Out of nowhere a couple days ago Firefox started loading local html files extremely slowly. I was using Live Server to render the pages, so I turned that on and off, uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I tried dragging files in from the original folder on my computer, but even that doesn't work. I tried updating firefox, and then my computer (which is running Fedora Linux 40), but still nothing.

When I try hitting inspect on the page, it only loads the HTML but doesn't let me inspect the JS as it wont load, and it's saying I have a ton of errors too. I can't look at the errors because they wont load, but I know it doesn't have to do with the original file as there was only one error which the page was working fine with before and each time I try opening the file it gives me a different amount of errors.

I tried clearing my cache and cookies, which didn't work either.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm having no other errors on other pages.

If I press and hold the arrow key, the page scrolls for a few lines and then there is a delay of about a second before it actually starts scrolling. How do you remove this delay? For example, hjkl works exactly how I want it to in the vimium extension, but I'm also using home row modes, so I can't use it. I'm not talking about smooth scroll or something like that. I also tried Yet Another Smooth Scrolling WE and it's not what I was looking for. This delay also common to chromium.

Version 127.0.2 for linux. Opening a direct link to a pdf file gives the error --- Downloading [file].pdf.part (header) [...].pdf.part could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to a different location. --- The file name is 144 characters long including spaces. I don't have any technical browser experience so I'll put what I know. Ecryptfs says it has a max file name of 143 characters. Mine stops working after 140 characters or 144 including ".pdf". Anyways I think the file name breaks my file system. I was trying to download two pdfs. This is another one I tried to download earlier that gave me the error. After giving me the error Firefox crashed immediately afterwards. This was a few days ago. Firefox has never crashed like that before in months. I don't remember exactly what happened but it did crash. If crash logs are needed I can find it. B. After attempting to downloading a video (mp4) file this happened. The mp4 file didn't show up anywhere but a -1 byte part file showed up. It took the name of a subfolder in the folder I had intended to download the image file. I'll explain it in further detail below. I attempted to download an image in /home/user/Documents. In the Documents folder I had another folder which I'll call example. So /Documents/example. I did save the video in Documents but I don't think that mattered. After closing the save as box that popped up after clicking save video I noticed the weird file show up in the Downloads tab. It showed up in the "example" folder and took the name "example".part. Remember I never chose the "example" folder but I did choose the Documents folder. All my files inside the "example" folder broke and I couldn't delete the weird part file. Clicking properties showed the permissions could not be determined. When I interacted with it (I think I tried deleting it) it gave me an error with "gvfsd-admin daemon". I don't remember what it said exactly. I applied my folder's permissions to its contents and I was able to delete it. It doesn't show up in my downloads manager now. I ran clamav and everything was fine. Note I downloaded the video from a trusted source, twimg or the twitter video host. C. Finally when downloading a pdf link that worked, I didn't get the file app box that allows you to save as. I stated above that I have the ask me where to save thing turned on. I don't know if that was a feature or what. Here's the link. Running 127.0.1 (64-bit) on EndeavourOS, KDE Plasma, using Wayland. I've had severe crash issues and when troubleshooting I noticed this

Error: Failed to open Wayland display, fallback to X11. WAYLAND_DISPLAY='wayland-0' DISPLAY=':1'

pops up every time I start Firefox via terminal. Why wouldn't Firefox be able to open a Wayland display? Trying to force it with MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 firefox doesn't do anything. I get the same error message.

Hello, I have a problem with the languages/dictionaries in Firefox (Linux) and would appreciate some help.

Currently the German language is not recognized in the spell checker or is apparently not available.

When I click on the context menu in a language field (right mouse button), only "Englisch (Vereinigte...." is displayed under "Sprachen" (which is "Languages" in the english menu).

However, the German language pack is apparently installed, because when I click on the link to add it in the context menu, the language extension for German already says "remove".

I would also be happy to provide pictures.

Incidentally, the interface in Firefox is already correctly in German.

Deleting cookies, restarting Firefox and restarting the system have unfortunately not helped.

I use Firefox with a VPN. I also use the Chameleon extension to alter my fingerprint. When I log into Messenger.com it asks if this is me and gives my actual, physical location. When I click on a link and say to open the link in a new tab, there's an issue.

The "Copy" in the context menu for that new tab is grayed out, i.e., cannot be selected.

So I have to go back to the origin page, and then re-select the new, just opened tab.

After I do that, the "Copy" is no longer grayed out.

Is this a bug?

If so, how do I report it?

I am using Debian 12, i3wm, and Firefox 127.0.1

After adding a new credit card to Firefox, I can go to any website that needs credit card info and it will auto fill successfully. When I reboot my computer and then try to auto fill credit card info, Firefox prompts me for the password to the "Default" keyring, but it does not autofill (something in the input box flashes quickly then it goes blank again). Firefox will not autofill again until I add a new credit card.

I had no success with Firefox in Troubleshooting mode either.
