Ctrl+Shift+D does not bring up bookmark dialog [no response]. Only way to "save all tabs" now is to press alt+B, then move mouse pointer to dropdown menu and select the "save all tabs" menu item with the mouse poiter [only]. This kind of defeats the "keyboard shortcut" approach to ease of use. Previous behavior was by pressing Ctrl+Shift+D would bring up a save bookmarks dialog, and I'm done. I use a lot of "save all tabs". This is only become an issue since apparently installing Firefox v115.12.0esr version 2 days ago, which I didn't hardly remember happening. Although I am running Win8.1, but as stated this was not issue before the newer version Firefox installed. This does not appear to be a Win8.1 incompatibility issue. I have intended to upgrade to Win10, but have other more pressing events recently [accidents, hospitals, etc, etc,etc.] My keyboard tests OK. The Ctrl+Shift+D combination registers as an OK keyboard combination. [?] I've run FF with extensions disabled - same results. [?] Thanks.

For the last several weeks (can't give an exact date, but it's been more than just a couple weeks, less than a couple months), both my husband and I have had issues loading videos in FF. We both have the latest version of FF. I went thru "Fix common audio and video issues" and did all those things, as well as trying to load the videos in troubleshooting mode. Nothing has helped (tho now that i cleared all the cache, i'm gonna have to log back into all those websites :( ). Nothing else is problematic. Our internet connection is fine. In fact, my husband has resorted to using MS browser to watch videos--they load fine in that browser. I have no other idea what to do. Searching your database for "youtube videos load slow" only resulted in a couple hits with no resolution. Hopefully this isn't the third. thanks

Every 10-15 days Firefox crashes on one of the machines.

The only error I have is the "No mapping between account names and security IDs was done" in the Event Viewer at the time of the crash.

Firefox and the system fully up to date. The system exhibits no other issues.

Windows 11 Pro, no domain, crashes happen on multiple accounts on that machine.

The user is not signed in at the time of the crash. They have been using the same add-ons for years, but just to rule it out, Troubleshooting mode was attempted to no avail.

AV has been completely removed temporarily to avoid any conflicts.

I installed Firefox years ago. This morning, when I click on the browser icon, I get this message: Error platform '127.0.2' is not compatible with minVersion>= 127.0.1 maxVersion<= 127.0.1

What is going on? The browser updates itself so I don't do anything. But now, it doesn't work. I use an alternate browser to send this message to you.

YouTube has been so slow in Firefox. It just takes a ton of time for the video to actually play. It's just a spinning circle in a video. I can refresh several times and then it plays. I cleared my cache, history, data...etc everything from Firefox. That seemed to help for a bit. Then it just resulted back to being slow. It's just in Firefox. I played videos in Edge. It was fine. No issues. It's just FireFox. It started most recently too. It wasn't happening a week ago. I even tried going back to an old version of Firefox. Didn't help. Anyone know how to fix? Not using ad blockers either FYI. I just want videos to play normally and fast.

Everytime I load Firefox the bookmarks sidebar is not shown.

Navigating thus View => Sidebar => Bookmarks I can bring it up. It will stay visible for the whole of my browser session. However, after I've closed this session and started another. the bookmark sidebar is missing again.

How can I make the bookmarks sidr be available all the time?

FF 127.0.2 OS Windows 11 Pro v 24H2 Build(26100.994).

So my firefox crashed, I had over 50 tabs with information I want to read later when I have time, so they usually pile up. I tried to restore when I got the error when starting up firefox. It said it was successful, but there were literally no tabs available.

Is there a way to access older syncs? Since I assume my now synced state is this empty hell.

I normally have a few tabs open all the time. When I close FF with the windows x on the title bar it closes and when I click the FF logo pinned on the taskbar FF opens with my previous session tabs, this is normal way work. Then for some reason it suddenly changes so when I open FF I get a new window with no tabs. I usually can recover this with >History>Recently closed tabs. But if FF is started with a link in a document, I deal with that and when it closes I realise that it had opened a new window, when it closes there is no recently closed tabs history and I've lost them all. I think this happens because the link opened a new window and closed it automatically and now because it had no more tabs open there is no tab history to recover. But then it stays like that. Every time I open FF it opens a new blank window, I click the >Recently closed tabs and get it back. Then close the new blank window then close FF but it doesn't re-open with the previous tabs even though it's set to do so. It works OK for a while and then suddenly starts this aberration. I've tried getting help on this before and was advised to close FF >3Bars>Exit but that closes all open sessions rather than just the one I want to close. This problem has been on going for a long time and is extremely annoying when all the tabs are lost. I even suggested that there could be a session stack maybe 10 or 20 so we could open that and recover any of the stack sessions we wanted. I'm sorry to say that FF is not the reliable browser it once was.

One of the add-in permissions is "Access your data for sites in the “named” domain". I looked at that and thought, "That certainly cannot include passwords"; BUT the explanation for this permission is: "The extension could read the content of web pages you visit in the specified domain, as well as data you enter into those web pages, such as usernames and passwords. "

I was stunned.

That means that addins that get this permission have access to my banking/medical/etc. usernames & passwords. This is not acceptable. Can a permission be developed that would be: "Access your data for sites in the “named” domain" (except usernames/passwords).

The permission "Access your data for all websites" is significantly worse in that it applies to all sites.

Version 127.0.2 for linux. Opening a direct link to a pdf file gives the error --- Downloading [file].pdf.part (header) [...].pdf.part could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to a different location. --- The file name is 144 characters long including spaces. I don't have any technical browser experience so I'll put what I know. When I click on the link instead of opening as Save As, which I think it should, it immediately gives me that error. I have the ask me where to save thing checked. My home directory is ecryptfs. Ecryptfs says it has a max file name of 143 characters. Mine stops working after 140 characters or 144 including ".pdf". Anyways I think the file name breaks my file system. I was trying to download two pdfs. This is another one I tried to download earlier that gave me the error. I don't pirate. I was able to download it with wget while choosing a shorter filename. I don't know why it wouldn't let me choose after clicking the link. Additionally clicking save link as allows me to choose a file name and continue normally. I have a few more problems I'd like to put in this ticket. A. After giving me the error Firefox crashed immediately afterwards. This was a few days ago. Firefox has never crashed like that before in months. I don't remember exactly what happened but it did crash. If crash logs are needed I can find it. B. After attempting to downloading a video (mp4) file this happened. The mp4 file didn't show up anywhere but a -1 byte part file showed up. It took the name of a subfolder in the folder I had intended to download the image file. I'll explain it in further detail below. I attempted to download an image in /home/user/Documents. In the Documents folder I had another folder which I'll call example. So /Documents/example. I did save the video in Documents but I don't think that mattered. After closing the save as box that popped up after clicking save video I noticed the weird file show up in the Downloads tab. It showed up in the "example" folder and took the name "example".part. Remember I never chose the "example" folder but I did choose the Documents folder. All my files inside the "example" folder broke and I couldn't delete the weird part file. Clicking properties showed the permissions could not be determined. When I interacted with it (I think I tried deleting it) it gave me an error with "gvfsd-admin daemon". I don't remember what it said exactly. I applied my folder's permissions to its contents and I was able to delete it. It doesn't show up in my downloads manager now. I ran clamav and everything was fine. Note I downloaded the video from a trusted source, twimg or the twitter video host. C. Finally when downloading a pdf link that worked, I didn't get the file app box that allows you to save as. I stated above that I have the ask me where to save thing turned on. I don't know if that was a feature or what. Here's the link. Earlier today I had to do a complete software reset on my MacBook Pro (running Sonoma 14.5). Prior to the reset, I had been running the newest version of Firefox and was signed in; I assumed that Sync was on and that it was storing my passwords and bookmarks.

After the system reset, I re-installed Firefox and signed in again, but none of my passwords or bookmarks are showing up. However, under connected services, I still see the old (pre-reset) name of my MacBook Pro, in addition to the MacBook Pro's current name.

Is it possible to retrieve my pre-reset passwords and bookmarks?

Every time I open my Firefox browser (it is my default), even during a session when the browser has not closed, I get a pop-up prompting me to download an update. After numerous attempts to download the update, it still did not show up in my download folder nor did I see the download run or prompt a "finish". I checked download history and finally see that it says it installed on 6/25 but I am still getting repeated prompts to download and install an update.

This is maddening. I am using Windows 10 Enterprise on an HP Elite Desk.

Please help me fix this!

I opened Tbird to see what version the new Ubu 24.04 installed (115.12.0, which I discovered wouldn't be published, so I downloaded v.r.2. In this set of FF (127.0.1) pages now, the mouse wheel will not scroll. It works everywhere else in my installation (24.04).

Ideas?

FF settings have "smooth scrolling" checked; unchecked it did nothing to improve. mouse is a ~recent Logitech (M317c) which as noted, works in all other apps.

Since the penultimate and now the last current update to version 127.0.2 (64Bit), the button (tile with the + sign) to add new shortcuts is no longer available. How can new shortcuts be added now?

I have been using [edited] @comcast.net as user name for Firefox account. I want to delete that email because I'm leaving comcast ASAP. I read instruction that say add a new email name as a secondary account and then delete the primary one above. I entered [edited[ @gmail.com. I got a message that said that account already exists. Since I didn't know that or remember any password for it, I entered [edited] @gmail.com and said "forgot password." I changed it Now Firefox won't let me in using the [edited] @gmail.com account. Would appreciate any help you can offer.
