Hello,

I'd like to know if there is a way to permanently suppress that popup "open firefox in troubleshoot mode" (an image is attached to this post). Context is that we are running automated software tests (websites) using Firefox on VMs. It can happen that the Firefox processed is killed (for example, during a clean-up after a test run) and then the popup appears on the next test run.

That the browser is forcefully shutdown sometimes is unavoidable and we don't have much control over the VMs (so no reset is possible, for example). I'm really just looking for a way to suppress this popup and just start Firefox again.

Kind regards

I noticed that websites in my main firefox profile began showing the time in UTC rather than following my timezone.

privacy.resistFingerprinting and privacy.resistFingerprinting.testing.setTZtoUTC are set to false

Other profiles follow my timezone, so I would imagine that this has something to do directly with my current firefox profile.

Thank you

1 Close firefox 2 Remove the /home/myname/.mozilla folder 3 Start firefox and change Privacy & Security > History to "Remember history" 4 Close and restart firefox

The Settings > Privacy & Security > History is always reset to "Use custom settings for history" even on a DEFAULT install. I realize that this is because there is a history/cookie setting that is NOT the default, but I didn't set any non-defaults. This is a default installation with a brand new profile. Any ideas what could be causing this?

So I was trying to test webauthn so I went to webauthn.io and then signed up with my username but firefox then tells me touch your security key to continue with webauthn.io but it works very well google chrome. and shows me a qr code and then I scan it in my phone. And after some search I think that the problem is that firefox defaults to use the security key which is a physical device but i don't want to use it I want to get the QR code. Also I tried different websites but got the same problem.

And by the way I use arch linux but I don't think that the problem is with arch as I mentioned before everything worked very well in google chrome.

I am trying to understand how password less authentication with a FIDO2 security token works in Firefox over BLE transport.

Firefox uses authenticator-rs as Webauthn library which only supports USB-HID transport.

I am able to use a BLE security token to login to my google account however. How does that work if Firefox does not support that transport protocol?

Any help or direction to documentation on this topic is appreciated. So far I was not able to find an explanation for this online.

After updating my packages on Arch Linux, Firefox keeps crashing. I have tried almost everything from installing different versions, rolling back my Nvidia drivers, even reinstalling packages that I'd removed earlier that day. Nothing works apart from it running on X11.

Logs indicate that it's some problem with Wayland – something along the lines of a protocol error with wp_linux_drm_syncobj_surface_v1#61: error 5: No Release point provided. I have searched around for people with similar problems; although there are some others that are having some problems with Wayland and Firefox, this particular problem does not seem to be documented anywhere.

Here is a snippet from the crash report that may be useful: GraphicsCriticalError: [1][GFX1-]: Wayland protocol error: wp_linux_drm_syncobj_surface_v1#61: error 5: No Release point provided AdapterDriverVendor: nvidia/unknown AdapterDriverVersion: 555.58.2.0 ContentSandboxLevel: 4 IsWayland: 1

This happened on all Firefox versions I could try: official pacman release, flatpak, developer version, the 129 beta.

Has anybody else run into this or got ideas how to fix? Thanks in advance for your help!

If I click on a bookmark before my internet connection is established, I get page not found. Natural.

But if the connection establishes while on the error notice, the same bookmark gets the same unfound page. Refresh doesn't refresh. I have to go to another site or burn and start all over.

Same on Samsung Galaxy A34 and New Linux HP notebook.

I use my laptop with a connected AOC ultrawide monitor as primary screen and I don’t mirror laptop screen. My system is running KDE NEON, everything updated. I have an issue when watching video in Firefox. As long as I’m watching a video on a website it works fine, but when I change the video to fullscreen the monitor just show a black screen without turning off. I tried to activate the laptop screen and it show the video I’m running in fullscreen, which should run on external monitor. So my question is, why does Firefox move the fullscreen video to the laptop screen when I don´t mirror the laptop screen to the primary screen? Hope someone can help me out.

Hello everyone, I am experiencing this issue since - I suppose - Firefox Sync existed. My main machine has - like any other machine I own - Firefox always up to date and a set of plugins like No-Script, an ad-blocker, a theme, GUI icon disposition and whatnot. When I install Firefox on a new device or machine and then proceed to sync them, I lost the theme across all my synced devices, ALL of the registered sites I have trained No-Script and the adblocker not to block and my GUI settings. In short every new machine with a fresh install and sync of Firefox will wipe and overwrite to its defaults any synced custom configuration I have. Is there a solution for this?

Thank you.

This is super frustrating. How to use Firefox for development purposes? There should be an option to add exceptions. I even went to settings and added an exception manually to no avail.

I'm going often through pain to use firefox for everything but then there must be a reasonable way to achieve the goals.

Please tell me there is a way to workaround this easily without compromising security of other sites that are being visited.

P.S. I can open same site with adding an exception on chrome.
