For months now, every time Firefox updates, my saved settings, logins and passwords are gone. I have to uninstall and reinstall Firefox to retrieve them. WHY does this keep happening? Please respond as this is extremely annoying and frustrating.

I have to uninstall and reinstall Firefox

Your data came back after a reinstall? It might be a problem with the data file that tells the browser where your profile is located.

Or did you reinstall the old version you were using before?

Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.{web link} I use an add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.

Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.

If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.

Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.

This is still happening. I checked all possible issues that could be doing this..Security and Malware programs....to be sure that they are not set to remove the stored items upon running or cleaning. Yet still, twice this week again, I signed on only to find the yellow triangle on the upper right telling me to "resync" my stuff. My options are wiped out and the only thing I know to do is to uninstall the current FF and then reinstall it. I do NOT choose the "refresh" option as I mistakenly did that once and IT removed all my stored info, logins, bookmarks etc. Pain in the butt to have to add all of those back one at a time. Something has to be wrong in FF to keep doing this.

Have you created a backup as I instructed in my last post?
