The new 128 vs. 115

Reading the version notes on 128 it wasn't clear to me all that is changing. I am very happy with 115. The layout I use is the Folder view with a folder pane and a message pane. I do not use the cards view. Will this setup be essentially the same in 128?

Also, now that you have the new code will upgrading break my add-ins like it always used to before 115? The add-ins I currently use are: FileLink provider for Send, Header Tools Improved, and PopmailListRecipients.

After several years doing online business with my local bank, I just started getting this message whenever I tried to log into my account at the bank with Firefox 129.0.2 in Windows 11 on this HP ENVY Laptop 17:

“Access Denied You are unauthorized to access this resource. Reference ID is: f0575ab8a6. Troubleshooting Steps. 1. Reload the home page and try again. 2. Clear your browser cache and try again. 3. Try logging in with a different browser. 4. Try logging in with a different device.”

My initial questions to a customer service rep at the bank were not fruitful. Following their advise, I tried reloading the bank’s login site. Still denied. I cleared the Firefox cache. No good. I was able to login successfully with another Windows computer, a desktop running Win 10, also using Firefox 129.0.2. I can also log into the bank on this laptop using both Google Chrome and MS Edge browsers. A strange wrinkle: I can log into my account with this Firefox-Computer if I use a Private Browsing Tab.

Please help me fix whatever I must have done so I can continue to use Firefox here.

I am having trouble pinning any Extensions to my toolbar. When i click on the Extensions icon (puzzle piece), the Extensions menu immediately pops up. My extension (Bitwarden) is set to "Enabled". When I click on the three horizontal dots, however, the only options are 1) Remove, 2) Report, or 3) Manage. There's no option given to pin the extension.

Because of that, the extension basically never opens, and I am unable to use it. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance.

I am running Firefox 129.0.2 (64-bit) in Windows 11 on a Surface tablet. FWIW, the extension is running fine in Chrome.

It seems to me that the fix would be to force the focus back to the main window either automatically, or if control is held while pressing tab.

I'm a newbie using Debian and Deb 12 ships with Firefox ESR and I've decided to stick with it instead of the regular release, 'cause it breaks some extensions I have. However, I want to upgrade to the latest ESR version, how do I do it? I tried going to (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-esr), but the file for linux 64 bit is a .tar.bz2 file, which I have no idea how to compile.

long term user here, thanks a lot for your awesome software, absolute essential live-saver.

A few days ago, I did the update to 128.1.0esr (64-Bit) from 115 on win11. Very smooth transition, no issues with my 4 accounts, calendars etc. Great experience.

However, since the update, QuickSearch Ctrl-Shift-K filter that did instanteaneous filters on my 25k mailfolders came to griniding halt.

What happend: - Type a search term with filters on 'subject', 'from' 'to'activate freezes the app for many wall-clock seconds (5-10). Switching to another app and switching back gives me a Windows (Thunderbird not Responsive) in the title bar of the main window during that time.

What I expected: - almost instantaneus filter without noticable lag

What I tried: - deactivate, then uninstall expression search addon incompatible with 128 - restart in Troubleshoot mode with all addons disabled - reboot OS (Win11) several times - searched forums and stackoverflow for similar issues using different search term approaches and combinations

Thank you very much for any pointers how i could resolve the issue. Thanks again for your awesome product!

I think that I need to completely uninstall TB Something went wrong on one of my computers, and it couldn't connect to the server. It works on my other computer.

I decided to uninstall TB that had the problem. I did that, but when I reinstalled it, it had all of the same settings and problems. I used RevoUnstaller. because it said When I reinstalled it, all of the stuff and the problem were back.

What is the best way to fix this?

Some nice person on this thread already offered useful help in restoring my Thunderbird program, and I appreciate that. My computer crashed in such a way that it had to be restored from my cloud back-up but that did not restore Thunderbird. After much work by my computer guy, the person who built my machine, I can now receive and send e-mails. However, my address book data and the very existence of an address book are still missing. While watching my friend work through Team Viewer I have seen parts of that data but he seems not yet to have found a way to attach it to my program. Also missing is the search function by which one can look for a word in an e-mail address or message.

The filters function is a great function but I have a bit of a complex question where filters are concerned. I want to create 30, 60, 90 day purge rules with a list of email addresses attached to each such that those specific emails from the specified addresses are deleted at the selected intervals.

Is there a way to create single time-based purge rules using a list of email addresses or must I create a purge rule for each email address individually? E.g., <Match Any of the Following> From > Is > email@example1.com From > Is > email@example2.com Age in Days > Is Greater Than > 30 <Perform These Actions> Delete Message

The way I understand the syntax of instructions, each operator is an either/or so the filter when executed would DELETE ANY message greater than 30 days AND ANY message from @example 1 or @example2. Is that reading correct or am I reading the syntax operators wrong?

However, I want the purge rule to delete only those messages from @example1 & example 2 that are 30 days old. Are my filter criteria correct in the example above to achieve this aim or should I use different instructions?

Is it possible to enter multiple email addresses in a single filter criteria and what's the proper syntax? (e.g., From > Is > email@example1.com; email@example2.com OR email@example1.com, email@example2.com)
