Hi, Most of the time when I search, the engine automatically used is Bing and not Google. This is despite setting Google as default.

Is this an annoying bug? Or am I doing something wrong?

I'm still having a problem with automatic collection of email when I launch Thunderbird. I followed directions sent me to turn it off, but that didn't work. Either I misunderstood or did something wrong. I'm not the sharpest tack in the box when it comes to these things. How do I control when my computer asks the server for email? Thanks much!

I have changed email address and would like to have an auto reply sent to the sender to alert them to the fact that the email address has changed. I will still need to receive the intended email, but just a return email saying please be advised that our email address has changed to xxx@xxx.com, just for a month or so. This site has been very helpful to me. I thank you and I have a new question now that my e-mail is operational. I am a New York Times digital subscriber. As such I am allowed to gift a certain number of articles each month. Today when I tried to do that I was given a choice of paths for sending articles, Gmail and a few more with an option for other. But I don't know what to tell the New York Times as to how I want to be hooked to Thunderbird as the vehicle for gifting my allotted articles to others. Can someone help? Thank you, Doug

It takes to clicks to delete an item in the list or else moving the cursor to the detail screen. How can you change the format to put a trashcan next to the star button. Outlook presents a red trashcan when you move the cursor over the email title.

Is there a way to reformat the view to add this delete trashcan.

The filters function is a great function but I have a bit of a complex question where filters are concerned. I want to create 30, 60, 90 day purge rules with a list of email addresses attached to each such that those specific emails from the specified addresses are deleted at the selected intervals.

Is there a way to create single time-based purge rules using a list of email addresses or must I create a purge rule for each email address individually? E.g., <Match Any of the Following> From > Is > email@example1.com From > Is > email@example2.com Age in Days > Is Greater Than > 30 <Perform These Actions> Delete Message

The way I understand the syntax of instructions, each operator is an either/or so the filter when executed would DELETE ANY message greater than 30 days AND ANY message from @example 1 or @example2. Is that reading correct or am I reading the syntax operators wrong?

However, I want the purge rule to delete only those messages from @example1 & example 2 that are 30 days old. Are my filter criteria correct in the example above to achieve this aim or should I use different instructions?

Is it possible to enter multiple email addresses in a single filter criteria and what's the proper syntax? (e.g., From > Is > email@example1.com; email@example2.com OR email@example1.com, email@example2.com)

Presently I have minimize Thunderbird to tray icon set, this is fine. But I want Thunderbird to minimize to tray icon when I click the 'X' instead of closing out altogether. Since there's no setting for this, is there some kind of secret sauce like an add-on or a manual mod of the registry to enable this?
