I am not able to search names in my individual Address Books. I have to scroll down the Contact List to find the name. How can I fix the Search feature in my Address Books?

In last few days some links and web URL's get redirected to Facebook pages. For example www.vh1.com redirects to https://www.facebook.com/VH1/. I have cleared cache and cookies. Oops just testing Chrome as I type this and the same thing happens there, so not Firefox solely. Still, anyone any suggestions where to start to look?

Have a new 2024 macbook pro m3 max with 128GB internal memory, 8tb ssd, macos (meest recente update) , and glass fibre internet connection of 1gb up and 1gb down and have used the same router and same ISP.

i use firefox in combination with nordvpn and multicontainer add-on to open multiple tabs with on each tab/containter the same video stream of 720p/3mb. Used to work perfect until a few weeks ago. In the beginning there is no problem, but after a while stream start to stutter and freezes completely and i get a blackscreen;. Tried every quick fix on the internet, and even increased the cache. Also tried different machines and issue is the same on each macos device.

how can i fix this?

Hi there, I have installed Fedora on my desktop and CAElinux on my laptop. In my laptop I have Thunderbird and for a while or subfolders were there. On my desktop I decided to try Kmail and all the subfolders disappear which most likely is because i didn't know much about Kmail. Then I tried using thunderbird on the desktop with the same settings that where working on the laptop and the subfolders dissapear. Then I turned on my laptop while my desktop was on and thunderbird on, and when i started Thunderbird on the laptop the subfolders disappeared. Seems like a domino effect. Now all the email are shown in one big list. If I open the email on the internet through the email provider all the subfolders are still there. Now I have removed Fedora from my desktop and installed an identical setup as the laptop. I don't dare to start Thunderbird on the desktop until i have recovered the subfoders in the laptop and I know that I am following the right path. Could someone please tell me how to recover the subfolders. Do I need to remove Thunderbird and re-install? If do so what other folders do I need to delete and where do I find them?

When i open uppercode in browser Firefox and push the hyperlink, Thunderbird start correctly a new message with content (subject and body). When i receive uppercode as message in Thunderbird and push the hyperlink, Thunderbird open an empty window (and from now all messages are empty). After restart Thunderbird all messages are visible again. Is it a bug?

I am trying to view streaming live broadcasts in my country's public TV but the site detected some HDCP issue and asked me to use a HDCP-certified HDMI cable. Here is some quick info and what I had tried:

+ Besides privacy reasons, I am unable to share the website address, as viewing is limited to my country's IP addresses by the national broadcaster. + I have a dual-monitor set up to a Windows and a MacOS machine, both installed with Firefox 129.0.2 with add-ons being synced. + Viewing live videos on the same website in Windows Firefox (HDCP-certified cable) has no issue but not on MacOS Firefox (same HDCP-certified cable but different HDMI port on the monitor). + Switching around the different HDMI ports and cables yield the same outcome. + No issue on either Windows or MacOS when viewing recorded videos though. Only live streaming on MacOS is affected. + Tried disabling all add-ons and toggling DRM but to no avail. + Checked Widevine is latest version (4.10.2710.0).

Hello I have been a Thunderbird user for decades now.

On one of my computer I have a 'misspelled' POP or IMAP server address error that pops up every time and it has become kind of annoying - I do not mean the SMTP server - that is easy to fix.

Since I keep a 'huge amount' of forwarders - i.e. aliases - I cannot go and check each one manually!

Is there a file within profile folder I can open with NotePad++ and amend error? Unless I missed something within the GUI and I do not need to amend a file directly. I am not into this part and I am asking you 'nerdy friends' (I am one for other things!).

I'm trying to copy the data from a PC running xubuntu 2022 onto one running Ubuntu 2024.

I'm following the instructions here (https://www.google.com/search?channel=fs&client=ubuntu-sn&q=moving+thunderbird+data+to+a+new+computer) and all seems to work up to and including "On your destination computer" step 7 (Close Thunderbird). Step 7 "From your Thunderbird profile folder in File Browser, go up two levels" - this sends me to "Common". Step 8 Right click inside the folder, then select Paste.

Here's the problem: we're not told what to click on, but I assume it's ".thunderbird", which only contains 11 items although apparently 348 were transferred. Clicking on empty space (I tried that in desperation) doesn't work. I'm probably overlooking something obvious, but I can't see what that might be. Any suggestions gratefully received. In the meantime, I will keep trying and if I somehow get it to work I'll let you folk know.
