I had a school gmail account in thunderbird that I no longer have access to because I graduated. Once I lost access to the account, thunderbird would repeatedly ask me to sign in, so I removed the account through account settings -> account actions -> remove account. However thunderbird still repeatedly requests me to sign into the removed account. The account is no longer visible in the account settings sidebar, and I've also removed the account from my outgoing server settings, and from my saved passwords, but it still asks to be to signed in. This is preventing thunderbird from automatically updating emails, since whenever it checks for new messages it gets stuck on the removed account.

i am currently on thunder 115.14.0 64bit ( supernova ) and there seems to be a big gap from my current version to the 128 version ( maybe this is normal ) , just curious, anyway once i select update to 128 in thunderbird is this going to change my layout, settings, column views buttons layout or anything like that. or will everything pretty much remain how i have set it up ? thanks.

using the 'quick filter' feature of mozilla thunderbird version 128.1.1esr (64-bit) i was able to locate the message i was searching for in the top section (message list headers pane) but when i selected the correct message header, the contents that were displayed were from a different unrelated message.

in researching this issue i discovered that the message content for three separate messages now are displaying with the content from the same incorrect message. (the incorrect message content is a photo from an escape room, the three other messages should all be mostly text)

i assume there is a fix like rebuilding the index or something but this should not have happened in the first place so i'd like to report this as a bug.

Hi, As stated in the title, how do you synchronize the Thunderbird calendar of two machines.

I don't want to do it with google and not with cloud applications. You can find enough about that. Can you help me?

After years of working fine, Thunderbird suddenly won't download new messages (from Yahoo.com). Thunderbird says it's "Folder is being processed" or "checking for new messages," but it never downloads them. I can see my messages by going to Yahoo but I want them in Thunderbird. It's been a month and I'm out of ideas. It happens with both computers in the house, different versions of Windows, Thunderbird, and different anti-virus software.

I have had this issue since at least 2022 starting with version 102.4.1. I am currently running 128.1.0esr on OS 14.6.1.

I figured I would post again, as it has been a few years and the previous posts are now archived, to see if any new solution options are known.

In short, Thunderbird runs perfectly fine in troubleshoot mode. When launched normally, it locks up as soon as it checks for new messages, I get the spinning beach ball, and I have to force quit to close it. Letting it sit for an extended time has no impact. If I start in Troubleshoot Mode it works normally. No problems at all. I don't appear to have any add-ons or extensions running, so I don't understand why this is fixing things. I've just been running it in troubleshoot mode for years now, which is fine, but annoying.

The only themes, extensions, or add-ons present are "light," "dark," and "system theme -auto." Nothing else.

I had read a previous post about disabling access to Contacts in System Preferences, I tried that, no luck. I also deleted all add-ons and extensions files, and folders. Folders were empty, no change.

Any other theories?

My cell phone suddenly quit sending or receiving e-mails. Rec'd notice "Sending of the message failed" Unable to communicate securely with peer: requested domain name does not match the server's certificate" "The configuration related to smtp.jhsimstrucking.com must be corrected.

I am trying to use thunderbird for my Mitchell TeamWorks software but it my windows 10 operating system does not see it as my default mail app. I tried everything to get it to work. I reinstalled, I regedited, I cannot get this working correctly. What am I doing wrong.

I run Pop OS 22.04, and use Thunderbird.

I long ago set up Thunderbird to launch from the Pop OS toolbar. I marked Thunderbird as a "Favorite", so it has an icon on the toolbar, and launches from there. When a program marked as a Favorite is running, the toolbar displays a white dot beneath the icon.

I ran a Pop OS update, and Thunderbird updated to 128.0.1esr. (I'm not sure what version existed before, but I stay very current with Pop OS updates.) With that update, launching worked, but:

- The running Thunderbird process was represented by a second occurrence of the icon on the toolbar, and that one had the white dot.

- If I remove the old favorite, then the new Thunderbird process (started from a shell) cannot be made into a Favorite, so I don't know how to get the icon back on the toolbar.

In other words, something about integration with Pop OS changed, and I no longer see how to add Thunderbird back to it. I asked System76 support about this, and they suggested I pursue the issue here.

With Thunderbird 128.1.0esr for Linux, no longer able to drag/drop images inline. Instead of the image being embedded, it is now inserted as a link to the file on the local hard drive, which of course is useless to the recipient and not the expected behavior at all.

Hi - when I start Thunderbird my configured eadds (on different servers), Thunderbird (since nebula?) is downloading all emails from both servers and Thunderbirds opens all folders I created. It also looses some settings (color-marks of emails). Hope somebody can help - thanks!

Hello, recently I've been getting several Certificate warning messages that seem to have cleared up, but two problems persist. When I try to send email from domain hosted accounts (POP3), I get the image I have added, stating the sending has failed. When I send email from my ISP account (Comcast), I get "message was sent," but can't be copied to the Send folder. Any ideas? Thank you. (Windows 10 desktop, Norton Antivirus)

I added my nextcloud calendars to thunderbird by choosing "Network Calendars". It shows them as writable but those calendars with are read-only in nextcloud. This makes it a unnecessary difficult and irritating to make them read only manaully. Shouldn't thunderbird detect that automatically?

My Yahoo mail (used to be Cox) was working fine until the weekend then started giving me a pop up asking new log in as mentioned in another query: https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1459534

where the "Thunderbird" log in page runs through several URLs (Yahoo and Google among them) and winds up on a URL tsdtocl.com which a couple of sites flag as malicious. NoahSUMO suggests running an AV scan.

I ran MBAM pro (scan for rootkits), Malwarebytes adwcleaner, Sophos Scan and Clean and received clean on all. Haven't run HitmanPro as it messed up my computer several years ago when I tried it.

I tried moving mail from the inbox of one of the accounts (I have several) to a Local folder, deleting the account, and creating a new account (thinking maybe something would be different?). Of course, it wasn't. The login page winds up on the same URL: tsdtocl.com

My Mailwash Pro had suddenly stopped connecting to the Yahoo accounts over the weekend as well.
