I posted this the other day and have had no reply or I maybe cannot find the thread. Please help.

I cannot send messages from Thunderbird since it was last updated on my pc. Version 115.12.2 (32 bit). I have checked the server settings and they have not changed in years. I have been in touch with Virgin Media, my service provider, and I can send emails when logged on to my account and not involving Thunderbird. I can also send emails from my mobile phone using Gmail. The issue would seem to be with Thunderbird and this recent update. Please point me in the right direction, bearing in mind I am not particularly computer literate.

WHY is it that I can get into my email account through Thunderbird and download mail, but when I try to go into the account manually I can't? I go into the settings copy the password, then manually input it into gmail, but it says it's the wrong password? I am using MacOS 10.14.6, and Thunderbird 115.12.2 (64-bit)

It seems like a difficult problem, which no one knows how to solve, not even Firefox (?) The problem has existed for a while and has not been recognized and resolved by Fiorefox. Very simple and straightforward problem: open a web page, give permission for location (this is indeed set in the settings) and the web page can determine the location. After closing the web page and restarting it, the location is blocked again, even though the settings states that Firefox still has access to the location.

I can't SEND on Thunderbird as of Update to Version 115.12.1 on 6/19. I was able to SEND on June 18th and left town for a week and when I came back could not Send. That could be a coincidence. Have Windows 11, with Defender Firewall and Security virus protection. I have TB version 115.12.2 up to date. I have checked with Spectrum for the correct configuration and currently I have as Description: SMTP Server (on top line); Server Name: Mail.brighthouse.com and Port 465, No Authentication and SSL/TLS. My User Name: e-mail address ends in @tampabay.rr.com and that is the same as shown on incoming server.

My husband just downloaded TB program on his Windows 8.1 which is my old computer that I've been running TB on for 15 years without a hitch!! ''''And he also cannot SEND.'''' It's very frustrating - we've tried changing server settings since Spectrum uses not only Brighthouse (which is the one they say covers the Tampabay.rr.com address) but they also use Mobil.charter.net and also TWC.com. I've tried changing them up but nothing works. I've tried changing Ports and anything I could change I did, but nothing works. I did get a couple of error msgs but they didn't help. Brighthouse timed out and another msg was saying that the email address I was sending as had to match the email address of the authentication and that didn't make sense as I have only had one address & (typed correctly in all places). I have called Spectrum more than once and asked for an upper level, however, they were no help at all saying they have no resp. for 3rd party etc. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP SOLVE THIS MYSTERY. Thank you!

I found missing customization option for Android Firefox to be AMOLED black theme, it just gets darker but not pitch black. Or I haven't found the way to do it

I am using an older MacBook Pro running Mojave 10.14.6, for which the latest Firefox is 115.12.0ser (64-bit). It has always been working like a champ, but a few weeks ago, individual YouTube video pages look very odd. Usually the related recommended videos are along the right edge in one row, and below the default video window is the title, description, and then the comments.

The problem I have is that these two components became transposed, and if the video is displayed as full screen, the page can be pushed upwards to show the title etc got squashed below the video window, with the recommended videos still in a grid below it. I hope the included pictures are sufficient to illustrate the issue.

Another computer, an iMac running El Capitan 10.11.6, and Firefox 78.15.0ser owned by a family member, does not show this odd phenomenon. I must say I am quite intrigued by this, and would greatly appreciate any help my fellow members can offer.

After Thunderbird update 115.12.2(20240621154414) was installed on my PC on the 25/6/2024 I am unable to receive emails. I continue to get an error message on account noeljc@optusnet.com.au (IMAP)

   Connection to server mail.optusnet.com.au timed out.

or Failed to connect to server mail.optusnet.com.au. I have looked thru all the forums and tried various solutions without success including extending the setting for mailnews.tcptimeout to 3000. I have checked and validated my account server settings are as recommended by my ISP(Optus) are correct for authenticated emails. I even turned off my Norton VPN completely to no avail even though I use Split tunnelling to allow Thunderbird thru it as an exclusion. It appears to me there maybe a bug in the last Thunderbird update causing this. I have had this issue in the past at various times intermittently but it has always seemed to correct itself. I have been in contact with my ISP(Optus) regarding this error and all they could say was to logon to email server via webmail and did not offer any other solution. It appears there is a communication breakdown between my PC and the Email server somewhere. As I stated this only happened after the last Thunderbird update on my PC on 25/6 as it was working up until 24/6. I also have another optus email account for my wife on Thunderbird which has the same error messages. Could the Mozilla gurus please advise what to do.

I am unable to read or reply to emails. And when I close the email it shows it as still unread. I have tech support with Best Buy Geek Squad. They were unable to help, but said there was a glitch with the email program. Also is there a phone # I can call. I work from home and my email is my lifeline. Please help!

A tab popped up, I didn’t click anything. It has a very spammy looking website. How do I block them? To whom this may concern,

Hi! I am having issues with loosing tabs in private browsing mode. In the past I could have dozens of tabs open in private browsing mode for months at a time, but it seems like after the new update as soon as I leave Firefox all of my open private browsing mode my tabs disappear.

Is this an intentional new feature? Is there a way to turn it off? I would like to keep my private browsing mode tabs open after I leave the Firefox browsing app (I am not exiting or deleting any tabs or the app when I leave).

I'm not able to upload files to certain websites using Firefox on Android.

When selecting a file for the phone's file manager, the file upload simply not starting.

However, Firefox on iOS doesn't have that issue.

Firefox version used is the latest one and it is the one from Google Play.

Tried another browser and it works great.

I've had thunderbird running on my desktop for many years. I tried setting it up identically on my android and it doesn't work. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as I run the server side as well. How do you get thunderbird to accept no username or password for the outbound server? I'm using postfix and it only accepts outbound email from my ip address.

I have been dealing with problems with Firefox and YouTube for a long time. Every time I open a YouTube video in a new tab it would always give me this grey screen that goes away after a long time waiting.

I have tried:

• Refreshing Firefox
• Reinstalling Firefox
• Troubleshoot Mode, which the problem persist in troubleshoot mode so its not an addon
• Tried creating a new profile
• User-Agent Switcher which doesn't work all the time.

I want to avoid going chromium-based browsers but this is making me consider.

Microsoft sent email last night announcing the end of "Normal Password" for Hotmail, and warning that Hotmail would REQUIRE "modern authrentication" beginning 9/16. I have personal desktop subscription to Microsoft 365. I have set Microsoft account to 2FA and checked in Tbird that cookies are enabled.

I have spent hours and days trying & failing. With server imap-mail.outlook.com using OAUTH2, Thunderbird won't sync and shows message saying that server doesn't support the authentication protocol please enter another one. With 2FA still turned on and using Normal Password setting and entering an App Password from Microsoft, the Imap connection is fine about 85% of the time, needing re-entry of the App password about once a day or so (usually requires several tries until App Password gets accepted.)

The 0AUTH2 fails with Norton Smart Firewall turned Off or Turned On-makes no difference.

(Sending email with Outlook and 0AUTH2 DOES work okay.)

I've also tried Imap connection with a different server: Outlook.office365.com, using 0AUTH2.

In this case, Tbird shows me a Timeout error and never makes an Imap connection to the server.  

I've been limping along with the app password, and "normal password" authentication, but now Microsoft announces they will stop accepting connections that are not 0Auth2 ("modern authentication") from Tbird or any other software after 9/16. The clock is ticking. I've tried every remedy I've seen online from Tbird or from Microsoft. Nothing has yet allowed a QAUTH connection for Tbird to a hotmail IMAP server. Please help! !

I have just migrated Thunderbird to my new CUBI desktop running Windows 11. I get security errors when I launch Thunderbird. My email provider The Messaging Company advised me to change server settings, which are now shown in the Troubleshooting Information page as account1 (pop3) pop.themessagingco.com.au:995 SSL/TLS Normal password smtp.themessagingco.com.au:587 STARTTLS Normal password true.

On launching Thunderbird I get the message Secure connection failed live.mozillamessaging.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate has expired. Error code: <a id="errorCode" title="SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_ISSUER_CERTIFICATE">SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_ISSUER_CERTIFICATE</a>

   This could be a problem with the server's configuration, or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.
   If you have connected to this server successfully in the past, the error may be temporary, and you can try again later.

Or you can add an exception…

AND when I attempt to send an email I get warning that the SMTP server does not have a valid certificate. If I ask, in either case, to "Get Certificate" the response is that the site attempts to identify itself with invalid information.

I have "tried again later" over two weeks, and nothing has changed.

The Messaging Company is a fairly large email provider: it seems strange that its security is incomplete. However, I am not happy to just set an exception and over-ride these errors without doing all I can to check that there is not something screwy going on. I really value using Thunderbird, and The Messaging Company's advice that I should just use webmail is not at all satisfactory: I keep everything on my computer or backed up to a portable drive here.

Please: is there anything I can do or should know to fix this problem?
