The end caps are there but have no color apart from the scroll bar channel

more options

I am running the Linux Mint 17.3 using the MATE desktop and Firefox 60.0.1, all of it being 64 bits. (Shave-and-a-hair-cut: 2-bits) I can cash this all in and get 32 haircuts! >AHEM<

My scroll bar is "missing" the end caps, as the caps and the channel are the same color. They are still there and are functional.

I saw where I have some right-click menu CSS reference points that I can use in my userChrome.css file to make alterations and get rid of controls I do not need. There must be some CSS reference points to alter the colors of the scroll bar elements?

Thank you.

Chosen solution

I've been reluctant to upgrade from 17.3 to, I see now it's 18.3 because of a Morse code program that I was using and it might go out of existence if I upgraded. It allowed me to convert something I typed into a .wav file of Morse code. It was my intent to remake some of these, and still is a desire, but my situation has changed considerably in the intervening years!

I see "gtk3" stuff in my Software Manager. I will direct a question in my Linux forum about it. Likely I have a command line means to find what I am using.

I'll ask another question if I need to, and call this thread solved for now. These missing end caps are not really as much an issue as my getting tangled in the right-click navigation buttons. (I tend to drop a right click menu with a twitch of a finger resting on the mouse. Aggravating!)

Thank you for the theme info and the possible solution if I just wait for FF 61! (There is plenty of blue language aimed at this computer when MY shortcomings tangle with the HIDs!)

Thanks again!

The missing scrollbar arrows tells me you are likely have a GTK2 theme in use on your Linux distro instead of a GTK3 theme.

The official Firefox builds for Linux from Mozilla since 46.0+ have required both GTK 3.4 (three.four) or later (you should have GTK 3.10.8 or later according to distrowatch) and also GTK3 Themes for Firefox to be themed. If a GTK2 theme is in use then Firefox will look unthemed and some glitches like say missing the scroolbar arrows. Some Linux distros may have delayed this change in their Firefox packages until later versions.

I notice the same on Linux, but only in Firefox 60 are the buttons missing although it works if I click in the space where they should be. Firefox 59 and older and Firefox 61 and later show the scroll buttons on the scroll bar.

You can check this out in the current Beta or Developer Edition build.

Make sure you create a new profile folder of each Firefox version (i.e. do not share a profile).
