Today, a white bar about 1 inch wide is at the top of my screen blocking the tool bar and access to other info. How do i remove it?

I have restarted my computer and closed the browser. Still there.

A few years ago jscher2000 gave me wonderful instructions for how to create some of the features that were once easy for ordinary users like myself to control through an Extension called TabMixPlus. Apparently there was some big disagreement between the developer and Firefox and they completely disabled it. At any rate, I'm continually frustrated when I accidentally move a pinned tab to a new window while trying to move or resize Firefox. I would like to know how, in about:config, I can create a setting with which I can protect pinned tabs. Thanks.

While scrolling around I saw something that said Firefox thinks I'm operating under 'Windows 10. NOT TRUE'. I've had Windows 11 for a while now. Does it make any difference? Russ Marshall

I updated to version 129.0 and Hulu stopped streaming and news video imbedded in news articles will no longer load. I have removed and reinstalled Firefox and cleared all cache. It is affecting my desktop and laptop. Both operating systems are windows 10 64 bit. I made sure the Firefox download was 64 bit. The problem is not the websites as they will load and attempt to load content but it behaves as if it is being blocked. It is not my antivirus because I have turned is off and there is no difference.

My screen went black this morning and I couldn't get the screen to reappear. I turned the power off, then waited a minute or two before turning it back on. My usual screen with all the apps was gone and replaced by a generic "windows" screen. I had to re-enter all kinds of information and I'm finally able to see my bookmarks, but all of my documents and pictures stored on my computer are completely gone. Did Mozilla/Firefox perform an update? And if so, how do I get back to my personalized screen - and more importantly my stored documents and pictures?!!

Every time I close Firefox and go on Youtube, I have to log in to my google account again just to watch something. It stays logged in while Firefox is open, but as soon as it closes it logs me out.

For two days now Gmail has been unstable on Firefox. It keeps displaying this message: "Oops - The system encountered a problem (#001)".

While in that state, the send messages folder is empty, and I can't attach documents to an email.

Google suggests clearing the browser cache and cookies. Don't want to do that - much work required to recover.

this needs to be able to be disabled. I cannot view my reports on medicare.gov due to this security measure. Help and forums are not helpful.... It says just open in a new window, but if you do that, you have to log in and then it is not a new window, and will not open. Now I have to go another browser which irritates me to no end because I have used firefox always. There are many sites that have embedded information and reports that I would like to see, but cannot and they are perfestly SAFE. NOT ok firefox.

Every time I close the sidebar for bookmarks, it reappears when I open firefox again. I don't want it to appear at all if i can help it. Looking online only seems to show me how to toggle it on and off.

Westpac keep telling me it is the fault of my browser. While I was trying safe mode, deleting the cookies and cache etc. I came across this bit of odd information -

Westpac have been telling me for two months that it is Firefox's fault, but I don't see how, given that it has always worked before. Finding this data makes me think the problem is Westpac's fault but they just keep saying the same old thing - use another browser. Well I don't want to! I have visual difficulties and my Firefox is heavily customised to account for that.

What is actually happening is that when I enter my information on the log In Page: https://banking.westpac.com.au/wbc/banking/handler?TAM_OP=login&logout=false then click on the sign in button the screne goes white like it is going to log in and then the sign in page comes back up without the information I had entered.

Is there any thing you can do to help me?

I'm using FireFox 129 64bit on Windows 10. I have Google set as my default search engine.

Lately, when I type search criteria into the address bar and press Enter, nothing happens. And if I then try to navigate to google.com at that time, it just doesn't load at all. This doesn't happen every time, but it has been happening often enough to be annoying. So I just load up Yahoo instead to conduct my search.

No other site has this problem.

Is this a problem with google.com itself, or with Firefox's handling of it?
