I have been trying to get help with Thunderbird for an issue with not receiving my emails and not being able to send any emails since June 12th of 2024. Nothing has worked with the little support from this site. Please help!

I'm currently using Thunderbird 115.7.0 (64 bit) portable version on Windows 10. For many years I have ordered my emails by using subfolders, with a large one called 'Archives'. When another folder such as 'EE' becomes non-current I simply drag and drop it to the 'Archives' folder. However now the archives folder is so large and irrelevant that when searching for emails, I get thousands of results from up to 15 years ago. So, how can I archive emails so that they are easily accessible, but so they don't come up in an all encompassing "All folders" search?

In Thunderbird [Ctrl]+[B] doesn't initiate Bold text, in fact those keystrokes don't do anything at all. Any ideas as to why and how I can make this shortcut work? The other shortcuts for Italics and Underline work fine. Thank you for your time.

Hello- I want to add some verbiage before my business card that I have add to my Signature. see image - How do I include the Warm Regards, name, number? I did add on "advanced composer" but cannot find how to use it in FF Thanks for the help

I'm on IMAP. I having a working knowledge of Thunderbird, but not a whiz by any means.

Since I have both personal and business emails, I keep them historically. I delete what I don't think I'll ever need to refer to.

When my email storage, gets into the 90's, I get nervous. I go through and delete as many emails as possible, and sometimes manage to get the percentage to go down 1 percent.

So... I'm a little confused. I thought that perhaps this was syncing with the Comcast server, and that the percentage was not for any Thunderbird storage. Is Thunderbird storing on another server?

What should my settings be, so that I can maintain all my email on my computer? I don't need to store it on any server. I'm afraid to make any adjustments for fear of losing email on my computer.

Is there someone who can walk me through this process in steps I can understand? LOL

I know I am set up with IMAP.

have been using Thunderbird mail for about 3 years. It’s template selected the incoming and outgoing servers and ports etc..successfully. I've been connecting to Prodigy mail/ATT I had to change the battery and it doesn't work anymore. Can you help ???it checks the password until it shows an error message that the servers password or etc are wrong. I know the password is right since I can log in directly. Messages :

1- Configuration found in ISP Database

2- Checking Password (for a few minutes

3- Unable to log in at server..probably wrong configuration username or password

4 then nothing

I received a notification from @hotmail and @live that I won't be able to receive or send mail after Sept 17th without taking action - what steps should I take when I don't have Microsoft Office 360?

I was looking for an email I expected to find in my Inbox, and found that a message filter was applied to move it to another folder. I can see the filter log entry for this action.

This filter consists of 9 specific email matches ( From "is" ....); the message that was moved is NOT in this filter list.

When I moved the message back to my Inbox, it was moved again.

Any ideas on how to stop this happening? Can I even trust filters?

I recently deleted all my filters as I was not sure they were working correctly, and recreated them carefully. I currently have 10 filters, a few are one off created from a message, and none have more than 10 matching requirements.

I have attached an image of the filter at issue, and here is the filter log entry:

Why? Actual bug? DB problem?

I have done a custom install of TB on D:\ drive, moved Profiles folder to D:\, verified that account settings/server settings have local directory pointing to D:\ drive.

Can I delete all TB files on C:\? TB still *seems* to be using those files. I really need to free up space on C:\ - tiny drive filled with Windows OS, huge D:\ with nothing on it.

I have been using Thunderbird for some time and it has served me well. I used it to manage my gmail accounts with encryption and so on.

Recently I have deleted one of my gmail accounts and when I launch it Thunderbird asks me to log in to that account. "Sign in to continue to Mozilla Thunderbird Email" And I am supposed to enter my email.

I have checked the account settings: the old account (let's call it old@gmail.com) is no longer there. I have also removed the outgoing SMTP server for the old account.

I do not know how to stop the app from asking me to log in to an nonexistent account.

My wife discovered today that all email had disappeared from her inbox! She doesn't know how or why and neither do I. She is running Thunderbird 1.15 under Windows 7. I have already tried the Windows restore function on the INBOX and it didn't work. Tried a number of other methods and none worked. In looking around the Thunderbird directory and noticed a bunch of files named nstmp-1, 2 3 and 4. nstmp-4 has this morning date-time on it and viewing it in an editor it seems to be a backup of the INBOX. Is this true, and can it be used to rebuild her INBOX.

Unable to export bookmarks file. When I go to 'Manage Bk Mks' it is blank and states 'no items' (see screenshot) but I have all my bookmarks in the in the usual left hand pane. I've asked this question before and received no response. Can anyone help please?

I use the android version of your email app. I love it, easy to use and almost use the "Unified" Inbox all the time.

It would be nice to nice to have this facility for any type of account.

With about 60G of accumulated e-mail in several Microsoft accounts, I moved all accounts into T-bird and put most in local folders. This somehow became over 600G in size. Everything works and compacting seems to be getting done since it's been working some weeks now. Yet this ten-fold increase in size is unwieldy and very difficult to backup. Perhaps related, I notice that M'soft's "new" free Outlook app is present and perhaps running on this computer. And all the e-mails I send from my main Hotmail account are listed twice in the T-bird sent folder. About half of the times I start T-bird, I get a message saying that login to server outlook.office365.com with username xxxxxxxx@hotmail.com failed; the other accounts never do this. T-bird offers to retry, but that usually ends with a repeat of the same message. I've learned that if I let it open, with time, the e-mails do appear, though I don't know how or why. I've also been using Libreoffice successfully for months now though I doubt that anything to do with this. T-bird nicely solved the original e-mail oversize problem I had with Microsoft's size limitations and I'd appreciate advice on how to deal with what's happening.

I have an address in my address book that I received many emails from. About a month ago they started going to the bulk folder. How do i get that address restored so i can receive emails from them?

Followed the instructions in the article and cannot send email (SMTP error) "Login to server smtp.office365.com with username xxxxx#outlookcom failed"

Tried a new profile - no change Followed directions for using config editor and deleting two items - no change Could go back to original settings (turn off OATH2) but have to get it working by Sept so might as well slay the beast now.
