I have numerous 1and1 domain IMAP based email addresses and use Thunderbird as main email program to retrieve and review my emails. However, some of the accounts setup in Thunderbird which have IMAP based servers are removing/deleting the email from the server on syncing. Its really frustrating on why some are doing this and the other do not.

I don't want ANY of my IMPA email servers having emails deleting, its why I use IMPA so I can review the emails on phone, tablet or via WebUI when away from home.

Thunderbird version is 115.14.0 (64-bit)

Please can you advise how I can fix this?

Running W10 on PC, no problems on other programs, on TB for at least 10 yrs. For past week TB has taken up to 15 seconds to delete or send some messages (not all). I thought this might be 3,500 messages in Sent folder so deleted oldest half of these. No difference, then I noticed that TB has deleted all my sent messages since May this year. Now it won't put my sent messages into the sent folder, they just disappear, and TB still delays on deleting or sending. Have tried repair button on inbox and sentbox, no difference. My wife remains on 115.14.0 without problems (so far!) I have just seen that v.128 has self-installed, could this be the problem?

Hy ! The version of TB y run is 128.1.0esr (32 bits) under Windows 10. I am a user since 2005. Under "disk space in "local folders", I have (translated) " never delete messages"

While seaching old messages, I just discovered that, although theses messages appear in the list of messages of local folders, there is a lot of theses local folders where, when I click on a message in the list, a window opens whith an empty content.

This does not occur the same way for all the folders : for example, in one of them, the messages dated 2005 do not open (they appear in an empty window), while messages dated 2006 and earlier open as usual. Other example, in another folder, containing messages dated 2008 to 2010, not any opens in another way than an empty window.

I have tried to ask my question in the mozilla forum the 15 th august, but no answer. That is why I try on this site. I have translated here the question I posted on the mozilla forum in French, my native langage, and I hope it will be understandable ...

When i open uppercode in browser Firefox and push the hyperlink, Thunderbird start correctly a new message with content (subject and body). When i receive uppercode as message in Thunderbird and push the hyperlink, Thunderbird open an empty window (and from now all messages are empty). After restart Thunderbird all messages are visible again. Is it a bug?

I am running Thunderbird Desktop Version 128.1.1esr | Released August 21, 2024 with Windows 11 Home 23H2

I have no trouble to log in to outlook.com but thunderbird says its the wrong password, Ihave changed it 3 times and it still says wrong password, I like thunderbird but don't understsnd what is wrong at the moment.

Apologies if this has been discussed before here, but in Thunderbird 128.1.0esr (64-bit) the All Events option is missing for calendar searches, which means it is no longer possible to search past events, see screenshot.

Hopefully the All Events option will be reintroduced soon?

I accidentally activated the OneDrive sync. After the mail directory were uploaded to the OneDrive cloud, thunderbird mail can only see each new mail title, but I cannot open these mails after I double click into them. It will just come back as directory and file not found. In other words, the paths are valid, but I can only see title without the preview nor the content of the emails.

File not found The file mailbox:///C:/Users/XXXXXX/MozillaMail/xxxxxx/Inbox?number=2704 cannot be found. Please check the location and try again.

I have Thunderbird set up to download email from my ISP to an inbox under that account. A few days ago I saw that when I deleted a message it did not go the the Trash folder. When I look at the properties of that folder it shows a blank for location and while the message is deleted from the inbox it disappears. I do not know how that location was lost or how to restore it to it's previous value.

When opening a pdf file to print, the setting at the top defaults to "Automatic Zoom". Can this default setting be changed to actual size? Some pdf's won't print the whole page, leaving part of the right side off.

thunderbird delete folders at will and randomly. folder remains at source but because thunderbird thinks it is still there it will not download folder again without making a change to folder name

Since the update of Thunderbird 128.1.0esr (64-bit) it freezes every couple minutes on a profile with 3 email accounts. One - no longer used - has about 2300 emails and is kept to access old emails.

The second is my primary Gmail account with 4351 emails in Inbox and 2234 in Outbox. Inbox shows 1.2 gb and Outbox 911 mb. The freezing has caused very significant challenges with reading and sending emails due to the freezing. As it is my primary email it is extremely concerning. And I am in the middle of a couple huge projects so I am getting a lot of emails.

The third is minimal with 26 emails.

I know it is not the number of accounts in the profile as I have 4 other profiles with more accounts and none of them freeze at all. (I manage/monitor other websites and keep them all separate.)

Also as others have noted the Filter function is doing weird stuff and rarely works properly anymore.

I´m having some really weird issues opening mail with attachments. Sometimes they open normally and other times the mail body is just an endless stream of random characters and it slows down Thunderbird drastically.

These mails are in my local folder and saved from a Gmail account.

Hi, Why do I have to click twice in a row on a message in the trash that I want to delete? This is how I do it: The message is moved to the trash and should be deleted from there. I mark the message in the trash and then click once on Delete at the bottom right. A window appears asking if I really want to delete. I then click once on Delete and neither the window nor the message disappears. Only when I click on Delete a second time do the window and the message disappear from the trash. What could be the reason for this and how can I fix it? Thank you for a useful answer. I don't have much experience with IT and Thunderbird. Regards Manfred

I returned from holiday to find a new version of Thunderbird running on my PC. All the old email folders going back to 2017 and all my emails prior to 14 Aug. 2024 were gone! I don't have a back up of my hard drive. Is there any way to retrieve the folders and emails? Cheers Chris

We had 6 or 7 address books yesterday. Today we have two. We had at least 1,400 contacts. Now we have about four hundred...Business contacts, clients, HOA members. Auto fill of existing email addresses no longer happens, and especially this morning a new client's address was saved, we had been writing back and forth and all that info disappeared.

There were about 1200 emails in the main view yesterday. Today much smaller. I was told mozilla is quitting.

 Is mozilla disappearing and dead ?   We are very sad.  

We use mozilla to run this business. This hurts.
