Hello,

I was having a problem recently with blue screens of death so I had to factory reset my PC - but not before backing up my personal files to an external hard drive.

Upon re-downloading Firefox, my saved passwords have pulled through with my profile (thankfully) but my bookmarks have not.

Am I missing something or should they have pulled through too?

I've tried the obvious like "Manage Bookmarks -> Import & Backup" and also looking for the file manually in AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\q6xxdvnd.default-release\bookmarkbackups

If anyone is able to help, it would be much appreciated

There was some kind of Firefox upgrade today that has just thrown everything into chaos. I have tried to recreate my tabs--they don't show up in my history--and have done okay with that. My google scholar extension button, though enabled, doesn't show up. I don't know wtf happened but it is all a literal headache.

I'm the last person I know who still uses Firefox--this may be the last straw.

I have browser.messaging-system.whatsNewPanel.enabled set to "false". And yet when I update firefox, there's still a new tab opening telling me useless information.

I don't want firefox to ever automatically open a new tab ever, for anything, ever. I don't care what's new, I don't care what changed, I just don't care. I want to permanently and completely disable firefox from opening a new tab to tell me literally anything.

Please don't try to argue or convince me otherwise. It's such weird and rude behavior. Just please, how do I disable this feature that is annoying to me?

Firefox should never be able to open a new tab on its own. Any tab openings should be done by user action.

Hello, Today I was writing a draft post on Substack and the screen refreshed every few seconds. Possibly when Substack was saving changes. Each time it did this, the screen would go blank for an instant and refresh, and then I would have to click to place my cursor where it had been.

This is new as of this week. I was not writing on Substack using Firefox last week.

Firefox version 128.0, on Windows 10 Home v 22H2

I have "Open previous windows and tabs" checked in the settings, And have been using firefox in that manner for years, Like I would close the browser, And would beable to come back to what I was working on. But after an update, I came back to all my tabs gone, And I opened multiple tabs and closed, And opened the browser again and there were no more tabs. I am a web developer and working on speed optimization for a food blog site" Menudale" and I have done all checks for speed of loading but it only shows a slow speed loading in Firefox however I have optimized all its food recipes photos and videos including all food content in it but not found mistake.

Please help me figure out what is keeping Firefox from opening. I have reinstalled it and it worked yesterday but today after restarting my computer, it will not open.

When I click on "Log in" to the top right of the page, it brings up statefarm.com's login page https://proofing.statefarm.com/login-ui/login?

My userid and password are pre-populated, thank you Firefox! So far so good.

But when I press the Login button, the page blinks to the Logout page, blinks again, and settles on the Logout page https://proofing.statefarm.com/login-ui/logout

Tried the same thing in Chrome, but this doesn't happen, and I am able to log in normally.

Twice, I have tried the following sequence:

1. Manually close browser 2. Closed Firefox in Task Manager 3. Refresh Firefox 4. Uninstall parent.lock and .parentlock files 5. Reinstall Firefox

Also observed several iterations of Firefox running simultaneously and using significant CPU and Memory resources.

This "Firefox is already running but is not responding" has gotten out-of-hand and I have switched back to MS Edge until Mozilla fixes their problem.

How do I get my Firefox browser account reconnected?. I've tried several re-installs (of Firefox) and now I've lost all my data, plus get a "Account disconnected" message; showing my correct email adress.

Any help greatly appreciated. I used to sync to my mobile, is there a way I can get my data back from maybe there; after I get the account reconnected please?

Certain websites I use such as for cities, files will not show up in pop up download windows. Where as they will if I'm using chrome. I could not find anything in settings to adjust.

Since the last update (I'm on 127.0.2) or at least very recently in the last 2 weeks, my tabs previously closed with Firefox as a whole that should open with Firefox, on start up, don't and I'm redirected to my homepage.

(I have tried finding help on other posts of the same nature but can't seem to make it work hence the new post.)

I have tried changing my homepage to verify it was redirecting me to it. It did. I have tried restarting my computer. Didn't work. I have tried disabling and re-enabling the options. Didn't work. I have tried all this on my work and personal computer. Same results. (They do not share the same settings)

I feel like Firefox opens my previous tabs, opens Firefox once again on the homepage and then closes the window with all tabs. I'm saying this because it happened 2 to 4 times that after I restart my computer, it opens 2 windows on 2 different windows desktops like I did when I worked before. (with the previously closed window on the second window opened...) Also, another reason for me to believe this is : the newly opened windows have a format which I used to open my second and third Firefox windows with that were very different from my first one (usually full screen).

I am lost at what I could try to do to fix the issue. I'm not sure how much of what I shared can help to find a solution so I tried to dump as much related info as I could.

When I click on Add-On Support it says Page Not Found. That's pretty basic. Screenshot attached. This is not a button/link for a specific add-on, it's for Firefox as a whole.

Additionally, when I use LastPass, the LastPass icon does not appear anywhere I can access it, which is a basic feature that works properly in Chrome. I use this add-on multiple times per day which makes it very difficult to use Firefox as my main browser because I can't do 2-clicks to get to my passwords, I have to go to lastpass.com and login to their website, even though the add-on is installed.
