hello. i did the latest update to version 116.0.3 on both a laptop & a desktop and now firefox randomly crashes and pops up with an error then shuts down and pops up with a message like "Sorry Firefox has en counted an error and is generating a report, do you wish to include pages that you were on and other tech details (something along those words)" i have agreed to this and sent it on a few times from both the Laaptop & desktop so you may have numerous reports from my name or my ip address. i have backed up all my bookmarks and exported them as a html file. so i also tried doing the refresh thing but it still crashes so is there a way i can get rid of every bit of firefox and reinstall say back to the previous version or the one before that. I am using firefox in macbook pro m2 13 inch with mac os ventura and when I try to access the localhost name in firefox I got 404 response . How can I fix it ? (Note: I am using homebrew package manager httpd service)

How can I recover the history that has been deleted from firefox? Already there is an article from 2020 which says to find index.dat file but there is no .dat file that i can find. I am looking for the file in the following location: AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\83ctti6r.default-release\cache2 and that location is the only one with a file named index but it is without .dat extension. If that is supposed to be the file that I am to use then which .dat file reader do I use to open it and recover the history.

I just bought a new laptop, and I can't figure out how to import my old bookmarks. I have them in an html file, but the import data option displays only the choice of importing from Edge (a horrible browser), not from file.

I can't even swear that I am seeing bookmarks. The bookmarks line at top is showing only the most recent (very old) searchs in Edge I also am not seeing the option to clear history on exit. What's wrong, and what can I do?

My M-1 MacBook Pro has been running warm since I installed Firefox 116.0.3 (64-bit).

EtreCheck Pro reports that "plug-in container.app" is a runaway process.

When I show package contents for Firefox, I can see "plug-in container.app" in the MacOS folder.

Will there be an update soon to correct this problem? Firefox is my primary browser. I work in the SaaS industry and have to run a browser 24/7.

Whenever a tab is playing sound, there's an icon on the taskbar icon that disables or re-enables audio in Firefox. Is there a way to deactivate/remove that button in the "about:config"-menu?

Just for fun we will enter HGTV sweeps. On many of their sites, https://www.hgtv.com/design/packages/hgtv-designer-of-the-year-awards/2023/color---pattern/colorful---eclectic-hut?ic1=triv_082623 as an example, the image will change but the caption, possibly in a separate frame, won't. This only happens with the one PC. On the other it works fine. Is there a setting messed up?

Firefox browser briefly showed a notification that a different domain was being used in the cookie opt-out process during a secure session on my bank's website. That domain is evidon.com. Does Firefox use Evidon sofware?

hi i've been using firefox for several years now i recently started getting an issue where the pages will not load at all, or won't fully load for a few seconds (like 30 seconds) this results in timeout error or just endless loading icon. if the page does load, it will not load completely and miss out a lot of info. for example sometimes when i go to youtube, all i see is gray squares instead of thumbnails. this doesn't happen ALL the time, but it happens very very often. refreshing several times fixes the issue. usually when this happens i try to quickly go to incognito and launch the website on chrome simultaneously, and it only loads instantly on chrome.

things i've already tried: -disabling extensions -clearing cache and cookies -incognito -removing ALL cookies -reinstalling firefox -changing DNS to google and cloudflare

i'm very frustrated by this. i don't want to discontinue to use firefox, i hate chrome. please help

About 3 weeks ago I started getting this pop up box randomly appear. It coincides with high CPU usage and will generate multiple boxes shingled on top of each other. What is it and how do I fix it? I've tried multiple online guides but nothing seems to work. Thanks.

I imported my bookmarks from chrome and there are thousands of bookmark folders. I wish to delete multiple folders at one time. All the answers I have found online do not seem to work. Is there a way in managing bookmarks to select and delete multiple "FOLDERS" at one time? TIA.

Deleted all tabs and bookmarks. Firefox has been doing that for too long now. Get your act together. Too many updates. Too many times you delete everything. The hassle getting it all back, should not be needed & you refuse to sort it. Why do I think that? Because the same problem has been happening, for at least 10year.

I am going through the https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/containers#w_manage-your-containers page and I dont have the option to add new containers when I click on the icon. I am only shown the choice to open the current page into one of the default containers. If I open a new empty tab, this icon doesnt show up in the url bar.

I have gone through the manage extensions options as well and I cant find a similar option. Can anybody point out what I am missing?

Every other search I do a Redirect Notice pops up. How do I get rid of this. Have used MS Edge and this browser does not have the problem, I am reluctant to transfer to Edge but will if I can't resolve this issue.

I use Panorama Groups. If I click on a tab I then land on that page, however the tabs at the top of the screen seem to move so I lose where the place of the tab I clicked on. Its frustrating as I try and put relevant tabs close to each other so I can swap between them. Because this happens I have to go and hunt for the tab I am using as there maybe 20 or more in a group its a pain. Please help or even suggest an alternative group add-in. TIA

A couple nights ago my menu bar disappeared. I'm running FF 116.03 on an older MacBook Pro. I have now spent several hours searching on what's gone wrong, but none of the following have proved fruitful:

• Closed FF and restarted
• Uninstalled FF, restarted my MacBook, reinstalled FF
• Customize Toolbars (only option is for Bookmarks)
• Customize Toolbars > Restore Default
• Right click on Toolbar (which has always worked in the past)
• Restarted my MacBook multiple times after reinstalling FF
• Disabled sync on my laptop and iPhone
• Checked every setting for General, Home, Privacy, Sync)
• Troubleshooting mode (several times)
• More Troubleshooting information
• Themes and add-ons (I've never used anything but the default theme)

And probably more things I cannot even remember at this point. I'm beyond frustrated as all I seem to be able to do is show/hide the Title Bar.
