Since update to ver 128.1.0esr the "new subfolder" feature does not work (does not show window to name new folder). I have many subfolders and I rely on them heavily. I tried restarting Thunderbird, then Windows. I ran in debug mode with no success. I downloaded and installed 128.2.0esr again. No change.

Is it possible to go back to the earlier version? Which is? Thanks, Frederick

I tried to open a 'Punchbowl evite' from a friend, but was required to 'log into my email server again through the evite portal.' RED FLAG. I (stupidly) did, or tried to. The evite never opened, but the friend who appeared to have sent it said her email had been hacked and her whole address book had been receiving these 'Punchbowl evites.' This is an infection or phishing, which has disabled my Thunderbird. Even when I try to read an old AOL email already downloaded to my computer by Thunderbird, this fake AOL log-in page pops up, but at the top it says 'https://tsdtocl.com/'. I tried changing my direct AOL password. I tried blocking this website on Google Chrome using the 'Block Site' extension. Neither had any effect. Thunderbird is still locked out of my AOL, and the fake AOL website keeps popping up.

I would appreciate any advice you can offer.

I have just got the update for Supernova release running under Thunderbird Portable . I have a load of issues

1) Some tabs to get ADDRESS BOOK and SETTINGS in the tools menu dont show anything at all. Nothing happens when I click them.

2) When I look in ABOUT it says it cant check for updates due to internal error.

The basic functions work but I cant update settings or add to my address book because it wont give me the screens to do it and it wont update due to the internal error.

I have used thunderbird portable for years with no problem but tese are just the disasters I have found so far.

Reading the version notes on 128 it wasn't clear to me all that is changing. I am very happy with 115. The layout I use is the Folder view with a folder pane and a message pane. I do not use the cards view. Will this setup be essentially the same in 128?

Also, now that you have the new code will upgrading break my add-ins like it always used to before 115? The add-ins I currently use are: FileLink provider for Send, Header Tools Improved, and PopmailListRecipients.

I think that I need to completely uninstall TB Something went wrong on one of my computers, and it couldn't connect to the server. It works on my other computer.

I decided to uninstall TB that had the problem. I did that, but when I reinstalled it, it had all of the same settings and problems. I used RevoUnstaller. because it said When I reinstalled it, all of the stuff and the problem were back.

What is the best way to fix this?

Unable to receive/send emails using my email account (janet.eaton@live.com). Keep getting "login to server imap-mail.outlook.com" with my username failed. I'm able to receive/send emails on iPad and iPhone but not on Windows laptop. This started on July 26th. I also have an outlook account that I don't use...I use the mozilla thunderbird program to manage/organize all emails. Where do I go from here? Debugging message filters and want to see the log. From message filters window I click box "Filter Log". It brings up the small config box of which a pic is attached. I can't find anyway to actually see or access the log. It must be hiding here somewhere ? ?

I have tried to clear the log so it is small in case it is large and takes long to load as I've seen elsewhere. No change.

I try to look this the "Activity Manage" which has some log like error messages but it is a mess of unordered seemingly random successes and some failures. This is another topic.

So, any guidance on how to use the filter log would be greatly appreciated.

I have been trying to send emails but I'm unable to, when ever I try sending an email I get this message "Sending of the message failed: The message could not be sent because connecting to outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again."

Is there anyway this can be fixed? If so it would be a lot of help. Thank you.

I've been using Thunderbird for years and have always had this issue, but it seems more prevalent now. It's getting a bit annoying so I'm looking for a solution. I've googled it, there are plenty of references to difficulties with formatting "as sent" not being "as received", but in this case I'm talking about a formatting issue that happens immediately in Thunderbird, has nothing to do with the receiving system.

Here's the deal...

I routinely send out batches of emails that use a specific template for formatting. I need to use HTML format because I often highlight and underline things that I've found if I don't will not be seen. To avoid much back and forth from people who did not read the email properly, I want to bold face and underline some key things.

The first example here is "what it looks like before I click Send". It shows proper paragraph structure, normal blank lines between each paragraph, etc.

The second image is what it looks like "after I click Send". It looks like this even in the "outbox" (if I'm sending later) and it hasn't even yet gone out. Appearance is identical in the sent items, and I've had recipients respond to me by replying to the original email and can see they received it formatted as in the screen shot.

Usually it either adds line breaks where none exist, or removes line breaks, merging two paragraphs together.

I've tried composing in an external editor that allows me to see non-printing characters and making sure there is just a single line break between paragraphs (and that line break is THERE), then pasting into Thunderbird. That seems to help, but if I then save that as a template and re-use it in the future, more and more weirdness creeps into it as I bring it up, change some of the verbiage to reflect the current case, and send.

What is going on here, how do I fix this? I've used Outlook for decades, have done similar things with it and have never had this issue. There's nothing "different" I'm doing when composing these - type type type, carriage return, type type type.... Perfectly normal stuff.

Is there a setting somewhere that either prevents this from happening or at least allows me to see non-printable characters so I can recognize them and fix that before it is sent?
