Every time Firefox updates it keeps re-enabling settings on its own.

Specifically 2 settings on the general tab keep enabling themselves in the "browsing" section, "Recommend extensions as you browse" and "Recommend features as you browse"

I have disabled these settings dozens of times now, and every time Firefox updates it keeps re-enabling these 2 settings on its own.

Just now I updated to v128.0 and these 2 settings turned themselves on again.

Why is Firefox not respecting my settings? Why is Firefox allowed to modify my settings without my permission?

I have deleted and reinstalled Firefox already. I don't use profiles and am not signed into the browser, so no settings are getting carried over that way.

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at www.foxnews.com.

If you entered the right address, you can:

   Try again later
   Check your network connection
Check that Firefox has permission to access the web (you might be connected but behind a firewall)

Since about a year I have the following issue in FF frequently: After clicking the 'Move'-tab in gmail a 'move to' popup window appears. Its vertical scrollbar disappears when I leftclick the scroll box in it. I do not know what apparently 'toggles' this behavior on and off. Any solution?

Firefox must've updated because this worked fine yesterday(7/11/24) but now I get this error when I try to access Google's main page.

Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to google.com because this website requires a secure connection.

What can you do about it? google.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site. The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. If you are on a corporate network or using antivirus software, you can reach out to the support teams for assistance. You can also notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

Ever since the version 127.0.2 update, YouTube has not loaded a video for more the 10 seconds. The rest of the page loads fine but the video just continues to buffering. Starting today it loads the video at the lowest resolution and plays for maybe 10 seconds. This problem is only on Firefox and I have already tried every solution to this issue that I have found on the internet. This all started with the latest update and once I updated the browser on my PC this issue manifested.

Hello all. I am looking for a way to prevent the width of tabs from resizing when either adding or subtracting tabs from the tab bar. The only reference I can find to this issue is a 2014 post found here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/989387. The suggestions therein do not apply to the current FF version. Among other things, the suggestion to go to the setting "browser.tabs.animate" does not seem to apply to the current FF version since I can not find such a setting. Like the OP in the 2014 post, the auto tab resizing drives me nuts! (Maybe he/she and I are the only people in the whole FF world community who are bothered by this?!) I would much prefer the tab width to stay the same and use the arrows on each side of the tab bar to access tabs that do not fit across the screen when many tabs are open. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am using FF 128.0 with Win 10 22H2 build 19045.4651. Thanks for any suggestions. John H

I want the same behaviour in the URL bar drop down as the search bar drop down, meaning that when I click a search engine, it immediately searches with it instead of doing search suggestion queries. How can it be done in modern Firefox? The search bar should also have its own separate default search engine so you can immediately swap between 2 primary search engines without needing to select one from any drop down at all.
