I've chosen Tips and tricks, hopefully it means this will be an article/explanation instead of a question. I had the opposite problem to PDF files should not download, only open in browser and was happy to find out in the OP attachment that the action for each file-types could be changed. I didn't want my bandwidth strain of having to download PDF twice anymore (especially ones with many images).

I was going to leave the following on a comment of the other thread but it was locked.

I have no trouble to log in to outlook.com but thunderbird says its the wrong password, Ihave changed it 3 times and it still says wrong password, I like thunderbird but don't understsnd what is wrong at the moment.

Apologies if this has been discussed before here, but in Thunderbird 128.1.0esr (64-bit) the All Events option is missing for calendar searches, which means it is no longer possible to search past events, see screenshot.

Hopefully the All Events option will be reintroduced soon?

Hello! When entering some (in tis case financial: https://www.nordnet.se/se) sites the time shown are exactly 2hours behind the system time. If system time is 11:15 (correct time zone in Sweden) the time shown on the site is 09:15. This is probably something that has to do with an update of Firefox. I have automatic update to Firefox but the problem has been there for some months although I have not been able to recognice it until the recent week. I have tried a "clean" new install of Firefox to a new directory with no import of bookmarks or anything but the problem is exactly the same. For your information I have tried a clean install of Duckduckgo browser which do not suffer this problem. But I want to keep with Firefox which I have used since at least 15years. I guess there is a "timestamp" or samething that have gone wrong, but should be easy to correct if you just know where to look. Best regards /Gunnar

bold textdownloading only produces " .part " files in my downloads directory. I had previously attempted a large file download but error message said it was not completed. Now cannot download anything

Hi This is the 3rd time I am making this inquiry. I have firefox across multiple macbooks, ipads and iphones. The sync feature is unable to sync/save password across devices. If I save a PW on one device, even if I force all the devices Firefox to force sync, nothing shows up on the other devices. Please advise...

I accidentally activated the OneDrive sync. After the mail directory were uploaded to the OneDrive cloud, thunderbird mail can only see each new mail title, but I cannot open these mails after I double click into them. It will just come back as directory and file not found. In other words, the paths are valid, but I can only see title without the preview nor the content of the emails.

File not found The file mailbox:///C:/Users/XXXXXX/MozillaMail/xxxxxx/Inbox?number=2704 cannot be found. Please check the location and try again.

Firefox 129.0 (64bit) - Windows 10 (with current updates)

Sometimes (except when I'm demonstrating the problem of course) a Google search simply hangs. In the search field (next to the shield & lock) the website for the search appears, eg https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=how+secure+are+android+phones or https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=nsw+service+parking+meter+app there is no other response and no activity in bottom left corner of the window.

Simply clearing history (history, cookies, cached files, but not site settings) fixes the problem and the search can then be repeated and new searches done until the next time, when it's a case of rinse & repeat. No other action is required, which would seem to suggest that the problem isn't elsewhere.

This problem affects both my wife's and my PC (same configs), and has for several weeks, sorry can't be more precise as to when it started.

I have added (as a start) some web shortcuts to my Firefox Focus home screen. However, they are cut off, so I can only see the top part of the label. I can work out what they are but what happens when I add more shortcuts? How can I see the whole shortcut and label, please? I'm using Android version 14.

I have Thunderbird set up to download email from my ISP to an inbox under that account. A few days ago I saw that when I deleted a message it did not go the the Trash folder. When I look at the properties of that folder it shows a blank for location and while the message is deleted from the inbox it disappears. I do not know how that location was lost or how to restore it to it's previous value.
