Here is a screenshot of what I get when I open attachments that come in my Thunderbirds email program. This is suppose to be a picture. If I save it in my documents, then I can open it. I don't want to have to save every attachment, just so I can read it.

It looks like you're trying to open a binary attachment with a text editor. What type of attachment is this, and with which application should it be opened?
