Hi,

I've been using Thunderbird for a while now, and while I generally like it, there is a huge problem: Sometimes, for no apparent reason, it doesn't retrieve any emails from either of the two accounts that I have connected to it. This happens maybe once a week or so, and it can take a few hours for me to notice, because it simply looks as if no new emails would be coming in - which is perfectly possible. But then someone tells me they sent me an email two hours ago, or I shut down the computer, and when I reboot it later, several emails I retrieved that should have been in my inbox much earlier. Once I notice the malfunction, closing Thunderbird and launching it again will fix the problem. But I'm a freelancer, I could miss important emails or job offers, so I need my email client to be reliable. Is this a known issue? Any idea what I could do?

I have Windows 10, by the way.

Today, Firefox stopped playing audio on Facebook videos and won't play Netflix videos at all (Netflix error code: F7701-1003). Youtube works fine and has audio, but several other video sites I've tried have video but no audio. It was all working fine yesterday and I haven't changed any settings.

These websites work fine with both audio and sound on Microsoft Edge on the same laptop, so this is a problem exclusive to Firefox. OS is Windows 11 Home 23H2, Firefox is latest version (129.0.2)

Things I've tried: 1. Refresh Firefox settings 2. Download and install fresh copy of Firefox 3. Toggle DRM content in setting on/off - no difference no matter what is selected 4. Ensure that 'remember history' is selected 5. Check for Windows updates 6. Uninstall audio driver, restart and fresh install of audio driver 7. Ensure it's not in private mode 8. Turn off all extensions 9. Check volume mixer allows sound for Firefox 10. Clear the cache and cookies

I can't find any more suggestions on the internet, so any further suggestions welcome!

Thunderbird is polling a deleted folder via IMAP/GMail

See attached image. Every time I start Thunderbird or refresh my emails, it attempts to delete a folder called "temp", and then fails to poll it.

The folder is not listed in Thunderbird or the Gmail web interface. I deleted it manually a long time ago. For some reason Thunderbird seems to be remembering it.

How do I clear this phantom folder out of my profile?

The blinking indicator of where the next character is to be typed in is over 15 characters long and it is annoying. I need to know how to get it sized to one character width like it used to be before the last update of TB. I have searched settings and I have not found how to correct it. Since it is blinking, I can not take a screenshot to show it, I can say that the last update of TB messed up a lot of settings and how it operates. Image is of my current version of TB.

When I open Thunderbird it opens my inbox but doesn't download new e-mails. Box appears which asks for new password. Putting this in does nothing. Demand re-appears. After a few minutes its sorts itself out & downloads new e-mails. This has been happening with Outlook & Plusnet e-mails.
