No further details needed, I think, but feel free to ask.

You right click on the tab that you want to keep and click "close other tabs". Did this help?

I've done that, but I only want one to open when I start my browser, not 5. Don't want to have to keep turning off all the others. Thank you for trying to help. though.

It has, somehow, solved itself. No idea how. Thank you.

You can check the home page setting and the startup page setting. Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

  • Options/Preferences -> General -> Startup: Home page
  • Options/Preferences -> General -> Startup: "When Firefox starts":
    "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
    "Show my home page"
    "Show a blank page"
