I have over 35 email accounts, which I use Thunderbird to collect. Love Thunderbird for well over 2 decades!

I am wanting to have 2 of my email addresses to be downloaded before all the others. I have indeed successfully "moved" these 2 accounts to the top of my account list (Shift and mouse). However they are not downloaded in the order of the account list.

How do I accomplish this? Is it possible?

I created a ticket, and it auto-responded to run this by the Volunteer Community. I really want this to be handled by support, but welcome anyone to give me a solid answer.

Right now I'm using 3 different email accounts on Thunderbird. All 3 of them are Office365 accounts. For some reason, 1 of the 3 accounts is prompted at least once a day, sometimes twice a day, to enter my password on the Office365 website popup that is used with the OAuth2 authentication process. It's very irritating, all 3 accounts are Microsoft Office business accounts. What would be the reason why it needs to authenticate daily? Is there no password manager to do this automatically once it's been entered once? Can I pick a different authentication method? What is the correct change to make so I don't have to keep typing in my password every day?

When attempting to log into my website admin using Firefox, I am unable to view my saved passwords for all websites such as HVAC, contractors, painting, and golf. How can I resolve this issue?

If you're unable to see your saved passwords in Firefox for your websites, here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check Firefox Settings:

Open Firefox and click on the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner. Select "Preferences" (on macOS) or "Options" (on Windows/Linux). Go to the "Privacy & Security" panel. Scroll down to the "Logins and Passwords" section. Ensure that the "Remember logins and passwords for websites" option is checked. View Saved Passwords:

In the same "Logins and Passwords" section, click on "Saved Logins...". This will open a new window/tab with a list of all saved usernames and passwords. Clear Private Data:

Sometimes clearing your browsing history and cookies can resolve issues with saved passwords not appearing correctly. Go back to the Firefox menu, choose "Preferences" or "Options", then select "Privacy & Security". Scroll down to the "Cookies and Site Data" section and click on "Clear Data...". Make sure "Cookies and Site Data" and "Cached Web Content" are selected, then click "Clear". Update Firefox:

Ensure you are using the latest version of Firefox. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can resolve such issues. Check Password Manager Settings:

If you use a third-party password manager or Firefox's built-in password manager, make sure it's enabled and functioning correctly. Extensions/Add-ons:

Disable any extensions or add-ons that might interfere with password saving or autofill features. Reset Firefox Settings:

As a last resort, you can reset Firefox to its default settings. This will disable extensions and reset other settings. Go to the Firefox menu, choose "Help", and then "Troubleshooting Information". Click on "Refresh Firefox" to reset. If these steps don't resolve the issue, there may be a more specific problem with your Firefox profile or installation that could require more advanced troubleshooting.

After years of working fine, this message has started appearing whenever TB tries to retrieve messages. I've checked that there's enough space (there's many GB free). I've checked the authorisations of the email folders, they're all fine (Full Control in all cases). I found an answer in a forum suggesting that a rogue antivirus might be the problem, but I'm only using MS Defender.

In desperation I removed the entire Roaming/Thunderbird folder, uninstalled TB, reinstalled it (version 115.12.2), created a new profile for my email address (it's a Yahoo email address, and I can retrieve the emails directly through the Yahoo Mail website with no problems). But I'm still getting the same error message. TB tries to retrieve the messages, it says 'Retrieving message 1 of 105' for several minutes, then the error message popup, and nothing appears in the Inbox. (105 is all the incoming messages as of now since this started happening).

I'm completely stuck. Any suggestions?

I back up my TB profile every few months. I just went thru the Cox-Yahoo email conversion and I am getting emails. When I did my back up, I noticed in the properties it had one more folder and the files went from 1311 to 2585 files. Is something wrong? Do I need to compare and research what is causing this or just move on!

how are shortcuts created on my "new tab" home page in firefox browser. I used to be able to create the shortcuts I wanted, not random shortcuts that I might have visited once. Now shortcuts appear that I don't want. I know I can remove them by dismissing them but I should not get them in the first place. Please help.

There is an issue with 3 extensions: 1. Briskine. 2. Simple Gmail notes. 3. Boomerang. This issue is taking place only when Briskine is active and only on Firefox.

When Briskine is active Simple Gmail notes does not display at all. Boomerang does not display correctly so there is no access to the full screen and options.

This only happens with Firefox, not with Chrome or Edge. Also, it is a know issue that's been going on for a while. I wish it could be fixed. Thank you Adam 747-256-2233 adamcornfeld@gmail.com

I would like to set up an email account with a pen name that I am using as an author. Is there a way to do that without giving my actual credentials? Thanks for your kind attention.

When I wanted to add a new subfolder to an existing folder, I think I used to right click on the folder under which I wanted to create a new subfolder. A menu would pop up with a line about adding a new subfolder. Now that option no longer appears. What happened, and how can I fix this, or how do I add a subfolder now?

Hello! We are a real dues-paying member, having made a number of donations over the years. We have been having trouble with emails received from Microsoft-based systems, with the HTML formatting of messages getting lost and the attachment of a winmail.dat file, which we can't open. We tried to use your Lookout add-on, but with all of the permissions that must be given in order to use that add-on, it will not pass our IT security folks. Is there any chance you will be able to improve Thunderbird to read those messages without having to use the add-on? We really hate Microsoft, and would prefer to stay on your team, but we will not be able to unless a solution can be found.

Despite literally hours of frustrating -- now infuriating -- effort, my inbox won't show "from," which was removed by the most recent update. Is this problem fixable? If so, how? (If not, I'm damn well going to dump Thunderbird.)

In the past, I could click on an email address and drag it into a new subfolder I'd made (let's say for emails to a group about baking). Easy as pie!

Sorry for the bad pun.

Now, when I try to click and drag, it will NOT go into that subfolder. I looked in Help and there were answers about csv files, about a horizontal or vertical view, etc. None of that made sense to me.

So I'm wondering if it's still somehow an easy thing to do, to duplicate someone's email in one or more other folders. It seems like it should be! Thanks, Su

After installing the new thunderbird release 15.12.2, i started getting alot of duplicates. i was messing around in the thunderbird layout etc There was a report about a damaged mailbox, but not the inbox. i think i was behind on compacting. Then i realized most of inbox was gone !

i tried the repair suggested in Thunderbird properties on the message summary index file .msf when i first noticed problem, i made copies both inbox and .msf currently:

Inbox itself is ~2Gb, but  Inbox.msf file size is 0 

i have copy of the Inbox, but copy of Inbox.msf is gone...

i reinstalled the latest thunderbird. but didn't help.

I took the advice of @Toad-Hall and uninstalled the flatpak version of thunderbird, then installed the version available as an rpm via dnf/yum and that worked. Life is good.

i'm running windows on a bootcamped macbook pro, windows 10 home. did i install correct version ? any other ideas ?

i have used thunderbird for many years and appreciate you'all for keeping it going !

When I search for a Hebrew-language video on Firefox the resulting link text overlaps with the English text “Translate this page” for all YouTube videos. I don’t want any page translated and my Firefox Translation settings include no languages. The overlap only occurs on YouTube video links. How can I get rid of the “Translate this page” text? At our clinic when we cannot answer client calls it goes to voicemail. The voicemail the should be sent to our email and transcribed, however it hasn’t been. It leaves us with the only option to play voicemails aloud while clients are going in and out of the lobby, which we find unprofessional. Please help us fix this!

Firefox is using a large amount of battery while idle. You can see my app runs open a lot of the day, but not in use much. It has drained 20 percent of one days battery, and I am watching YouTube videos on another app (Grayjay btw check it out!) and it has used far less battery. If I set Firefox into a sleeping state, the app still drains a lot of battery. When in deep sleep,it stops draining as much power, but then Android keeps auto pushing their own browser to be my primary browser. I'm not sure what to do in this case, as it's too much of a hassle to have links not auto open in Firefox when in deep sleep. This excessive battery drain doesn't make sense, and I was wondering if there was any fix for this. Thanks for taking the time.

I don't know my password to open my email, how do I find it? I have had my email account for years never needed to sign in and now I'm out, I need help I have a lot of important messages waiting.
