I have tried to get rid of "searchencrypt" and "jiffsearch" as search engines because they always bring me first to sometimes two pages of ads and sponsored until I can hardly find the site I wanted. I do not have that problem on Chrome, which I hate to use because it's part of G----- monopoly. I used to love Firefox but I can't use it if I have have those two search engines.

Hello,

Unfortunately you've got malware - Search Encrypt is a browser hijacker, and 'jiffsearch' will probably be the same.

Your system details show that Search Encrypt is installed in : 3-bar menu => Add-ons => Extensions, so you'll definately need to remove it.

Also go to Windows Control Panel => Programs, and remove anything that looks suspicious.

However : most malware will be 'hiding' somewhere , so let's run malware scans (even though you already have run some) :

Further information can be found in this article : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. They all work differently - what one program doesn't pick up, the other might.

I can't say this worked, but at least it explains why I can't use Firefox to do a Bing or Google search. (I did suspect it was malware when I saw the location of Searchencrypt is CYPRUS. Hot home of technology. Thanks.
