is there a setting/other where this can be adjusted/modified so that the Keyboard Return Key works again?

I have a problem with not receiving emails. My inbox is 100% full even after I deleted emails from the last couple of months. Can I ask for help? My thunderbird email is: gajos@muzeumgpe-chorzow.pl.

Hello, I transferred my emails from online MAC to local folders on an external drive, then re-copied them as my local folders on the WIN laptop... Yet after re-starting, the emails subject only shows-up while the message shows 0 bytes, despite the Inbox file shows >8GB, but is not recognized/read by the app. (seems to me indexing was lost?). Tried to import the file from the app's tool, but it didn't work as the tool expected a profile or outlook file. Any help to migrate my emails in a readable format? Thx.

When I try to forward a message, the document format gets encoded and shows up with a bunch of technical details like ""Delivered-To:", "X-Google-Smtp-Source:", "X-Received:" and many others. I haven't included the data to the right of each item, as I'm not sure what it means or how it's related to solving the issue of the encoded format. This problem started after the latest update was installed. Can anyone advise me on what steps I should take to be able to forward email messages in a readable format? Why do duplicate sub-folders appear in Thunderbird? In my personal folder I now have Sent and Sent Messages, bothe 'special' folders which can't be deleted. I have a similar situation in an folder for another email address (Sent + Sent Messages) AND in my Gmail folder, where not only are there 'Sent' & 'Sent Mail' folder but also two 'Drafts' folders as well as a 'Junk' folder and a 'Spam' folder. Each duplicate sub-folder contains slightly different messages and none can be deleted. See the attached image with the duplicates indicated.

What's going on and how can I resolve it to rationalize/simplify the structure?

I've tried importing my old profile into the new profile. I get the following message: Import failed unexpectedly, more information may be available in the Error Console. Can I copy and paste folders like my old LOCAL and CALENDAR folders into my new profile?
