I even extend the connecting time out mins to 2 mins still failed A question, can thunderbird be used on Chinese mainland for gmail accounts, by using VPN? I highly doubt.

I can insert outlook accounts into thunderbird easily and log onto oauth2 pages of these accounts.

Every-time I open up Thunderbird E-mail, I get a pop-up box that says: log-in to account failed (see attached picture) A little information about my situation; I have used Thunderbird E-mail Program for years with my Hotmail Account, without any issues! I have also used "AVG Virus Protection" and I have Windows 10 Pro. My problem is every-time I open up Thunderbird E-mail, I get a pop-up box that says: log-in to account failed (see attached picture) This problem started long before I installed your latest "Thunderbird Version 128.0.1esr (64-bit)" to try and solve this problem, it doesn't matter what I click on, on that pop-up, it keeps reappearing and I can't get my e-mails! However.......I can log into my Hotmail account using "Firefox Browser" and I can get my e-mails, but I don't like their ads, where as with Thunderbird there are no ads! :-) How do I get your program to work again? I assume something changed, to make it not work, but I don't now what that would have been, do you? After receiving several spoof emails trying to tell me that Sky Yahoo was ceasing, Thunderbird is now useless. I deleted every spoof email, without actioning them. I am unable to even get into Settings, as I get a buffering indication. The latest genuine email I received was on 17th July. I get headings along the top of Thunderbird, which are just buffering. I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled a genuine copy from the Thunderbird website and it STILL shows the same problem. I include a screenshot to demonstrate the problem.

While sending messages to multiple recipients not listed in an address list, I do miss this feature - ie one that upon a click shows the number of recipients. You know, If we know our daily sending allowance courtesy of the provider, then such a feature would allow us to work more efficiently.

In the course of my work I was scrolling back and forth through the emails in my inbox when I suddenly could not scroll any later than 12 days before the present date. I can scroll through emails previous to that normally. I then sent a test email to this account from a different account and it was received and displayed correct. So I am unable to access any emails between 12 days ago and now, like something took a bite out of my emails.

Twice recently friends have reported to me that they have received emails purporting to be from my email address and these are not from me. So scammers have somehow been able to access my address book, know my address and send false messages. What can I do to prevent this?

I did a search for disappearing email and saw many instances of this and although I read through the solutions, I don't know if any apply to me so I am asking about it.

I received a payment on 7/6 from a client. It was a Zelle payment notification from my bank.

Yesterday the same client sent the same payment. When I downloaded the mails from over night, I saw the new payment notification. However I wanted to move the email from the Inbox to a Sales folder just as I had done 20 days ago with the previous payment.

I then opened the Sales folder and the mail wasn't there. I did a whole system search by the sender and the subject and all it found was the 7/6 mail. The 7/26 mail is gone, as if it was a hallucination.

Since I knew I got the mail, and so I know I got paid, but it bothers me that other mails are being lost as well.

I am running Windows 10 and my Tbird shows "up to date". I am running Malwarebytes which allowed the first message through as it did this time. I can't fathom how a mail can disappear just moving it from one folder to another.

Help please!

I no longer receive emails from a company I do business with. I previously received all of their emails but none in the past several months. They have not made any changes so it must be a Thunderbird issue. I was told to check my spam/junk folder but I can't find in Thunderbird. Can you help?

I printed an email from Thunderbird before responding to it. When I went to reply, it had disappeared from the Inbox. After some hunting I found it in the All Mail folder, but it refused to be moved or copied to the Inbox. Even when I forwarded it to myself it did not appear in the Inbox. The message was still present on the Gmail server but Thunderbird would not download it via Imap. Have I missed a setting or does Thunderbird consider an email to be deleted once it is printed?

Hi, I am using Thunderbird version 115.13.0 (64 bit) on a Windows 10 PC with the only add-on being “Send Later”. Yesterday Thunderbird was working fine when I closed down my PC. Having just started my PC today I am finding that no emails in any of my folders are showing in Thunderbird. Weirdly the emails do temporarily “flicker” on in the folder but rapidly disappear. Any thoughts on how I rectify this? Hoping someone can help, Wayne

After Thunderbird is running for a while, it "freezes" with a message saying it is no longer responding. When I click on shut it down it says it is reporting this to windows . After shutting it down windows 10 basically reboots (it takes a while) before I can click on the Thunderbird icon again. Been happening for several weeks.

After uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird, two sound files now play sequentially whenever a message arrives. Formerly, only one sound file played. I can't find the setting to fix this.

I just installed Thunderbird on a new computer today and migrated an account from an old computer. I'm looking at previous posts for migration issues.

The pressing issue right now is the color scheme in both Thunderbird AND Windows.

I installed Thunderbird (Version 102.15.1 32-bit because that's what I had on my old computer) and it had its standard colors. I was personalizing the appearance in the settings. I suddenly -- not when I was doing any adjustments to colors, fonts, anything at all -- got the most awful shades of pink and peach, and get this -- not only in Thunderbird, but in Windows! (Windows 10 Pro) I had changed absolutely nothing in my Windows display. I simply set up Thunderbird, moved to close it and did close it, and everything on my computer changed. The Windows taskbar is still my normal color, but buttons within Windows, borders and buttons on ALL of my apps such as my browser (Iron Browser), you name it ...... something happened within Thunderbird and to my entire computer. I can't get rid of it by changing the customize appearance in Windows.

I didn't do anything! Except maybe I did? I wasn't doing anything at the time within my Thunderbird settings when it happened -- I know that -- but it did happen while I was looking at Thunderbird's settings and when I closed it. Does anybody have any idea as to what I may have inadvertently done, and how to undo it?

Since that last update (128.0) I can hardly tell the difference between read and unread messages. Particularly when there are just a few messages of the same kind with no basis for comparison. I've looked through previous threads and found some solutions that involve modifying scripts. I had ChatGpt help me with the maneuver , but it didn't change anything. I would also be satisfied with another font in the headline or another background color - just something that ensure sure I do not miss an important mail in the stack.

when i open thunderbird i get a box asking for a password for microsoft i remember this before and had to put in an app password but cannot remember how i found it

TB says I have 34 messages but none are visible. Version 115.13.0 Lately I've been having to click another folder like Drafts or Sent then click back on Inbox to get them to show. But now even that does not work

Need to create a file with a list of all 'mail folder' names, just containing all the folder names displayed on the left-hand side of the main Thunderbird display. Thanks.

I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird for nigh on 20 years now and have always used the the DEFAULT INBOX MSF file listing as shown in the attached screenshot entitled " MSF Normal Legacy Format", namely

                                            Correspondent, Subject, Date 

with all entries sorted in chronological order and new emails entries in bold.

I encountered my first ever "Building Summary file for Inbox" in 20 years.

All the inbox emails were rebuild BUT the format of the rebuild is completely different now with an extremely annoying format of:

                                           Correspondent,             > Subject            Date

where the > symbol launches a tree or layered listing of previously dated inbox emails linked by the subject title as shown in the attached screenshot "MSF File Rebuild Tree or Layered Format"

THIS IS EXTREMELY IRRITATING AS IT CORRUPTS THE TRUE CHRONOLOGICAL LISTING.

Could you please advise how I can change the format of the MSF file shown in the "MSF Normal Legacy Format" where emails are just as:

                                                      Correspondent, Subject, Date  in chrono order without the treeing or layering.

My version of Mozilla Thunderbird is 115.13.0 (64 Bit) running on Windows 7 Professional
