this needs to be able to be disabled. I cannot view my reports on medicare.gov due to this security measure. Help and forums are not helpful.... It says just open in a new window, but if you do that, you have to log in and then it is not a new window, and will not open. Now I have to go another browser which irritates me to no end because I have used firefox always. There are many sites that have embedded information and reports that I would like to see, but cannot and they are perfestly SAFE. NOT ok firefox.

What happened to the word "Firefox" at the top left of the browser? I help a lot of folks with computers, and since most things are done in a browser, sometimes have to ask them what browser they're using and there's no easy way to tell from just looking. Even hitting ALT to bring up the menu says nothing about it being Firefox.

Is there a way to put that back/why removed?

If not, I'll send feedback to Mozilla requesting that be added back but they don't seem responsive to such feedback.

Thanks.

Basically I just bought a 4k monitor while also planning to use the old 1080p one. As it turns out the default size setting makes the fonts on the big screen too small, or the small screen too big.

In Windows this wouldn't be an issue since I can just use multi scale. Ubuntu has that too, but it weirdly implemented and causes the smaller screens to be kinda blurly. The accepted solution is to use Wayland but it causes everything to be unbearably slow to me so that's out.

Not expecting such an odd use-case to have an implemented solution but I'm eager to be surprised.

I have been using addons, that allow opening web pages in sidebar, and all share a similar drawback, which is why I believe it to be on the browser side. When I close the sidebar and open it again, the page gets reloaded. This makes using messengers etc. in sidebar much less comfortable. I noticed, however, that bookmarks and history, when opened in sidebar, remember the state the were in when last closed. Is there some simple way to make pages remember their state as well or it can only be done by changing the addons' or the browser's code?

firefox-esr policies.json file question

Hello All,

I am trying to enforce policies on latest firefox-esr installed through .DEB method as detailed in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux and I can launch the firefox from terminal as : > firefox-esr - Also I have removed the snap version of firefox that comes bundled with Ubuntu 22.04 x86_64 distribution.

Questions that I have are :

1. Policy Enforcement I am trying to enforce policies on firefox-esr as per the article https://mozilla.github.io/policy-templates/ and have a rather simple policies.json file stored in the folder /etc/firefox-esr/policies/ - The policies.json file is : {

 "policies":{
   "PasswordManagerEnabled": false
 }

}

However when I check the settings, the password manager is still enabled. - What is the correct path where the policies.json file stored in Ubuntu Linux distributions where firefox-esr package is installed through "Install Firefox .deb package for Debian-based distributions" and for all users ... meaning apply globally ?

2. When I removed the snap version of firefox, this also removed the icon from the quick-launch side bar / Dock Menu of Ubuntu - How do I the firefox-esr application to Ubuntu dock through command line for all users ?
