Since the last update, or perhaps the one before that, both I am my husband have been having trouble with tabs. We are both on Windows 11 but machines from different makers. It is my habit when researching to right click links to open interesting looking things in a new tab and then go back to read all the tabs in turn, the info sticks better that way than reading>searching>reading>searching. I have never had trouble with this before no matter how many tabs I had open, I have a powerful laptop.

Suddenly Firefox will act as normal and then after a bit the tabs don't load.I don't mean the rightclick/open in new tab doesn't work but the tab which opens will have nothing on it. Sometimes they will open properly in a new window but sometimes not. Also on the Daily Mail website the page doesn't seem to complete somehow; the relaod icon doesn't appear and you have to click the 'cross' to amke the page stop trying to fetch something (I presume). This doesn't happen with any other newspaper site.

I have refreshed Firefox, I have checked all my settings, I am not using a VPN or private windows, I have changed About:config dom.ipc.processPriorityManager.backgroundUsesEcoQoS to false to get rid of the eco leaf symbol showing in task manager I have Norton as my virus protection. I have closed and reopened the browser and switched the laptop on and off :-) I have read many things on this forum but I have'nt tried this yet as YouTube is not involved https://support.mozilla.org/mk/questions/1384439

So I am out of ideas and it is really annoying me. I have found many other people have this problem, I have been using Firefox for about 20 years and I don't want to have to change but will if I can't get this sorted out! Any help gratefully received, Mary

Beginning about a week ago, I have been unable to open LinkedIn Sales Navigator from Firefox. I am able to open Linkedin from Firefox and able to open Sales Navigator from other browsers.

There are 32 shortcuts on my home screen - 4 rows of 8 each. However, I accidentally "dismissed" one shortcut - now there are 31 total. I cannot figure out how to restore a shortcut. Is the solution in about:config (browser.newtabpage.pinned)?

Is there any option to add keyboard shortcut feature to built-in translator, so I can quickly enable/disable it? I use it a lot and I switch very often between original page and translation, and clicking every time at the icon in search-bar is a bit troublesome :P

Hi - I have always had recommended stories on new tab. Since upgrade to v128 they've disappeared.

I have been through all the troubleshooting but nothing works.

browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.system.topstories is set to 'true'

I need help understanding why my mozilla.cfg file is not working. I have read the steps on how to add the file and where its located with autoconfig.js file as well. My current situation is that the mozilla.cfg is in the MozillaFirefox root directory where the EXE lives as it states in your directions. My autoconfig.js file is in the defaults\pref folder where the channel-pref.js file lives. This is how its setup but it's still not applying my mozilla.cfg file. Can I please get assistance on why this is not functioning in any way. Thanks

Hi, I've been having a strange issue running Firefox browser on my Mac Pro M1. On websites like Figma or Maps, where the user can zoom in and out of a portion of the interface, my zoom-in pinches may cause the non-scalable part of the view to also zoom in. This happens if, by mistake, the starting position of my pinching is within the area of the non-scalable UI. See attached image as an example (the inspect tool remains of the right size, but as you can see, the left-hand-side interface is zoomed in, too).

If I try to restore the original size with the Cmd+- shortcut, the baseline is taken as my current zoomed-in view, so zooming out further just makes the text smaller in an already gigantic ui. Closing and reopening the tab also doesn't work.

Normally, performing the pinching-out gesture over the non-scalable part solves the problem. However, for some reason this stopped working today, and I'm now stuck with an unworkable view of Figma.

How can I fix this?

Several commands do not have corresponding keybindings. In particular, the ones I'm interested in are "Go one word to the left/right" as shown in the attached image.

Is there a reason why these are left out? Firefox is the only program on MacOS, that I have encountered, where it is impossible to have the caret skip words forward/backwards.

I can use Karabiner-Elements to fix whatever weirdness might exist, but not if Firefox has no way to actually trigger that command, nor a way to rebind keys in order to do so either.

Maybe I've missed something obvious.

PS: Writing this was annoying, exactly for the reason explained. The weird thing is that CTRL+backspace is the only "make key X operate on a whole word instead of a single character" that actually works. For example, "backspace" removes a single character in text edit fields. "ctrl+backspace" would remove the whole word.

PPS: I don't care too much if the modifier key is CTRL or CMD. I can rebind that. I just need it to either be *something*, or that one can set it to *something.

I am trying to understand how password less authentication with a FIDO2 security token works in Firefox over BLE transport.

Firefox uses authenticator-rs as Webauthn library which only supports USB-HID transport.

I am able to use a BLE security token to login to my google account however. How does that work if Firefox does not support that transport protocol?

Any help or direction to documentation on this topic is appreciated. So far I was not able to find an explanation for this online.

Hello, Is there any way to redirect firefox browser configuration (password tabs) to a specific location? I have chrome and Edge browser done this way, the configuration saves to the “profile.pb” file. It works great and without any problems,. Is there something similar in FireFox? I can't find it.

I would like to rename profile in roaming and local dirs for windows, but after I do it, addons are no longer visible in firefox. I guess I am missing something. What else do I have to do, when renaming profile dirs?

hi I am running my application which is easily running on chrome and edge in windows but unable to run on firefox. Can you please suggest what is the actual issue? We are getting output in every browser but not in firefox only. I did disable cache but still no output.

I think the image I attached might be a faux Firefox page. I think I did click on update earlier today before noticing the page is pretty empty. If I did so, what damage might it have done?

Is there a chance a hacker took over my whole Firefox account? I ask because just after that I was prompted to enter my info on the Mozilla help page. I couldn't remember my p/w, so I created a new one. This evening, when I tried to log in to the Mozilla support section, I had to create another new p/w. Then, when I tried to enter a secondary address as suggested, the page returned the message that another account was already using that address.

Can you help me sort this out? Might I have two Mozilla accounts? (It would be unlikely that neither of them would be recorded in my list of p/w's.) How can I check?

Tried to set up a secondary e-mail acct but screen says another account is already using it.

After updating my packages on Arch Linux, Firefox keeps crashing. I have tried almost everything from installing different versions, rolling back my Nvidia drivers, even reinstalling packages that I'd removed earlier that day. Nothing works apart from it running on X11.

Logs indicate that it's some problem with Wayland – something along the lines of a protocol error with wp_linux_drm_syncobj_surface_v1#61: error 5: No Release point provided. I have searched around for people with similar problems; although there are some others that are having some problems with Wayland and Firefox, this particular problem does not seem to be documented anywhere.

Here is a snippet from the crash report that may be useful: GraphicsCriticalError: [1][GFX1-]: Wayland protocol error: wp_linux_drm_syncobj_surface_v1#61: error 5: No Release point provided AdapterDriverVendor: nvidia/unknown AdapterDriverVersion: 555.58.2.0 ContentSandboxLevel: 4 IsWayland: 1

This happened on all Firefox versions I could try: official pacman release, flatpak, developer version, the 129 beta.
