Hi,

I am using the Firefox Multi-Account Containers addon with Firefox 116.0.2 (on apple silicon). I use the containers to isolate sessions from different websites. I have a container for my Instagram session. However, when I open a private browsing window and go to instagram, I find that I am already logged in. I thought private browsing windows were completely new and blank.

How is it possible that my instagram session is available in private browsing?

Hi, I've been using Firefox for decades and been saving passwords in it without any second thoughts, thinking they were fully secure.

Today I had to install a Yandex Browser for my work for the first time in my life (on a new clean Windows 10). It also asked to "make changes on my device", and I rejected it. What happened next absolutely terrified me. It immediately grabbed all the tabs, the sessions and, most importantly, the years worth of passwords from my Firefox. Does it mean that they just lie there unprotected, and any random piece of code even without the administrative privileges can just take them? I'm pretty sure I didn't click anything related to legitimate data sync.

I am trying to my account to authy but after I scan the QR and type the code, FireFox say wrong codes. Authy worked fine with many other accounts so what to do ?

I am running the latest FF on Fedora and few weeks ago I started having this issue where some images aooear scrambled. Pics attached but for example the QR code on messages.google.com looks scrambled. Same for some favicons, some of the iconography on Google maps, and random others.

So far, I've tried disabling VPN and all add-ons (Troubleshoot mode) to no avail. Can't seem to find a pattern, it seemingly happens at random. Any suggestions appreciated.

I was directed to contact you by Metamask Support. I'm experiencing a problem connecting to Metamask from Firefox, though it connects without any issues in Chrome. Based on this, Metamask Support believes the issue may be related to Firefox.

Here's what I've done to troubleshoot so far:

Cleared cache data in Firefox. Verified that I'm using the latest version of Metamask (34.0). Encountered an error when trying to switch networks with the message "unable to connect to Polygon." Confirmed that no other wallets are causing conflicts. I've attached some screenshots for your reference.

Given that I can connect to Metamask in Chrome and have already cleared data in Firefox and ensured I'm using the latest version of Metamask, Metamask Support suggested the problem might lie with Firefox.

Could you please help?

I am currently facing an issue where videos on websites other than YouTube are not playing. This problem is occurring on browsers like Firefox, Brave, and Opera, but interestingly, videos are working fine on Chrome. I have tried various solutions over the past 2 years, including removing extensions, using private mode, installing web media extensions and codec packs, but nothing has resolved the problem. I am using Windows 10. I would appreciate any insights into why Chrome is able to play videos while other browsers are not, and I'm specifically looking for solutions beyond the usual suggestions like removing extensions or using private mode.

In Firefox, when I type 'news' into google instead of getting a list of links it takes me straight to the Financial Times website. Is this an issue with google or is Firefox being hyjacked?

when I view a stock quote in Google Finance If I move my Windows cursor into the price chart and move the chart cursor to a new date or time the tab will hang. I can no longer move the chart cursor. Reloading the tab will no longer work. I have to delete the tab and then use History to reload it. There is no problem as long as I keep the Windows cursor out of the stock chart area.

I am running Windows 11 up to date and Firefox 116.02. This has been a problem for a long time.

West Virginia has a website to download old death certificates, but they wont load. There's nothing but a blank page. I'm not positive that it's a Firefox problem, as a friend of mine who uses IE cant load them either, however, she CAN load them on her Tablet. As a historian, I really need to get these records for my research, so I was wondering if someone could go to the site and see of the records appear for them to be downloaded. Some of the scripts are not loading or working properly, like clicking boxes and notifications on some sites. Most recently this happened on the New Statesman website, I doubt they haven't optimized their site for Firefox. Previously I encountered this on Gerogetown University's Management System platform, which according to IT should be fine with Firefox. I removed all the extensions, cleared the cache and cookies, tried troubleshooting mode, even reinstalled Firefox to no avail. I accept all cookies. Settings are default. The issue is specific to Firefox, Edge works fine. Please help, I don't want to migrate back to Edge.

I am Member of a motorcyle forum which allows You Tube videos to be embedded in Forum posts.

When I try to view a video, the initial video Thumbnail can be seen, but clicking the screen to play the video just results in the "spinning wheel" and the video never starts to play.

If I click "Watch on You Tube", a new Firefox browser tab opens and the video plays on the You Tube web site without any issues.

If I use a different Browser such as Chrome to view the Forum web site, I can click on the embedded video and it wil play within the Forum web site.

Various tasks have no effect , eg entering 'Duolingo.com' in the search field has no effect. Nothing is returned (screen remains blank - no messages). No problem with other search entries Also attempted link to my bank account similarly froze. End up by switching to Msoft Edge and completing my mission.

If I go to https://media.telstra.com.au/home.mobile.android.html using Firefox and then click on the "Webmail" button, I'm taken to https://email.telstra.com/login from which I am unable to log-in.

However, if I do the same using Safari as a browser, I'm taken to a page entitled myid.telstra.com (with a lock symbol in front of it), from which I CAN log-in.

Can anyone offer an explanation. Note, this situation with Firefoix kind of happened overnight some period ago - I had been successfully logging in using Firefox for months/years befoe hand.

The google search bar on the homepage doesn't work, just does an infinite load, the same with google.com. The extensions I have are AVG Online Security, Malwarebytes, and AVG Anti-Tracking. The version is the latest version 116.0.1

My Mac (desktop) crashed and after that, my bookmarks disappeared. I redownloaded Firefox and logged in, but I could not find my bookmarks. So I tried to rebuild my bookmark toolbar but realized all the websites were already bookmarked (each bookmark star was blue).

Just to experiment, I opened Firefox from the external location (that is used for external hard drives, etc.) WITHOUT DOWNLOADING to the Applications on my Mac. Then I could fully see my bookmarks.

This is good but I have to open Firefox on the external location every time I restart my Mac or change the user.

How can I access my bookmarks in the downloaded Firefox as normal?

Hi! I just moved over to Firefox from a different browser, and there this minor thing that I noticed. Whenever I put a video on full screen, it looks like it alters the aspect ratio of my screen? Like there are black bars at the left and right of my screen instead of it filled all the way. Its very minor but it bugs me every time. Is there a way to fix this or not? Thank you!

I am using a Macbook Air M2 btw.

Prior to Firefox 116, I could have the normal scrollbar up and down buttons showing by making:

widget.non-native-theme.gtk.scrollbar.allow-buttons True

But now it seems to have no effect. This is under Linux/Mint/Cinnamon. Also, now long-pressing is doing smooth scrolling (I never want smooth scrolling anywhere) and can't find a way to stop that.

Seems like it is always a fight retaining usable scrollbars in Firefox that do not hide, do not change size on mouse-over, do not "warp" on left click, do warp on center click, have a thumb that shows page size, have a background that is not white, and are not microscopic in size! Just call me "traditional"  :)

Google sponsored links (those on top of a Google search for a product) not working in Firefox, works in Chrome and Edge. The example link below uses googleadservices.com, which appears to be the problem. When trying to load that link, Firefox does nothing. The same link plugged into either Chrome or Edge works fine. This is a REAL PITA!
