At random, whenever use a search box on a page, Firefox will lock up. The "loading" icon on the tab will animate as normal, but the entire window won't respond. If I press the show desktop button and then try to reveal Firefox, none of the windows will appear. I'd have to go into Windows Task Manager and be lucky enough to terminate the correct process containing the tab, or else I'd have to start all over again.

This is the second time in 4 months I've had this issue. The first time I resolved it by clearing my cache. That isn't working this time. I've looked at the help articles and clearing the cache is there. This is where I found it the first time. Any ideas?

Recently I was forced to install some "stuff" on my work laptop. Unfortunately, I am not quite sure what they installed. I have contacted my IT department and all I've gotten in response is that "we haven't blocked any browser or sites."

Since this update, I find that Gmail will eventually show an error and when I go to refresh the page, the loading screen never completes. Additionally, Youtube will eventually declare that I have no connection and at that point I can no longer open new browser tabs.

I have updated Firefox, used troubleshooting mode, removed extensions, turned off ad blockers (uBlock Origin), and nothing seems to work—these issues always appear again eventually.

I would greatly prefer to not use Chrome, so if there is anything I can do to fix these issues I would be all ears to know what it is.

If you visit a website frequently and want to wipe delete a website from your historical record, Firefox blocks on the UI thread to do this.

In my experience, depending on how often the site is visited, the single thread on a processor can be pegged for many minutes, consuming gigabytes of memory.

If this is not a bug, then it is a very poor user experience. I was only able to resume after terminating the application in Task Manager.

Yesterday when my wife tried searching on her computer within the Amazon site the screen went black. She is able to pull up the Amazon website but when she tries to search for a product the screen goes black. There will be a split second when you can see the search results but then it goes black. I do not see any pop-up blocker warning at the top.This does not happen on other websites.

Hi I am trying to change the default homepage Firefox logo to my own, but i could find no tutorial on how to do that. I only found 7-9 year old posts, that did not work. So my question is: Is it possible to change the default firefox logo on the homepage to my own one, and if it is then how?

Why does it often take me up to ten attempts to open the Firefox browser, all the while navigating through the same message on each attempt. "Firefox is already running but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." This problem is beyond frustrating.

This has happened to me a number of times now. I think I am deleting the last entry in today's history but instead, I accidentally delete the whole today folder in history. Last night, I did a lot of research and was counting on reviewing some of the pages in the today history (after midnight). Now, I will never be able to even know where to start. How hard would it be for Firefox to add a step requiring the user to answer Y/N to are you sure you want to delete all of today's history? Also, after all these years, one would think it would be easy to restore accidentally erased history, but after looking for hours, I can't find a viable solution at all. If only I could import the SQLite file into Excel, Word or some common program. I'm not a power user by any means, I just want my history back.

I can't sing in to banking accounts with newest version of Firefox. no problem with Microsoft Edge. I keep getting this message.

Apache/2.4.25 (Debian) Server at myaccount.assurancewireless.com Port 443 works in edge and Chrome and ie/able all adons cleared cookies done everything i can even called assurance and they were able to access it not sure why i got it in edge and ie'

Hello, Why does Firefox convert my mp4 files to 3gpp files when I download them from my personal Flickr account?? Chrome does not - they download perfectly when I download videos from my Flickr account using Chrome - so why can't I download them as mp4 files in Firefox???

The photos page in OneDrive is having trouble loading most of the time. The page has the OneDrive header, and the section where the photos should show up is simply blank. Screenshot attached.

This is working fine on Google Chrome, but I would prefer not to use chrome for privacy reasons.

Can anyone help me with this?

I am using a new iMac with the latest version of Firefox (100.0.2) Lately when I am reading articles on news sites such as CNN or The Guardian, or on Twitter, when I click on the video the screen goes black and stays black. No video or audio. This is incredibly frustrating. Also, even when I was able to watch videos, the default was that the sound was off. I would like to know how to fix both these issues ASAP!! Hello, I just recently restarted my computer. After I did, Firefox asked me to sign in again. I did, but now I'm on a new account without any of my other profiles. This happened once before and I was able to get my old account back, but I forgot how I was able to do that. How can I sign back into my old account?

Firefox (10.0002 64-bit) is bookmarking every single page I visit, making the bookmarking function useless to me. I just noticed this problem recently. Someone posted a similar question in 2016:

He seemed to think the problem was related to an app -- but someone else posted to that question and they did not have any new apps. Nor do I. I haven't knowingly installed any apps to Firefox in the last year.

Can someone please tell me how to stop the bookmarking function from booking pages automatically without my input?

Firefox gathering personal information without consent.

I have used Firefox for many years without an account. Yesterday I gave in and made the mistake of entering my email address into Firefox so that I could save pocket articles, as I know of no other way of saving them. That's all I gave, yet within minutes Firefox had captured my private phone number, date of birth, age, name, and details of my windows account.

I was really angry at the presumtion that Firefox felt entitled to do that. If this were acceptable it would mean for every instance of sending an email an organisation or person believes you have given them the right to delve into your personal details, which clearly cannot be right.

Please advise if this is true, does Firefox without consent harvest private information, while claiming to have a core value of being protective and ethical about personal information.

Hello. I don't know which Firefox release broke this essential feature. The problem started after I enabled Aero in my Windows 7 system. It happens often if I have an open tab with https://www.o2tv.cz/ which uses some DRM to play TV content.
