I became interested in Thunderbird again after the renovations, and I installed it just now, keeping my Outlook client as the default email app(reconfirmed in Windows 11 settings). Both my Outlook client 2016 and the new Thunderbird installation are POP3.
My intent and hope was to not have any past received emails download initially, unless and until I made Thunderbird my default email app. However, along with the Thunderbird app download, 900+ emails immediately appeared in my T-bird inbox, which was an unpleasant surprise. So these 900 emails were in my Outlook inbox, apparently. But why did these emails auto-download to Thunderbird at installation, given that Outlook was the default? Doesn't being a non-default email app mean that no emails will show up while the app is in that status? Or, if it does not mean that for Thunderbird, should it not mean that?
