Hello friends,

As the title of the subject entails, I am trying to disable Firefox's new translation tool, becasue I'm using a 3rd party extension.

I tried to follow the solution on the following support thread ( [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1434741#question-reply] ), but it didn't work for me, and I'm still seeing the new translate button.

Is there another way to fix this?

I'm using Firefox 129.0.1 (64bit) for MacOS.

I know it may sound a bit strange, but I would like to know WHY an extension is not allowed in a private window, so I might understand the reason why I'm not able to diagnose an issue I'm having with fucking amazon who has their cart all over the place for a misconfiguration in firefox that either I did or an extension is causing, however I'm unable to figure out which because I can't enable extensions in private windows, where the issue does not happen, so I'm not able to reproduce and isolate the problem. Specifically, this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/extensions-private-browsing Plus, I was kinda expecting I could run STG in private too, since it offer such nice and rich grouping and memory management features vanilla FF does not (PS: please take inspiration and bake it inside!!) I need the information so that I can stay signed in permanently. In other words, not entering my password every time I use Roboform.

I've had the program for many years. I had to reinstall it.

I don't know who at firefox doesn't understand the point of fullscreen, but the address bar continues to pop up when the mouse reaches the top of the screen and there is no setting to turn this off. It is a comically incompetent choice. No, the chrome folder or extensions don't work. Might just switch back to chrome as this is a pattern with firefox's choices.

When I open a new page in Firefox, it is always at the bottom and I have to scroll all the way up to the top of the page? Very annoying!

When I open a .jpg file, the Firefox web browser window width is too big. I want to change the default window width. Which item in about:config controls this setting and what value should I enter to have a default window width of approximately half the screen size?

I have tried to modify 'browser.translations' related settings in 'about:config' page, but no luck so far. If I open the same link in Edge, page is shown without the bar.

Using Win 11 + Firefox 129.0.1.

In the older Firefox version (92), I could instantly open JNPL files by selecting "Open with Default Use JAVA (TM)". However, in the latest Firefox version 127, while the option is still available, it doesn't instantly open JNPL files. Every time I have to click to open the JNPL file.

I've been using Firefox for years on Windows 10 and earlier, and I just got a new Windows 11 laptop. On the new machine my bookmarks sidebar doesn't persist. I launch Firefox and open it, but when I exit Firefox and launch it again the sidebar is gone. I have to re-open it every time. This is not the behavior I experience on my other machines. Is there a setting in about:config that I need to change?

It's hard to describe what I mean without an example. I type "tart" into the search bar, and instead of the recently visited Wikipedia page on tarts, the autofill suggestions are full of pages in my history with "start" or "starter" in the title, or even in the URL but not the title. Is there any way to change it so the suggestions only contain the exact words I've typed?

I already turned pff the graphic tab preview, but the tab title still pops up when I move my mpuse pointer on a tab. I do not need this and find it terribly annoying. How do I completely deactive this?

I cannot find, from the Menu bar, Tools, Settings, General, scroll to bottom to Config Editor I have not been able to find this "Config Editor". I also did not find .css file in that I might be able to modify. I am not understanding why the option isn't present in the settings for Firefox!

I have checked the "Always ask you where to save files" box in settings, but it is being ignored. I tried clearing the the "Save Files to" field, but that doesn't empty.

Firefox 129.0.1 (64-bit) running under Win 10 Pro on a Dell XPS 8910.

I just downloaded Firefox and designated it as my default browser. The purpose was to get away from using Google Chrome; however, when I go into Firefox, the only options are to search with google????? Please let me know if this can be corrected.
