Starting this morning ,when I open Thunderbird and download folders from "Outlook Inbox" I cannot view the content in preview mode. Instead of showing the contents, there is the following text;

Also, when viewing the message source for any of the messages in the "Inbox" there is a large amount of garbage and all messages have the same garbage. Every message begins with the following 2 lines of text;

2ppeVJ1YkJYaWk2dyZh bXA7ZGF0YT0wNCU3QzAxJTdDJTdDNDc4ZWFmODgwNzE4NDhlY2VjMWQwOGQ5ZTY5MzZmYTMlN0M4

All other folders function properly and when choosing a message the preview pane displays the contents.

I am using the latest version of Thunderbird; 128.0.1esr (54-bit)

Mozilla Thunderbird is not responding. I have tried to get on for several days with no success! I have been reading my e-mail on my Spectrum account, but need to get back on Thunderbird. Please help!

I keep getting the message that the server may have gone down or disconnected. I try multiple attemps to enter my password, but it doesn't always succeed and I end up turning off the laptop and starting again. And sometimes it still doesn't work. I'm getting emails on Outlook but not on my preferred Firefox. Any advise please?

Hi, helping my 80 year old father to try Thunderbird because he has a massive amount of emails and folders/labels (literally thousands of folders/labels!!!) and Outlook can't handle it unless you Archive stuff which is annoying and cumbersome.

His email account is with Google Gmail.

So far, Thunderbird is handling attempting to fully sync with his Gmail account much better than Outlook.

However, after downloading thousands of emails into a large portion of the thousands of folders & sub-folders, Thunderbird stopped doing that.

If I click on an individual folder, it instantly starts downloading them, and I only have to click on each folder quickly and then Thunderbird will eventually downloading all the emails into all the folders I have clicked on.

However, my Dad has THOUSANDS of folders so even clicking on each one quickly would take a very....long....time.

I have researched this a bunch and I've verified the following:

Account Settings --> Synchronization & Storage --> Message Synchronizing --> Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer = ON

Account Settings --> Synchronization & Storage --> Disk Space --> Synchronize all messages locally regardless of age = ON

I have also done the following:

Settings --> General --> very bottom right of list Config Editor --> mail.server.default.check_all_folders_for_new = changed to "true"

No luck so far.

If someone wants to switch to Thunderbird and has a huge number of folders, and wants to download all emails so that any email will show up in a search, there must be a better way to get Thunderbird to download them all in an automated way, no?

The add-ons for removing duplicate emails in Thunderbird do not work for the latest version of Thunderbird, 128.0

Anyone know how I might search all my emails for duplicates and decide which ones to delete?

Recently upgraded Thunderbird Running version 115.13.0 on Windows 11 Since upgrading I can receive emails as usual, I then read them and close Thunderbird but on reopening later on or if new emails are received all of that days and sometimes previous days emails have vanished. I cannot find anyway to recover them

And also as mentioned in previous message that cant reach to your team well it's true and I saw that results already.
