Hovering over links doesn't always show hover state?

After installing Firefox 7, I noticed something weird. I'm a front-end web developer, so I noticed this recently when creating custom tool-tips that appear on hover. I noticed that the hover tooltip wouldn't appear for certain links, and at first I thought I was doing something wrong on my end, but then I realized that this was happening on almost all websites.

Here's what's happening: on some links, not all, the hover state only gets activated on certain parts of the link. Here is a screenshot -- it's from the Firefox help forum. Hover over the green portion activates the hover state (underlining the top link), but the red portion does nothing. Some of the links work throughout, but some don't. The same goes with Google search results.

I'm running OS X Lion.

I'm wondering if it's just me or a Firefox 7 bug, can someone help/confirm?

ah i'm as a frontend developer and i have exactly the same problem.

except mine is happening on ALL hover states... they are not working on any of my sites or other sites. i haven't found a solution... my thread is here... https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/887329

its fine on Snow Leopard and only happen in Lion, coz i just change machines i have both of them running and notice the differences after i start work on the Lion machine. i knew it wasn't my codes and the only difference is the OS platform as i copied my Firefox profile files from my Snow Leopard machine.

Hopefully someone can figure this out and post to both our threads. I will try and submit to the developer and see if they can look into it.

Interesting -- I have a brand new Mac too. Is your older Mac running Lion or something else? Maybe it's an issue specific to Lion.

yes my old mac is running on Snow Leopard and it works fine there although way slower and sometimes would crash (ball keeps spinning and not loading fully) for no reason, but all hover states work there... just switch to the new machine a week ago and notice this issue when i started work on the new machine. i think we should submit a feedback to the developer thru here, i just tried but nothing seem to be happening when i hit "Submit Feedback"... i will try to submit on my Snow Leopard machine.

I am having this issue as well. I am also running OS/X Lion and when the issue crops up, it is not limited to Firefox, it extends across all browsers... I have tested on Opera, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome... it happens in all of them. I believe this to be a Lion specific issue, not just Firefox.
