Thunderbird was configured to send & receive via Cox /yahoo mail. Worked until recently but can no longer send or receive.

Thunder bird on windows (115.10.1) freezes with a not responding message when a few delete messages are made. Earlier it used to scroll to some random location on the screen. now it freezes for a long while. Is this a bug to be fixed or something wrong at my end?

After escaping from the blank screen it says it could not access server. But my credentials are copied from my gmail login that works fine. And I have checked the configuration with other gmail accounts that are running in Thunderbird and they are the same. So why am I getting a blank screen? How do I get my google permissions authorization form to show up?

This procedure now fails to work for a gmail account that I have put into Thunderbird successfully in the past.

I went to a lot of trouble to get all my email accounts into Thunderbird. I really don't want it to fail me now.

Hi, I am closing down an old email address because they are now charging me for it. I was advised to use Thunderbird so I signed up and am now receiving emails to thunderbird from my xtra.co.nz email address. However, it hasn't brought over my saved folders from my xtra.co.nz app. Someone suggested I need to change to imap, but do not know where to find this and not sure if I do it in Thunderbird or the xtra mail app or both. Looking for instructions on on how I can bring my existing folders from my xtra.co.nz mail into Thunderbird?

Weird Data Corruption. Subject in Preview mismatches with Actual Content of the Message.

The mismatch was not due to cache or refresh because it persisted through Thunderbird restarts and also moving the message across folders.

I have two o365 accounts from different companies. One of them works fine the other I get "user authenticated but not connected" I turned off ipv6 globally and specifically for outlook.office.com and tried relogging even revoked the app and allowed it again. Sending emails somehow works but it keeps loading even after the email is received. I'm on Linux tried both native and flatpak app. These account also work just fine through davmail. The irony is that the account which doesn't work recommends Linux users to use thunderbird that's what promoted me to switch to it instead of davmail.

Hi, am getting this error and am unable to use our new PC as this Thunderbird mail app is failing to migrate the profile from the other windows PC. Need your help asap on how to fix this. Not very technical, so need help. I updated Thunderbird to the latest version (115.11.0 32 bit) on my old PC before copying the profile over and loading Thunderbird on this new PC which has 115.11.0 64 bit version.

When I originally set up a POP account in Thunderbird for Mac some years ago, my address was at interchange.ubc.ca, then the POP server migrated to mail.ubc.ca

In Account Settings, my e-mail address, POP server name, and Copies and Folders names all reference mail.ubc.ca (as they should).

But in my ~/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/<profileName>/Mail folder, the POP folder is still named pop.interchange.ubc.ca.

(N.B. <profileName> is a placeholder for my actual profile name, not displayed here for security reasons)

I have many filters set up to move messages to specific folders at the same level as my Inbox in my mail.ubc.ca POP mailbox, but whenever I restart Thunderbird and run a filter, I get the error, "The folder 'folderName' could not be found, so filter(s) associated with this folder will be disabled. Verify that the folder exists, and that filters point to a valid destination folder." (N.B. <folderName> is a placeholder here, for example it might be "Trash")

I can then select the destination folder in the "Choose folder ..." dropdown menu and run the filter, but whenever I restart Tbird, I get the same error all over again.

In the msgFilterRules.dat file for this account, I see lines like these: "actionValue="mailbox://<username>@pop.interchange.ubc.ca/<folderName>", e.g. actionValue="mailbox://<username>@pop.interchange.ubc.ca/Junk"

[N.B. <username> is a placeholder for my actual username

I'm wondering if this is due to a mismatch between the POP server name and the name of the POP mailbox folder in the Finder. Is it safe to change the name of the latter to "pop.mail.ubc.ca", and should this fix the problem? Will this automatically update the server name in the msgFilterRules.dat file, or do I have to edit it to replace all references to "pop.interchange.ubc.ca" with "pop.mail.ubc.ca".

If it is not safe to do this, or it is unlikely to fix the problem, any advice as to what to try instead would be greatly appreciated!

I've hit the refresh button 1000s of times to get halfway through my emails I'm still a few months from current it downloads 1-3 emails most of the time when hitting refresh all. And most of the help I found for this stuff is very out of date.

Is there a setting that allows me to exclude all this? I cannot recognize any kind of setting in "Settings" or "Account Settings" that allows me to control this issue. Best regards, Rudi Abel

Curious if there is a way to turn off email notifications for only some email accounts logged into Thunderbird. We have several different email accounts we monitor with my business, and we don't require a notification for all of them & would love if there was a way to select which accounts you want live notifications for. I recently upgraded to Thunderbird 128, and now I have very strange things happen when I filter messages. After I type one or two or sometimes three characters into the Filter field Thunderbird freezes. If I continue typing the additional characters don't appear in Filter, nothing happens in filtering, and my mouse cursor disappears when it is in the Thunderbird window (it appears normally if outside the window). After several seconds everything starts working OK, and my messages get filtered.

So, in the end I can filter messages, but this freezing is frustrating and a waste of time.

I am using Thunderbird (ver. 128.1.0esr) as my email client. I have two Internet Service providers: Xfinity(Comcast) and AT&T. I can't send emails when using AT&T but can when using Xfinity. Can receive emails OK on both. Why is this?

I get the green light for creating an account... but it goes yellow tag when I click Done. Will you help, please. I am able to log into my account online with the same PW I have to use in setting up the Thunderbird account. Thanks from a donation customer. //... Joe

Is there a way to set/change the organizer of an event in Calendar?

I'd like to create an event but set someone else in my address book as the organizer to whom all event replies will be sent. This is useful, for example, when my account is limited to ME@localhost and my Mail Transport Agent does address conversions.

I deleted a work account (hosted on google) and I keep getting pop-ups from Oauth to authenticate it. Looking at the troubleshooting information while it is not in the mail and news accounts list it does show up as an account.

Also, looking at the profile directories I seem to also see possible accounts that were deleted a long time ago but still straggling around.

How can I resolve this?

All email files on this windows10 laptop appear to have become encypted (inbox and sent and all defined folders). Able to access and view them all, but when sent to printer, they remain encrypted and print encrypted code. Have tried reinstalling Thunderbird, over previous installation.Have not tried uninstalling thunderbird before reinstalling.

For years I have used the extension 'Calendar Tweaks' because it colorizes the entire event in the calendar. This extension is no longer compatible with versions of Thunderbird after 74 so I have stop updation after Version 69. However in resolving problems with authorization I needed to update to the current Version of Thunderbird so my events in the calendar now just show the category color at the edge of the box instead of the entire box. Is there a way in Thunderbird to colorize the entire event box or another extension that does this.
