When trying to download a Firefox update or a PDF file, instead of displaying a popup for specifying a download location only a small menu appears and the screen locks up. If I'm lucky I can unlock Firefox using the ESC key; otherwise I have to do a Force Quit. I've included screenshots showing what I'm seeing along with what I should see.

A few weeks ago I accidentally allowed Firefox to Block Youtube from making Viewing suggestions to me. Now when I go to Youtube from Firefox, all I get is a Blank screen. I want to REVERSE THAT decision and ALLOW youtube to make suggestions to me. Please help me get back to AS IT WAS BEFORE, or if you could do that for me would be great . Thanks Anand

I have a somewhat elderly version of Linux, which I cannot upgrade for a variety of reasons, using FF-55.0.3, which is "plugged in" to all the local audio-video libraries, but also runs a current Mozilla-128.0.3 binary, which cannot access those libraries. I use both on a regulat basis. Recently "55" lost history tracking and cannot make new bookmarks (however old boolmarks are still present). How can i restore 55's ability to track history and make new bookmarks without losing what's there? Is there a relevant variable or two in about:config I can reset?

I had to install to a new computer, Windows 10 Pro. I set the Download option to ask for where to save but Firefox is not giving choice. I have closed and re-opened Firefox since changing setting 128.0.3 (64-bit)

Clicking on the GOOGLE search box in the address bar automatically opened it but since 7/25/2024, I have to type 1 character in the GOOGLE search box for it to open. What's happened? I cleared all cookies, removed and then added GOOGLE search back in the address bar and I don't have AdBlocker Ultimate. I have adblocker for Youtube & FB along w/FBcontainer because w/o it it's a joke trying to watch anything. I tried the suggestions to disable but it didn't work. I have no idea why you're even suggesting not using an adblocker. That's been the #1 reason people have downloaded FF is because of the different, usable & functional adblockers. I started using NN; which turned into Mozilla; for that reason....adblocking/pop-up blocking features and add-ons. Since it's not the adblocker in my case, what next?

Over a week ago my videos on Utube quit working. I click on video and it starts to load but it never does load and start. The rotating circle never stops. If I click on the progress bar the popup shows the frame of the video so the info is in the machine. I had problems with cloudflare but I finally got rid of that garbage. It did not help with the video problem. I am running Windows 11 on an HP Pavilion that is about year old. It has 32 g of ram and 500g of storage. Windows and Firefox are up to date. I have rebooted and refreshed Windows and uninstalled Firefox but that does not help. I have no other problems, Chrome and Edge do not have the problem. I have an old HP desktop that runs windows 11 (slowly) and Firefox runs U Tube videos on it with no problems.

This is pretty much the same as https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/801343 back in Firefox 3.x → 4 times. I do recall having the same problem then, and disabling hardware acceleration did fix it back then, but it no longer does.

I’m currently on 115.3 ESR, but I’ve observed this for a while in Quantum (I don’t recall seeing it on Gecko with HW accel disabled).

I noticed there are 2 FF and 2 FF private browsing icons in win 11 under "start", "all apps". I don't see a way to delete 1 of each. is there a reason they are there maybe? I'd like to remove the 2 duplicates if not. thanks

I have been using Firefox for a long time and truly enjoy it. However, lately it has problems loading websites. It can delay for two or three minutes to load gmail, citicards, Schwab, etc. I do not have the problem when I switch to Chrome. Therefore, it has to be something with Firefox. If this cannot be resolved I will switch, reluctantly, to Chrome.

I would love for someone to help point me in the right direction as to why my Firefox tabs are constantly crashing, especially on high memory usage websites like webmail or youtube.

I'm wondering if it could be related to a potentially faulty processor, as I recently had to RMA my i9 14900k processor, and modify the bios for stability even after I got a replacement, just to get applications to stop crashing and the OS to stop blue-screening.

Two days ago firefox would not play youtube videos. I select a video from my home page and the screen turns black and I see a spinning circle. Then an ad will appear darkened and I can skip. When I do the screen returns to black. This does not happen on any other source. It does not happen when I use Microsoft Edge.

I have an old Mac which still works fine, but this latest change to Firefox sort of came out of the blue, so I had not prepared or considered buying an upgraded Mac? Then I saw that Firefox were offering a 2 month overlap solution, whereby I could download an Firefox ESR extension which I have since done, which seems to be working, albeit I have now found that it seems Microsoft (I hate those people) have interfered in that I can no longer format any Word documents as I have previously been able to do, when writing to clients using my business profile Matrix letterhead etc, moreover I also have a Skype phone (which is fully credited) yet now when I try to call someone on Skype, whilst I can hear them, they cannot hear me? So I am now wondering, whether your ESR temporary solution doesn't interface with those Microsoft products? I have tried speaking with Microsoft, but honestly it is like talking to a brick wall, as all they are interested in is forcing people like me to pay U.S.D $65 to speak with some Tech head who invariably doesn't know the answer anyway! I would very much appreciate your advise?

Is there a way to force FF to use HTTP/3? There are multiple instances (youtube, for example) when site says "alt-svc: h3", but FF ignores it and keeps using at best HTTP/2.

I don't even move my mouse or do anything, and video is pausing randomly without any of my input. It doesn't have any frequency, it just happens. You can see it on video below. I watched nearly 5 minutes of a random video, and it paused 4 times without any reason. As you can see, everything I do is just moving my mouse a little and that's it. No more input from me. Un known command and why CMD.exe not support the setting only (dir) only is enable. If I use help command ( the command I see is command on json like (HTML) is shud i install CMD.exe or remix.org commanf is this possible can i use this tnx..

Configuration details are below. The Firefox desktop for Windows address bar does not function [it was fine previously]. If search keys or an internet address are entered into it, carriage return results in no action. The address bar is fully functional in Troubleshooting Mode. Shortcuts on the New Tab page or the desktop DO function.

AVAST virus checker reveals no malware.

I've no idea how to resolve this. Solution[s] welcome and appreciated.
