Hi, I believe in the past I was able to read an email by clicking on it and it would appear on the left of the main page. However, now whenever I click an email it opens in a new tab. This makes reading them take considerably longer. Is there any way to switch back to having them appear on the side instead of opening a new window/tab?

In Thunderbird, I would like to use Cards View, and sort each folder in my email account according to desired 'Sort by' settings (namely, sort by date in descending order and use the 'unthreaded' option).

I cannot locate a setting or an option to apply the desired sort settings to all folders in my account. Rather, it appears I must manually apply these settings to each folder, which is tedious given I have a large number of sub-folders in my inbox folder.

Is there a way to apply the settings for one folder to all others, or to change the default settings for each (existing) folder?

Hi. A previous thread was archived on this (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1418749) but it is still an issue in 115.12.2 (64-bit), macOS.

  1. Turn on Unified Folders.
  2. Mark the unified Inbox as a favorite. It appears in favorite folders.
  3. Restart Thunderbird.
  4. Other favorite folders still appear, but Inbox is gone. It is still marked as a favorite folder however.
  5. If you toggle the unified Inbox favorite on and off, it reappears.
