I returned from holiday to find a new version of Thunderbird running on my PC. All the old email folders going back to 2017 and all my emails prior to 14 Aug. 2024 were gone! I don't have a back up of my hard drive. Is there any way to retrieve the folders and emails? Cheers Chris

when I google or duckduckgo - my results are manipulated. when I visit sites like amazon, substack, indeed - really any major or secure website, the results seem manipulated.

note: the results are not typical algorithm results - they are jokey or insulting, out of context with the search query. the person doing this has been at this for a long time. they know me, etc.

it happens whether I'm logged into the site or just surfing like a guest

This happens in Firefox and any other browser (Safari, Brave, Chrome)

how do i stop this?

All of a sudden, when I hover over a tab, a small window of the web site that tab is in, appears. Never happened before.

I did go into Performance Options - Visual Effects and unchecked "enable peek," but it didn't work.

How do I stop these windows from appearing?

We had 6 or 7 address books yesterday. Today we have two. We had at least 1,400 contacts. Now we have about four hundred...Business contacts, clients, HOA members. Auto fill of existing email addresses no longer happens, and especially this morning a new client's address was saved, we had been writing back and forth and all that info disappeared.

There were about 1200 emails in the main view yesterday. Today much smaller. I was told mozilla is quitting.

 Is mozilla disappearing and dead ?   We are very sad.  

We use mozilla to run this business. This hurts.

I downloaded Firefox on my mac-book air Mac-book (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2016) with mac OS Monterey. It will not let me sign into sync my Mozilla account. it wont let me delete my account to reset the browser.

I have tried deleting the browser entirely 3 times.

I lost my hard drive and need to load everything new. I have an older B/U copy that I would like to import all data from prior to importing my pending pop3 E-mails from Yahoo. What would be the procedure?

I use Xfinity for email and Firefox to connect to my Xfinity account. Images in my emails do not load. I've looked for help articles on how to fix this but I haven't found the solution. If I click the link in my Xfinity email that says "Open to see in browser" everything loads fine. All other web pages show images without problems. Only my email.

I quit firefox (accidentally). When I reopened Firefox, all of my tabs were gone! I have only been able to recover the most recent tabs, not the older ones. How do I recover all the tabs that I had opened in Firefox?

Please tell me what do. From time to time, Firefox will not connect my desktop to the internet. At the same time I can access the internet with my iPhone. The internet in my home is working. Right now the computer cannot connect to internet site or restore previous tabs.

I joined a couple facebook groups. Each offered a file tab with documents available for download.

I tried numerous times with firefox and it failed. Clicking the "Download" item on the ... menu caused the same files tab view and list to open in a new tab.

I hated to do it, but I dusted off M$ Internet Explorer, logged into FB and joined a group, clicked the Files tab, selected a file, clicked the 3 dots, menu popped up and I clicked "Download". Poof. The Save As popup appeared, the file was downloaded. Works as expected with IE.

Might there be a setting in FF that is blocking such downloads of PDF and .doc document files?

I've been using Firefox as my browser on my desktop for years, and I've never had any trouble with Google Maps. However, some time in the last couple of months, I seem to have lost the ability to sign in, which means I can't access my saved maps, locations, etc. When I click "sign in" on google maps, the screen appears to refresh, but the login screen never comes up.

I'm signed in to google already. If I open gmail, it does go to my account. If I open an in-private instance of Firefox, I am then able to sign in and access my maps data. However, this makes me jump through the hoops of logging in with 2FA every time. I'd much rather be able to log in on a regular Firefox browser and stay logged in.

I've written this back in March of 2024 about Being Managed By Your Organization but after reading all the ones that state "Resolved" I still don't get it! I'm using Win 10 Pro 64 Bit Enterprise and everyday or any time I reboot I have to go into the registry to find Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies and delete Mozilla which the key shows ImportEnterpriseRoots. Now I'm running Avast Premium Security and have dealt with it from what I read about anti virus programs. When it comes to going into C:\Programs\Mozilla\ it doesn't show a folder called Distribution (not sure if that is the correct name but close enough to delete some jason file. I need some plain simply answer to resolve this daily problem.If you need more information please ask since I'm at my whits end dealing with this idiotic injection where even MircoShaft thinks I'm being managed *Some settings are managed by your organization? What organization since I don't have one. Please help a senior at 74 get this resolved.
