Over the past few months, the default behavior of my Thunderbird client (11.5 on Win10) seems to have changed. In the past if I deleted an email or moved it to a local offline folder, the message would simply disappear from my Inbox - end of story. Lately when I do the same thing, the email removed from my Inbox gets pushed back down from the server. It behaves like IMAP is only syncing from server>client and not from client>server. I can delete email a second time and it will still sync down another copy the next time I launch Thunderbird. What am I missing here? I could change the 2nd & 3rd settings, but it's happening with messages that are only a few days old.

I use Thunderbird Nebula to access my Protonmail account. In Protonmail, I have over 20 aliases for my email address. (Each address comes into my main mail box.) When I use my Protonmail account on a webpage, I can change the "From address" to be any of my 20 aliases when I reply to or forward an email.

However, when I use Thunderbird to access my Protonmail, it only allows me to forward email from my default address, not my aliases.

This is a deal breaker for me because I must be able to send email from any of my aliases.

When I try to forward from a different custom from address, I get a message that it is possible, to send from different addresses, but I cannot find any directions online or in forums or in help or in the menus. Can anyone help me, please?

Customize From Address

I keep getting the message that TB can't connect to my server. I am able to go to my server in a Browser window, I have re-entered the password Multiple Times and it still will not connect. What else can I look at? Tony

Is it possible to define user-defined formatting characteristics when creating a message and to save them permanently for each new mail created? In particular, I would like to be able to user-define the line spacing at the top and bottom (i.e. the line height ) and, if possible, also the other formatting parameters (such as font, font size, font attrbutes and so on) in different paragraphs and save them permanently for new mails. The existing option ‘Paragraph’ via the menu items Format - Paragraph - Paragraph does not offer this possibility according to my tests. Is there such a possibility in Thunderbird? their is a strange username coming in to my mail box . was wondering why it is coming into my mail box and if I caused the problem or did someone figure how to fool my account. the username getting through is Cwmansfield@mail.com ....that is like my username . but it is not me. if I have accidentally done something ,can you help me stop it? thanks clarence

About two days ago (july 23, 2024), Thunderdbird could no longer connect to GMail without any changes from my side AFAIK. I'm getting a window saying "Enter credentials" with a Next button that results in a 404 error (see images). Does anybody know what went wrong here?

I have the same Gmail Account in the same version of Thunderbird (128.0.1esr (64-bit) on my 2 Laptops. My Contacts in my browser (Firefox) show 127 contacts. On Asus 2 only Address Book shows contacts (127) On Asus 1, Address Book shows 330 contacts, Personal Address Book shows 126 contacts. All contact items in FF Bin are empty.

I click answer I get white text on white. I cannot read this text and I am not sure if the receiver can.

Why does this happen, what are the steps to prevent this. Why is Thunderbird doing this?

After setting up a new laptop, I have tried to use Thunderbird to download the entire contents of my GMail inbox. When I'm logged into GMail via my Firefox browser, I can see 62,635 messages dating all the way back to July 2008. I installed Thunderbird and created a profile to access my GMail inbox via POP3. Then I set Thunderbird to download new messages. After a few hours, Thunderbird has downloaded 23,485 messages dating back to December 23, 2022. How do I get Thunderbird to retrieve the remaining roughly 40,000 messages all the way back to the first message from August 15, 2008? Can Thunderbird also retrieve messages from GMails Spam folder and drafts folder?

Hey guys, the client I work for provided my with MS account to be used for communication. Since I am on Linux, these two things doesn't really bond well :) I was using mostly web access for MS Teams and Outlook OWA ...

However, I figured that I would love to try Thunderbird for at least emails (so I got them all my email at one place)...

After some discussion with client's ITHD (after they changed my license to E3 type) I managed to get the email working - so I can send and receive emails ... However, I cannot see the calendar so it's still almost useless for me for I don't see meeting request.

Any idea how to fix that? did any of you guys face the same?

So I have Thunderbird 128.0esr (64-bit) installed on Ubuntu 24; I have found a strange issue when I try to send emails with attachments. In this scenario, I scan files in from my scanner to a network folder, and then copy that file from the network folder to a final location, where I chose from Thunderbird to "attach"

If Thunderbird has been opened prior to the document being scanned and created in the first network folder, if I try to attach it to a email, it does, however, when I try to send I get a error "I do not have permission to access that file"; Strange. I close out Thunderbird, re-open, and try to send the file again, and BOOM, no issues with file permissions. I have replicated this many times.

Any ideas? I have tried running "thunderbird" in console to see if any debug information shows up, it does not. And yes, "closing the program and reopening it all-things-equal" always fixes the problem.

I have tried repeatedly to delete certain local folders but either they won't delete or just come back after restart

I have even gone into the file explorer under the profile-mail-local folder's and done the deletes but still they come back

What am I missing?

Need procedure to up date email that has been transferred to Yahoo from Cox.net Cox stated I can keep my email address and emails will come in through Yahoo. I do not have a Yahoo account which is separate from the Cox.net email address

Hi All, I'm using Thunderbird to manage Apple and Outlook emails. When I logged in this morning all my folders under the apple ID have disappeared. They still exist in webmail but not in the program. Cant work how to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Andrew
