I’ve just signed in to my Firefox account for the first time in approximately two years. I’ve deliberately clicked “Later” when it suggested to sync my data. A few seconds later I found myself with messed up preferences, merged extensions, what else? (And that’s the worst that I don’t know what else is wrong.) There are three absolutely wrong things here: Sync has enabled despite I had explicitly said no; it didn’t ask what to sync before syncing; and it’s absolutely unclear how it resolves conflicts. I would very much like to know what exactly data was affected and what exactly had happened to it, and how Sync handles conflicts, especially in regards to extensions’ data. Thanks.

How do I block the 'You are seeing this message because ad or script blocking software is interfering with this page. Disable any ad or script blocking software, then reload this page.' ?

I have been using ublock origin add-on for years without any issues. For the past few weeks, pop up videos as well as above alert message appears on several news sites. Is this a glitch with the add-on or firefox browser issues?

Many thanks!

Try disabling ad blockers and other extensions, enabling javascript, using a different web browser or turning off your VPN.

I have a premium Pocket account. I have pocket set to display suggested articles on the Firefox 'home page'. Out of the blue several weeks ago I clicked on 'more' to save an article to pocket and the pocket choices did not include 'save to pocket.' The choices given are: bookmark, open in a new window, open in a new private window, dismiss. Also when I move the cursor to 'more' a pinterest 'save' appears beside 'more'. I used to have the pinterest 'save' extension but I deleted it.

How do I get rid of the pinterest save and how can I get the correct 'more' choices, i.e. save to pocket back?

I've done everything I know to do and nothing has worked. At present I am right clicking on the articles I would have saved to pocket (each article to a new tab) and then I use the One Tab extension to save them in a group. I have attached a screenshot.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

I'm working on a web app and need to be able to test it locally. Firefox has no decided to allow only HTTPS when trying to access this specific app. I have tried removing it from history, but it makes no difference. I've restarted Firefox, I've restarted the machine. Nothing seems to work. Typing in "http://localhost<remainder of URL>" does not work, Firefox simply changes my explicit request for HTTP to HTTPS and access to the site fails.

This is not a general setting. I have other web apps I've been working on that are all accessible in Firefox and are being accessed using HTTP rather than HTTPS. It seems that Firefox has selected this specific app. In particular, HTTPS-only mode is obviously not enabled.

How do I get Firefox to accept that when I type in HTTP://... that I actually mean HTTP://... and not HTTPS://...?

When attempting to log-in to a website (Credit Karma) I have previously visited many times with FireFox, I was presented with something new - something I eventually have come to believe is the Canvas Permission Prompt, as described here:

 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-protection-against-fingerprinting

Not knowing what the prompt wanted from me, I foolishly clicked on the "Don't Allow" button feeling that was the safest thing to do, but realized only as I was clicking the button that the "Always remember my decision" checkbox was default-checked. And as I feared, now whenever I go to the site login page, I am unable to click into the User Name or Password boxes to fill-in my info and nor can I click on the "Log In" button. All other links on the page still seem to work, though.

I have attempted these possible fixes in the about:config list: 1. privacy.resistFingerprinting - I had previously set this to True as per suggestions from several YouTube posters expounding their opinions on safety and security and have been operating with this setting for many months. I tried setting it back to its default False state and restarting FireFox, but the problem still persists. 2. privacy.resistFingerprinting.autoDeclineNoUserInputCanvasPrompts and

privacy.resistFingerprinting.randomDataOnCanvasExtract - These two looked interesting because of the "Canvas" text and I found them to be set to their default True values since the installation of FireFox. I have individually set them each to False followed by a FireFox restart, but still the problem persists.

So how do I get the Canvas Permission Prompt to be reset/restored so I can use the login page to get to my account.

Thx

I am trying to run firefox unofficially run a windows vista Virtual Machine using the Windows Vista Extended Kernel, but is says the the dll "api-ms-win-core-sysinfo-l1-1-0.dll" is missing. It did this a couple of times and i was able to copy over all other dlls, but after placing this one in Windows,System32,Program Files/Mozilla Firefox and SysWOW64 and re-registering it, it still gives me an error. Could you please provide the location of the required dll since it can't find it.
