I have had a lot of trouble using Firefox lately. I can't get to my e-mail and I can't get to my bank's website without getting a phone call which isn't always practical. My wife uses Chrome and doesn't have any problems. Am I going to have to switch to Chrome too?

Recently changed email servers. Under account actions selected "Remove Account" so it wouldn't reach out to the old ISP. Thought I had checked "Remove Account Information", but not Remove Message Data". Entire account disappeared. I've read the emails are still in a profile. How can I recover lost emails?

Earlier this evening, I restarted my Mac computer, and inexplicably found that all of my email sub-folders had mysteriously disappeared. I spent hours attempting to recover five years worth of data through online means, with absolutely no success. I eventually made a donation to Mozilla in order to hopefully reinstall this program in a desperate attempt recover all of these files, but have still made no progress. Please, please help me to recover this information. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Then I started it and opened it with Safari (left) and Firefox (right).

Any ideas, what's wrong? Can I fix this in my code or does this need to be fixed by the devs?

I would like to remove my email account. There are explanations here about finding a 'remove account' option in settings but it appears that the option has recently disappeared. How do I remove an account?

I imported my profile from a PC to a MacBook Air and it went quite well. However, one of the mail folders that I can see in my new profile on the MacBook is not appearing on the Folder Pane when I open Thunderbird. It's part of my Local Folders so I tried to add a folder of the same name and it told me that there was already a folder by that name. So it's definitely there but just inaccessible through the Folder Pane. Is there a magic way to get all folders to show up?

I have a recurring problem, just started a few weeks ago. It comes and goes. I try to play netflix videos and get the message "Firefox is installing components need to play audio or video." I can't tell anything is being installed. I've tried purging cache, restarting firefox, restarting my computer. Windows 10. Firefox version 128.0.3 (64-bit)

Ok, I just had issues with Thunderbird after a very long time of no problems. Last was the "Assembling message" prompt that seems to have gone away. Today, however, I have a brand new one that makes no sense to me.

On the PC this morning with no issues and e-mail was fine. Thunderbird told me there was an update so I applied it and shut down the PC. Came back about 6:30PM and fired up the PC and, when I started Thunderbird, it prompted me to create a new e-mail account! What? I checked my profile and it was still there and I even compared it to my last differential backup and it appears to be right. Not corrupted.

Using the profile manager, I see it still knows where the profile is located and I even clicked it, selected it and said use it but it again started with the "create a new account"! Tried the usual methods of creating a new profile, renaming, using the old data, etc. but, every time I try, it only gets me to the "create new account" interface.

I even went so far as to revert to a previous Windows restore point to get back to the previous version of Thunderbird but it STILL does not want to use the existing profile. Uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird and again tried to point to the old profile and no joy. It simply does not want to use the existing profile.

Normally when I build a new PC or reload Windows to start fresh, I am always able to point Thunderbird at my old profile like nothing changed and it always worked. Today, however, it does not want to use what I was using this morning.

Anyone else get this today?

WisperISP is the company that has the server for my email. They had a server migration a few days ago & now I cannot sent out emails. Talked with their Tech dept & all of the settings are correct. They do not know how to help me! I found the settings for the app with, but the app itself isn't the listed under apps.

I was able to make Firefox the default, but in partnership with what? With Firefox as the "default", Google Assistant is deactivated.

When opening a video such as on YouTube in the browser itself and htting the fullscreen button, there is a toast notification of the video being fullscreen but it seems redundant. If not, it is also an annoyance that it covers the controls every time. I was hoping the toast can be removed, moved, or turned off.

I use a ThinkPadNotebook with Windows. While surfing with Firefox, in a careless moment I clicked "allow" at a notification request of a suspicious website (qltuh.check-tl-ver-116-1.com). After this a few other websites opened up rapidly and soon after notification at the bottom right corner of the screen appeared. I immediately went offline and deactivated the corresponding permission for notifications in firefox. In particular, I did not follow any link displayed on the bottom right notifications.

My question is: Did simply granting permission of notification to this webiste create a security risk on my desktop? Or can I rest assured, since I revoked the permission and in the meantime did not follow any links displayed by the notification?

This is an annoying issue because I frequently have multiple windows opened on multiple monitors. If I close the window that has all the tabs and open a new instance of firefox, the pinned tabs disappear. Such an awfull design. The pinned tabs should replicate to all other opened windows and stay pinned until the user manually unpins them.
