and I immediately began scrambling to get it back. I found this somewhere: "Don't Delete Files" is the preferred option because it saves the old profile's folder and allows you to recover the files to a new profile. So that gave me hope because that's what I had clicked (unfortunately, it was right before I saw the cancel button over on the right). That's what I get for being in a hurry I guess.

Anyhow, after 4 days of reading support forums and tons of trial and error, I'm no closer to restoring that profile than when I first started (although I've learned a lot about what does NOT work).

Btw, both my profiles have always been set up as POP3 at Gmail, although if I ever get this current problem sorted out I'll be shopping for a different POP3 provider. But that's another story.

I know how to create a new profile with Profile Manager. And I found the Profiles folders under both Thunderbird folder as well as ThunderbirdOLD folder. Have I been on the right track so far?

In the Thunderbird/Profiles folder, I don't see a folder with the deleted profile name (except the new ones (duds) I've since created ). On the other hand, I don't see the name of the profile that I did NOT delete either, but somehow it seems to be working just fine. Maybe it's the ".default" folder or ".default-release" folder? I've only ever had two profiles and I may have created the non-deleted profile first, so did that one end up being named .default? -shrug- I have no clue.

Anyhow, in the ThunderbirdOLD/Profiles folder, I also see ".default" as well as ".default-release" folders too. But in addition, I'm seeing a ".deletedprofile" named folder. So that's where I originally thought my several dozen email folders with several thousand emails and Address Book etc are hiding. But I've copied all the above mentioned folders into the several new Profiles I've created, on a trial and error basis but so far..... no luck. All I get when I open one is the new set up screen to set up a new pop3 account.... which I can do, but that's just starting from scratch without any of my saved data. I'm running out of ideas.

Where am I going wrong?

Hello, My saved passwords do not work on certain sites on my Windows 11 computer and my Android smartphone. I have repaired firefox,and created a new profile as advised by members of the French forum.i have also created a new account. On the computer only, I no longer have the subtitles on the skillshare site. When I go to pinterest and deezer, the page does not display normally. I can't see the images in the duckduckgo search either, because I've been redirected to a non-javascript site. I had ccleaner, it was suggested to me that the problem came from there but I uninstalled it before creating the new profile. I also have bit defender free on my devices. Thank you.

I just got a new machine running windows 11 Home, I installed thunderbird just two of my email acconts and I can't see emails. The titles are there when i try to view don't get anything. I go back to my windows 10 set up I see my messages. Thank you in advance for your help..

I'm trying to set up Firefox on a new Windows 11 laptop and having issues.

First, I installed a couple of Add-ons and set them up, I use one to have a Home Page, and another for zoom percentage. And I went into each one and set them up as I want them. But when I closed FF and reopened it, they were gone, as if I didn't install them at all. And all the changes I made to the top part of the browser - icons and overall look - reverted back to what FF is "out of the box."

Also, on my old laptop, I went into about:config and changed the ui.textScaleFactor because the default FF top part is too wide for me. But when I went into it on the new laptop, and changed the number, nothing happened. On the old one, when you enter a different number and hit enter, the change is made immediately.

Also, I did make FF my default browser on the new laptop, at least I think I did. I clicked the link to do that, and it brought me to a window with a bunch of confusing extensions. I changed them all to Firefox, including E-Mail, and I don't even want FF being the default for E-mail. And I did click the check on top and clicked "Make FF the default browser." But when I open FF, I keep getting asked if I want to make FF my default browser and to pin it to the task bar. But it already is!

I should point out, that it's possible I downloaded FF twice, and may have installed it twice. But when I go to Install/uninstall files, just one is listed. And I only have one FF icon on my desktop.

So what is going on?

I allowed one of my domains to expire recently, but forgot to remove the account from Thunderbird (TB). Since the domain no longer exists, TB is choking--to the extent that I am unable to access the menu (i.e, File | Work Offline or Settings.)

I have been trying to start TB offline using the Profile Manager, setting the default profile to Work Offline, but that doesn't work. I have use the command line parameter "-safe-mode", but that has no effect. I found an ancient (18 years old) forum post that mentioned a "-offline" parameter, but that too had no effect.

I've been looking for a way to manually edit the profile, but haven't found anything.

I am really stumped. Any assistance/insights into this issue would be greatly appreciated.

At first I thought it was Facebooks issue but when I shared using Edge or Opera browser the share dialog DOES have a share button at the bottom of the share pop up dialog. Using Firefox, for what ever reason, it's cut off at the bottom so I have no way to share and have to copy the link and walk it over to Facebook or wherever to share anything. See the images below...

I have filters set to auto-forward mail to another email account. Apparently when you have a forwarding filter, it does not add those messages to the outbox.

Hello. My Thunderbird has been slow to pen,lagging while in it,and when clicking on messages,they do not show,and have to close it by right clicking the icon several times then waiting for it to close,then when reopening it,it says it is processing,and still open,and a box appears with an option to close the program so it can open again.I have done nothing to cause this.I have many important emails etc,and i cant uninstall the program,so i installed OE Classic,and was able to import settings from Thunderbird to it,and luckily i was able to export Thunderbirds setting to a 2.1 gn file that was the file i used to import to OE Classic,but OE Classic waits,and authenticates,and then i get a big error message,and here is the screenshot. I guess i,l try outlook express if its still any good for email(have heard /read otherwise) By the way i tried right clicking on the thunderbird shortsut,and selecting run as admin,and make it run in compatibility mode for win7,and thunderbird was fast for a day or two,but now its back to quicksand. I tried a 2022 sourced help answer result content but it was broken, and that seemed to be the most recent gainful help response connected to my issue, another variant from elsewhere did not work at all, it was probably older still, so I need working code for the most recent version of Firefox Browser, or however recent enough to not so conflict. Much Appreciated.

I am on FF 129.0.1 on Windows 10 laptop. I download financial data from several sources using the .qfx format which is fed into personal finance software (Moneydance). Everything works well and download history shows all downloads from banks, but does not include downloads from my brokerage. Is this something the brokerage is doing or some setting that I can control. Thanks for any help in explaining this.
