I have a somewhat elderly version of Linux, which I cannot upgrade for a variety of reasons, using FF-55.0.3, which is "plugged in" to all the local audio-video libraries, but also runs a current Mozilla-128.0.3 binary, which cannot access those libraries. I use both on a regulat basis. Recently "55" lost history tracking and cannot make new bookmarks (however old boolmarks are still present). How can i restore 55's ability to track history and make new bookmarks without losing what's there? Is there a relevant variable or two in about:config I can reset?

I had to install to a new computer, Windows 10 Pro. I set the Download option to ask for where to save but Firefox is not giving choice. I have closed and re-opened Firefox since changing setting 128.0.3 (64-bit)

I realize Facebook doesn't have a spell check feature,but is there a way my browser, Firefox, which I already have spell check enabled can somehow spell check Facebook when I chat? Can someone help? Thank you.

Hi, i downloaded the browser like an hour ago because the youtube ads are annoying and i found a "Your browser is being managed by your organization." thingie on chrome, which led me to a virus (found with kasperky), ran windows defender and malwarebytes afterwards, nothing came up.

And so i thought all was good. I wanted to enable autoplay on youtube videos and when i was looking for that option in the settings i noticed this on the left corner again (added images).

Found a post in 2023 about the same thing but it doesn't answer nor help.

Clicking on the GOOGLE search box in the address bar automatically opened it but since 7/25/2024, I have to type 1 character in the GOOGLE search box for it to open. What's happened? I cleared all cookies, removed and then added GOOGLE search back in the address bar and I don't have AdBlocker Ultimate. I have adblocker for Youtube & FB along w/FBcontainer because w/o it it's a joke trying to watch anything. I tried the suggestions to disable but it didn't work. I have no idea why you're even suggesting not using an adblocker. That's been the #1 reason people have downloaded FF is because of the different, usable & functional adblockers. I started using NN; which turned into Mozilla; for that reason....adblocking/pop-up blocking features and add-ons. Since it's not the adblocker in my case, what next?

Over a week ago my videos on Utube quit working. I click on video and it starts to load but it never does load and start. The rotating circle never stops. If I click on the progress bar the popup shows the frame of the video so the info is in the machine. I had problems with cloudflare but I finally got rid of that garbage. It did not help with the video problem. I am running Windows 11 on an HP Pavilion that is about year old. It has 32 g of ram and 500g of storage. Windows and Firefox are up to date. I have rebooted and refreshed Windows and uninstalled Firefox but that does not help. I have no other problems, Chrome and Edge do not have the problem. I have an old HP desktop that runs windows 11 (slowly) and Firefox runs U Tube videos on it with no problems.

when i try to print list of names of removed and in progress only the cover of reolved items does not print details. list is needed to compare to info on experian which azppears to differ with mozilla you show below wsindows 10 i am on windows 11

My bookmarks changed with the update. I can't find everything that I had in my bookmarks. I liked the way Bookmarks worked before the update. They were easy to find and organize. Please put it back the way it was. This is horrible. It is like Edge and Chrome, which I don't use because they are horrible to use. Now firefox is the same.

Recently, my email provider (earthlink.net) has made a security related update requiring all support activities go to portal.earthlink.net. Ever since I registered my account as instructed, when I try to access my support account on earthlink, I am blocked by Cloudflare. I am using Firefox 115.13.0esr on Windows 7. Earthlink support says it's a setting in Firefox that is causing the blockage. When I attempt the same process on Chrome, I am not blocked. Does anyone have an idea what setting in Firefox that could be causing this ? I actually have always avoided Chrome , IE and Edge. Any suggestions are appreciated.

This is pretty much the same as https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/801343 back in Firefox 3.x → 4 times. I do recall having the same problem then, and disabling hardware acceleration did fix it back then, but it no longer does.

I’m currently on 115.3 ESR, but I’ve observed this for a while in Quantum (I don’t recall seeing it on Gecko with HW accel disabled).

I am trying to upgrade firefox to the latest version on my intel imac. The os is Sonoma 14.5 I download the .dmg file and when I try to mount the diskimage it gives me this error "Operation Not Permitted" I tried to verify the .dmg file using the mac disk utility program. It won't do it. It just gives me the same "Operation not Permitted" error. I tried verifying another .dmg file in the same directory (downloads) Disk Utilities performs the operation just fine on that .dmg .

I am trying to remove a shortcut off of my Firefox homepage. I have been trying everyday of what I can do, clicking "Dismiss" or "Delete from History" will not do anything. I am trying to find out what other ways can help, but so far, none seem to help for now. I haven't been on the website because I didn't need to anymore. I have been looking for ways, but they seem to not help me at all. Is there anyway I can get rid of it please? Please let me know.

I noticed there are 2 FF and 2 FF private browsing icons in win 11 under "start", "all apps". I don't see a way to delete 1 of each. is there a reason they are there maybe? I'd like to remove the 2 duplicates if not. thanks

I am using 'search:query=seattle&crumb=location:C%3A%5CMyFolder' such query to search in my local indexed files on my windows using firefox 124.xx versions and also all the other browser supports this , after the update to 128.0.3 , this stopped working , Is there any setting to do so that it would start working back. reference link https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/win.../search-protocol

Microsoft search Protocol works fine in older versions now it didnt , Any new update stopped this?

I have been using Firefox for a long time and truly enjoy it. However, lately it has problems loading websites. It can delay for two or three minutes to load gmail, citicards, Schwab, etc. I do not have the problem when I switch to Chrome. Therefore, it has to be something with Firefox. If this cannot be resolved I will switch, reluctantly, to Chrome.

I would love for someone to help point me in the right direction as to why my Firefox tabs are constantly crashing, especially on high memory usage websites like webmail or youtube.

I'm wondering if it could be related to a potentially faulty processor, as I recently had to RMA my i9 14900k processor, and modify the bios for stability even after I got a replacement, just to get applications to stop crashing and the OS to stop blue-screening.

Hello, what can I do to prevent the fans in my laptop from turning on at full speed when watching a video, or playing a music stream or internet radio through the site? I tried playing the same media on the EDGE browser and the computer is cool there, only through the Firefox browser, as soon as I turn on a YT movie or a radio stream, the fans start working at full speed. Please fix this, or tell me if I can change any settings? Best regards, Zenek
