as stated in the title, my HDD failed the other day and on recovery, my Thunderbird seems to have failed too.

I know (sort of) that it is all driven by the Profile.ini file.

But everytime I relaunch TB (even after what I think is an uninstall and a reinstall) I am getting : "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

I would be happy enough to have a blank TB load up and I would reconfigure my various email accounts. but I cannot seem to do even that.

I know there is a trick to getting to a Thunderbird configurator....but I have forgotten what it is.

Where does TB "look" when it starts up? how would I control that?

I have lost recent activity on home screen. There are blank tiles but nothing is being added.Hovering over tiles nothing happens. How do I get recent activity to appear again ?

The resulting calendar then works for one day but then disables itself and cannot be re-enabled (if I try to enable the calendar, it immediately disables itself again). I think this is happening because the calendar at the webcal link updates to a new file every day, so the specific link that Thunderbird resolves to becomes invalid on a daily basis. Other calendar applications that I use (like the iOS calendar app and the web interface for mailbox.org) do not resolve the link (they just leave it as webcal://github.com/othyn/go-calendar/releases/latest/download/gocal__community_day.ics) and they work fine, which is why I think the link resolution is causing the issue.

Is there a way to get this type of webcal link to work with Thunderbird?

So I've recently shifted from Chrome to Firefox and there's his specific touch pad gesture I set up on windows settings and it acts like media controls, but it seem to be unresponsive. Tried it with Chrome and VLC media player and it worked normally. Tried setting about:config; media.hardwaremediakeys.enabled but its already set to true.

Formatted my phone but playing videos still lags and stutters on Firefox browser on my Samsung. Only happens on Firefox, I've tested on Qwant, Duckduckgo and Brave and this problem doesn't occur. What might be the problem and solution?

It's interesting that sometimes the video plays fine until I unmute it. Sometimes the problem goes away after I stop and play or refresh the page. I often have to play the video on a different browser.

So, videos work fine on other browsers so I discart being a phone problem. But on my other phone this problem doesn't happen with firefox.

I've been for several months looking for help/answer/fix for this issue. And I've been with firefox for ever and I don't mind minor bugs and problems but this is starting to be a bit annoying and more and more I feel like I need to move on to a new browser.

Having followed the instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/modern-authentication-methods-now-needed-to-continue-syncing-outlook-email-in-non-microsoft-email-apps-c5d65390-9676-4763-b41f-d7986499a90d to update the security settings on my outlook/hotmail email accounts Thunderbird no longer reliably saves/enters the passwords. The password is saved in settings as that is where I copy it from to enter manually but why is Thunderbird not doing the entry as previously. It is not every log in and not always the same account, but regularly one or the other will come up with "enter your credentials" Also occasionally the credentials screen will flash on screen and then disappear, not necessarily for the account I am using at the time but one of the others. Firefox is very dear to me. I use it on my computer all the time for how much more relatively secure it is from other browsers. But Android version is a hellish nightmare. When I open the app, even with no previous tabs on, it will not be responsive for more than 30-45 seconds for seemingly no reason. Same thing when I kill the app and start it again. If it does have open tabs, it will either not be able to fetch their sum number to be displayed on the top right corner until that aforementioned timespan passes, and/or I wont be able to remove/add tabs until again that period of time passes! This is a blocking issue that's been there for well over a year and a half, if not longer!

When I am trying to access emails, a popup says to get certificate= imap.aussiebroadband.com.au:993 and confirm security exception. It will not allow emails to download

I have several virtual desktops: Desktop 1, 2, 3 and 4. Case 1: Assume that there is at least one opening Firefox window in any virtual desktop. And, if I try to open a new window in Desktop x (x = 1, ..., 4), it will appears in Desktop x as expected. Case 2: Assume that there are currently no opening Firefox windows in any virtual desktop. And, if I try to open a new window in Desktop 2 or 3 or 4, it will only appears in Desktop 1.

I've been experiencing a rather "unusual" issue: My Firefox up until version 116.0b8 worked perfectly fine; however, after any updates to versions beyond that, it stopped working.

I've tried the final versions and the betas, but nothing works. I attempted reinstallation and everything else, but I couldn't solve the mystery and remain stuck on version 116.0 beta 8.

What's happening? Every time I try to load a page on any version above 116.0, it either doesn't open or keeps loading in a loop. Yet, if I use another browser or revert to version 116, everything works correctly. This issue does not occurs in others machines.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I've noticed that Firefox has been running very slowly on my computer recently. Pages take a long time to load, and the browser often freezes or becomes unresponsive. I've already tried clearing the cache and disabling extensions, but the problem persists. I'm using the latest version of Firefox on Windows 10. Are there any other troubleshooting steps I can take to improve performance for my website?

For several months, Firefox has been unable to play videos from various different websites, including Netflix, Paramount Plus, Youtube, and others. I've turn off VPNS, reset my internet router countless times, cleared cache/cookies, flushed DNS, updated firefox, updated my video drivers, updated windows, disabled extensions (including adblock), opened Firefox in safemode, and reset hardware acceleration. This is not an issue on chrome or edge. Some of the error messages include: Netflix F7351, Paramount Plus 5000, and error code 102630. Youtube mostly doesn't work on livestreams, and says that my browser isn't compatible.

keep getting "Login to server imap.mail.yahoo.com failed." I've tried everything thru Mozilla to change passwords and tried every password possible. It's been 2 weeks no access to my emails thru Thunderbird. I'm at a loss. what can I do to get into my Thunderbird account without dumpig it all to start over?

I've had Thunderbird mail for some years but I haven't been using this computer for about 18 months. (Mac High Sierra). MacBook Pro 17-inch mid 2010 2.66 Ghz Intel core i7. 8 gb memory

I came to open Thunderbird mail today. It was all set up as before. The Yahoo accounts were fine, and Cloud. But when I opened Google it gave me: "Authorization Error. Error 400: invalid_request You can't sign in to this app because it doesn't comply with Google's OAuth 2.0 policy for keeping apps secure. You can let the app developer know that this app doesn't comply with one or more Google validation rules."

I went to Google and was able op open google mail fine as a standalone M-Gmail (https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox)

How can I incorporate gmail into Thunderbird.?

This has happened to me on several occasions but today I was fed up with it and came here.

I completed an important message in Thunderbird (latest Windows desktop version) and saved the draft so I could read it over with the Darling Bride before sending it. When I opened the draft to go over it with her, the draft literally stopped in the middle of a word - and nothing after that had been saved!

Several carefully-worded paragraphs had simply vanished, even though I saved the draft when the message was complete. WHY is Thunderbird not saving entire messages when I finish them and hit SAVE??? One can imagine my anger and frustration of trying to recall, word for word, what I had written so I can rewrite it (and it's never as good as the original). I like the idea of Thunderbird and not using the big data-mining email apps out there... but this is ridiculous!
