Hi, I'm new here and need some help. I use gmail as an email client and I want to use Thunderbird to save all my emails there. But when I delete them from Gmail, I want them to remain in Thunderbird and not be deleted from there. How to prevent the deletion of messages from Thunderbird using Imap? If I use Pop3, messages from folders or sent ones do not appear, that's why I use Imap, but when I delete messages directly from gmail, I see that they are automatically deleted from Thunderbird as well, how can I prevent this from happening again? I'm doing a major cleanup of old Gmail email messages. I want to quickly find the senders that have the most number of messages.

In Thunderbird, I set the view to All Mail, and then display in Card View. I'm sorting by From, and Grouped By Sort.

This gives me a useful view, but I can not find a way to sort by number of messages (in other words to display the senders in order based on the total number of emails from that sender and show me the number of messages.)

Is there a way to do this in Thunderbird? If not, are there any other tools/email clients that will give me a view like this?

I'm on tb 128 and use roadrunner. I see my emails on spectrum server but can't download them? I was using pop, they said imap is needed.

I don't know who at firefox doesn't understand the point of fullscreen, but the address bar continues to pop up when the mouse reaches the top of the screen and there is no setting to turn this off. It is a comically incompetent choice. No, the chrome folder or extensions don't work. Might just switch back to chrome as this is a pattern with firefox's choices.

I have 10 email accounts in my Thunderbird 115.12.2 (64-bit) and I am using Microsoft Windows 10 Pro and all my sent, draft, archives and templates are going into a different folder. I want them to go into the folder from which the email was sent but they are all going into the email tinakeeling@att.net.

I have changed it to reflect the correct folder but then a few days later and every time I restart Thunderbird the program changes the folders back to tinakeeling@att.net

I have even unchecked the box "place a copy in" and when Thunderbird is restarted it reverts back.

What can I do to fix this issue?

If my email provider's server was originally POP but my provider's moving to IMAP there's a good chance they'll temporarily support both versions.

And I've discovered that I can set up a 2nd email account in Thunderbird and link it to their IMAP server. Both email accounts will then download the same emails.

But of course my POP account (locally) will have a whole history of emails whereas the new IMAP account won't.

So rather can creating that 2nd email account, is it possible to set up (i.e. convert) the existing account so that it'll access the IMAP server, rather than the old POP one? I tried opening its Server Settings in Thunderbird and simply changing the Server Name and Port but that doesn't work. The Server Type remains as POP and even the Advanced settings don't offer any clue :-(

Does an imported TB profile overwrite the existing files in a new TB install?

I set up one existing account and have imported the profile for all my TB accounts. I am hesitant to import all of the profiles because of the one (oldest account) could be overwritten and TB did not leave any messages on the gmail IMAP server.

The other accounts do not exist on the new install (new machine)

I'm using MAC OS 14.6.1 on an M3 iMac

When I open a new page in Firefox, it is always at the bottom and I have to scroll all the way up to the top of the page? Very annoying!

I have tried to modify 'browser.translations' related settings in 'about:config' page, but no luck so far. If I open the same link in Edge, page is shown without the bar.

I had to reinstall Windows 11 on my computer and I had Thunderbird previously installed on a removable drive "E". So my old Thunderbird profile and mailboxes are still on that removable drive. I installed thunderbird to drive "E" but the profile was put on my C:users...... directory.

How do I tell Thunderbird to look at the profile (and all my mailboxes that were set up under that old profile) that's located on the removable E drive?

I already turned pff the graphic tab preview, but the tab title still pops up when I move my mpuse pointer on a tab. I do not need this and find it terribly annoying. How do I completely deactive this?

I cannot find, from the Menu bar, Tools, Settings, General, scroll to bottom to Config Editor I have not been able to find this "Config Editor". I also did not find .css file in that I might be able to modify. I am not understanding why the option isn't present in the settings for Firefox!

First.. I HATE threaded messages. I'm sure there are plenty of use cases for it but I truly despise all things threaded when it comes to e-mail. Yet somehow mozilla seems to believe that it must be that absolute best thing in all the world for everyone to use. As there appears to be no way to GLOBALLY disable the use of threaded messages. By disable I mean, I don't even want to see a threaded column. I never want to see messages from any folder or new mail account even have an option for threaded. I want the entire feature to be completely removed. While I'm sure that removal of said feature is pretty much something that isn't going to happen. It would be nice to have a way to simply not have it be used at all. I shouldn't need to go and highlight a bunch of folders or turn it off EVERY time I add a new folder. I HATE sort by threaded because I HATE threaded messages. So why isn't there a way to just turn it off.

So.. I'm using a DESKTOP version not a mobile version. And NO I don't want to highlight folders.. there MUST be a way to just turn off threaded completely.

I have added a new microsoft business email address. I can only receive emails but I cannot send any. There is a problem with the smtp settings I guess I'm using Thunderburd I have tried, with the help of a Microsoft representative to change all the possible settings and read the articles to guide us trough

but wasn't working for sending out emails I have even tried sending emails to different providers and different email accounts and it is not working at all. Even with the help of the Microsoft specialist. Can you Please help me out configure thunderbird so i can use my email recruiting.office@globaldisinc.com it is a microsoft business email. I just downloaded Firefox and designated it as my default browser. The purpose was to get away from using Google Chrome; however, when I go into Firefox, the only options are to search with google????? Please let me know if this can be corrected.
